The bartender has some serious skills because the drinks were excellent. They were also very pleasant & made you feel welcomed. This bar is a great vibe. I'd definitely recommended to check it out because you won't be disappointed. FIVE STARS!

The moment my girl and I walked in we felt like family. The vibes are lit and the drinks are straight gas (delicious/good). The bartender was very knowledgeable of the drinks we ordered and very attentive. We'll pull up more often.

Jon. Nice guy. His co- worker was a douchebag though.

Slow service. Expensive drinks. Need more employees. Jon in the attached pic was very nice but the other guy working (didn't het his name) was a douche. Ruined a good night. Would not recommend.

For a dive bar, this place has one of my votes. The people are always friendly. It's very well lit, and the drinks are actually OK and they're good price I know many people don't like the med. It was darker in the past, but it is lighter and brighter now And it's just like 100 feet from my house so love it

My girls and I were on our annual girls trip and stopped in to have a few drinks on a Saturday afternoon and had so much fun we came back for football the next day! Being a group of women we expected a bunch of skeezy dudes being gross to us and that was not the case here. The regulars were welcoming and friendly, the bar and bathrooms were clean. We were greeted by the AMAZING bartender Joey who we loved, and he took great care of us. Great drinks, friendly atmosphere...we're coming back in a couple weeks!

I think I see an ATM over by the juke box. Is The Med cash only, or can I use a credit card?

    Hey Wayne, CCs are accepted.

    Who owns the Med?

Hi Ken, The Med was purchased by new owners last month.

Waitress walked by several times to bus some plates and glasses and input some orders into the console but never made eye contact, nor did the old guy with the glasses when he came out to attend the bar. Finally, I caught his attention and asked if I could order. He just said, "Kinda busy right now" and went back to what he was doing. No "give me a minute and I'll be right with you." Much like the crowd that was already there (and unlike the mixed demographic just outside or me), some older white folks came in after me and stood around for a few minutes also. Waitress finally grabbed some menus and asked them "have you been helped?" I interjected and asked, "Can I place an order to go first please?" Without stopping, she said "no" and continued on to them. I left. They saw me leave and didn't say anything. Make of that interaction what you will. The extra star is giving them the benefit of the doubt since they were busy plus their immediate adjacency to the beach.

There were TVs everywhere and they were showing hockey, baseball, and basketball. For the food, I really enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Salad. It was nicely seared on the outside while still being raw on the inside. The greens with sliced ginger and dressing bring it all together. Mozzarella Sticks come with 4 large pieces. If you eat them while they're hot, you can get a pretty awesome cheese pull. These were served with marinara sauce and the appetizer was tasty. My son ordered a Chicken Pesto pizza that I was able to issue a dad tax on. I thought the pizza was solid, not spectacular. A nice chill place to hang out and watch a game.

Fish and chips - fish was cut into smaller bite size portions rather than entire fillets (mixed opinion). It tasted good, well seasoned and crispy. Chips are the real deal -medium cut, lightly battered (Black country style), crispy, well seasoned with paprika mix. These tend to stay crisp for a long time thus providing nice accompaniment with multiple rounds of drinks. Cheesesteak - thin cut tri-tip was well done, juicy, tender meat, good amount of onions and peppers and swish cheese. All in all good local joint

Great Food, Great Service & a Manager Who Actually Says Hello!…read more Loved this place! My bride and I had a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in. This restaurant has an incredible indoor and outdoor space, a great menu, and an atmosphere that somehow manages to be both chill and professional. You'll find a wonderfully diverse crowd here, and everyone seems to fit right in. Now, let's talk about the food! I highly recommend the meatballs--they were fantastic! And the garlic bread? Fabulous. Honestly, I could have made a meal out of the bread alone, but I exercised some restraint...because I'm an adult. My bride ordered the hamburger, and she loved it. The salads were excellent, the bread was outstanding, and the dessert selection was enough to make someone suddenly forget they were "too full for dessert." Our server was incredible--attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. And then, as if the experience couldn't get any better, the manager actually came out and welcomed us! You don't find that everywhere. That personal touch says a lot about how this place approaches hospitality. Everything was clean, the service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the ambiance made us want to hang around longer than we probably should have. One warning: Parking can be a bit of a challenge. But trust me, this is one of those places where you circle the parking lot a few times and say, "Lord, give me a parking space!" Yelp Elite verdict: Absolutely worth the hassle! Great food. Great people. Great atmosphere. Great service. And apparently, great managers who actually come out to meet their guests. The sandwich was delicious, and the chipotle aioli was especially good--creamy, flavorful, and one of the better ones I've had. The sweet potato fries were crispy. My partner really enjoyed the prime rib, and the portion was large enough for leftovers. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. We sat outside with our pups, which we appreciated. The only suggestion would be to update the patio layout a bit. Our table was directly across from the waiting area, so it felt like we had very little privacy while people waited. Other than that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back.

The woman who greeted us was incredibly warm and friendly. With three little kids running around and being their wild selves, it would have been easy to feel like we were "those people," but she made us feel comfortable. She even shared that she and her business partner love filling their space with happy kids and families. That really stuck with me. It can be surprisingly hard to find places these days where families truly feel welcome, and in a moment when I was already overwhelmed trying to figure out where to eat lunch with three kids, that kindness meant so much. And the ceviche was AMAZING. Add in the beautiful view, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp Elite Review: Where the Coffee Is Bold & the Stories Are Even Better…read more Some restaurants serve breakfast. This place serves breakfast with a side of Santa Cruz history. This spot has been around for years, and when my boys were younger, we would come here after a day at the beach. It has gone through a few owners over the years, but the improvements they've made are awesome. The place still has that classic beach-town chill--lots of laughter, good food, and people enjoying life. Parking? Let's just say Santa Cruz and parking have never exactly been best friends. But once you get inside, you have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, and it's worth the effort. One of my favorite things about this place is the history. For years, a group of local fishermen have been coming here. Two of them are still regulars, sitting around telling fish stories. And if you know fishermen, you know those stories have probably gotten a little bigger every year. My wife and I split the all-meat omelette, and it was delicious. They also do a fantastic job with the hash browns--crispy, hearty, and exactly what you want with breakfast. The coffee deserves its own paragraph. Bold, flavorful, and strong enough to make you believe you can conquer the day. Our server was wonderful. She has worked here since graduating from high school, and you could tell she genuinely cared about taking care of people. Friendly, positive, helpful, and the kind of service that makes you want to come back. There's a wonderful selection of food, but honestly, part of the experience is simply being there. You can almost feel the decades of stories in the walls--families, fishermen, beach days, laughter, and countless cups of coffee. This isn't just a place to grab breakfast. It's a place where Santa Cruz history is still being served--one omelette, one cup of coffee, and one slightly exaggerated fish story at a time. Yelp Elite approved! #YelpElite #SantaCruzEats #SantaCruz #BreakfastInSantaCruz #BeachTownVibes #SantaCruzFoodie #Breakfast #Omelette #HashBrowns #Coffee #LocalFavorites #CaliforniaEats #FoodAndMemories
