Out of 4 of us, 2 have never been. And I and my friend have been to other locations -not to Fort Collins. We were seated promptly and Josh dropped off menus and took our drink orders. As we enjoined our cocktails, the mule was delicious as we all enjoyed discussing our options. Josh was great in helping us determine how to split our pots between cheese, broth and having a vegan eater. The dinner lasted 2 hrs because we couldn't pass up enjoying a chocolate pot as well. I put it a call to them after hours and the manager answered. He checked lost and found, then asked for my phone number and where I had parked. Our server was awesome and just a sweet little gal. However, the lag time between being seated, and every phase of dining was so long. Especially between the cheese flight and then waiting for the protein. And then from protein to dessert was unbearably long. I always forget that it seems like that's just how they roll with Service. But for me, it's a definite negative. On a positive note, for people who find this type of dining, super fun and don't mind a long, long meal, they do a nice job with presentation and cleanliness. One final note that it could be seen as a positive or negative is now they provide a barcode that you can scan that will track the cooking time on your meats. We weren't sure what to expect from a chain fondue restaurant, but they exceeded our expectations in every way. The menu has many a la carte options, and 2 tiers of 4 course offerings. We chose a 4 course offering and loved the variety of meats and veggies included. Each course is very customizable and we loved the options we chose. The main course comes with multiple dipping sauces sure to please everyone in your group. The portions were large and we left very full and with leftovers. Our server, Allie, made this a great first experience for my friends and I on my birthday. She was so friendly and helpful with explaining the menu and how ordering worked. For those Debbie downers who are always asking "why would you spend money when you can do this at home?" It's the experience! The mood of the restaurant is very relaxing and intimate. It's very comfortable and home-like. The fondue is delicious. We got the Alpine and Garlic/Herb- both sooo good. I could've filled up on just those! The steak lovers combo was good and the broth really added a good flavor, the teriyaki steak was the best. The fillet was a bit underseasoned, but the pepper steak was really tough and I didn't even finish it because it was so hard to chew. By the time the chocolate came, I could only eat a couple dipped strawberries because I was so full! I would absolutely say it's worth the money for the experience and the food. We did the "Four-Course Dinner For Two", and what an experience it was! We had two waiters, a trainee and his mentor, and both were great - very helpful with information and advice, which we definitely needed. Long story short, the "bookends" - the cheese fondue beginning and the chocolate fondue finale - were absolutely delicious and what we look forward to doing again. The salad was good but not unique. The third course - the entree, which for us included shrimp, fish, and steak - was good and definitely unique, but more about the experience than anything else. We went here a few nights ago to participate in Great Plates. It was a fantastic, fun experience! I was nervous because we'd never been here before and didn't know what to expect but the excellent staff were very informative once we explained we'd never been here before. They also asked about allergies several times and made sure my food wasn't contaminated with anything I was allergic to. Really, really excellent experience. Now onto the food! The Great Plates deal came with a glass of wine and we had the white zinfandel on recommendation of our server. We're both not big wine drinkers but did enjoy it. The first course was a strawberry almond salad and it was good. My spouse, a picky eater, ate all of his even though it's not something he normally would've even tried. The second course was four different meats: teriyaki sirloin, BBQ crusted pork (my spouse's favorite), chicken with herbs, and shrimp served with veggies (potatoes, mushrooms, and broccoli). It came with 6 dipping sauces but I can't remember all of them right now; they were all delicious though. Third course was s'more chocolate fondue and it was amazing. There was a show with it too! They flambe the dish as they build it in front of you. This was where my allergies came into play and they were so good about it. Before dessert, we decided we were still hungry and ordered a cheese fondu as well. It wasn't included in the Great Plates (though you could get an upgrade that came with a bottle of wine; but we knew we wouldn't drink the wine so it wasn't worth it to us) but it was so worth it. We got the spinach artichoke and it was so delicious. Overall, I highly recommend coming here at least once because it's such a fun, unique experience. read more

My partner and I had a wonderful date here last week! Being immune compromised, I rarely get the opportunity to dine in anywhere. My boyfriend called ahead and they were willing to accommodate us by our server wearing a mask and seating us away from others. Vivian was an amazing server. She was kind, helpful, and accommodating. The location is easy to find in old town Fort Collins, the restaurant itself it nicely appropriated, staff is welcoming and quick to serve. This place runs like a well oiled machine! We ordered " The Complete Experience for Two" A four-course experience for two including your choice of cheese fondue, salad, entrée and chocolate fondue - entrée included Premium Filet Mignon, Teriyaki-Marinated Steak, Garlic Pepper Steak, along with Memphis-Style Dry Rub Pork Teriyaki, Herb-Crusted Chicken Breast - a complete experience and delectable delight - My daughter is allergic to both nuts and shellfish - a serious condition for many and one that The Melting Pot took very seriously - Donovan was quick to point out any and all items that would not fit within our allergy profile, a true service that is difficult to find a restaurants these days - The finale was the Rocky Road chocolate fondue - dark chocolate swirled with marshmallow crème & flambéed - outrageously fantastic - dippers included fruit, various cakes, marshmallows & the like - A tremendous experience, one that was perfect wrap up of our stay in Fort Collins - In the end, I inadvertently left my phone behind at the restaurant, once back at our hotel I realized it and called - they had it at their front desk, as it was turned in by a employee, I left a tip for the individual who was kind enough to turn my phone in as acts of kindness are rare these days I felt it was appropriate to return the deed. I don't get it. You are shelling out hundreds of dollars for melted cheese or salty broth that you will skewer previously frozen seafood or cheap cuts of meat on a fork to then be boiled or dipped. Why can't this be done at home where my group can not be given the bums rush? Fondue is literally grated cheese with a smidge of cornstarch and your choice of nutmeg or other spices, brandy or beer, then you agitate the dickens out of it to avoid separation. The broth is a no brainer, and the melted chocolate can be done up with a little butter and brandy. If you don't own a fondue pot, do this on a range top, transfer to a crockpot if you have it. If you don't have either, you will literally save a small fortune by purchasing either and doing this yourself. Do it twice and you will have saved yourself hundreds. Experience my Aunt Fanny. Why would we ever do this again? It wasn't worth the cost and uncomfortable seating. The fondue was mediocre at best. Two stars because my group was able to people watch. read more

Went for the first time to the Melting Pot on a Wed. Night for my boyfriends birthday recently and it was an awesome time! To start off we tried the Bourbon Bacon Cheese Fondue which had tons of flavor, then we had the Caesar Salads which tasted almost a little sweet with the nuts on top, then we got to cook our entree which was a lot of fun and tasted sooo good, and last but most importantly we had the Milk Chocolate Fondue which was also sooo yummy and amazing!! We were totally stuffed and had tons of leftovers, our server Valerie was tons of help and had a lot of knowledge about the different foods and drinks! We are definitely gonna come back! February Sunday 9:45pm C: You can get whatever you want J: I want the dark and dulce dessert! C: You should choose the flaming turtle. That sounds good. J: I thought I could choose whatever I wanted! C: I didn't think you were going to choose the dark chocolate. Let's get the flaming turtle. Boyfriend and I came here for a late Valentine's date and unbeknownst to me he had purchased a vase with roses and rose petals spread across the dining table, booked a private side room, and ordered the Valentine's package (listed $125) which consisted of a cheese appetizer, salad, a main course and chocolate desert. + Location: Corner of building. Free street parking. + Ambiance: Awesome! It's a classy place, though you wouldn't be denied service if you were in jeans. The side room with a curtain for privacy was great but the temperature in the little room (seats maybe at most three people in an "L" shape) fluctuated with whether the curtain was closed or open. + Wine: They were out of their usual chardonnay, the white wine the waiter brought was not my favorite, but we were given two more tastings of which New Age (~$35) came out the winner. We didn't get to finish our wine, but our server re-sealed it for us! Very fancy! + Service: Our server gets an A+ for how knowledgable he was with the menu, the wine choices, the attention he lavished on us, and having great customer service! - Appetizer: Quattro Formaggio (Butterkase and Fontina cheese with garlic, basil, tomato, pestos, mozzarella and parmesan). It was rad watching our server mix our cheese mix. Breads, vegetables, and green apple pieces (my favorite) are refillable! The cheese had a bit too much flavor - or maybe just not my favorite flavors. I would try the pesto walnut next time. + Salad: I had the Wisconsin Wedge (iceberg wedge, roma tomatoes, gorgonzola, bacon and peppercorn ranch dressing) which reminds me of Cobb salad. It was an awesome upgraded Cobb salad. Boyfriend didn't like his Caesar salad which came with some interesting sweet things mixed into it. - Entree: The only choice was Cupid's Combo consisting of 4 pieces of lobster tail, and about six pieces each of filet, shrimp, chicken, sirloin, and ravioli. 6 dipping sauces are available and my favorite one was probably the cheese sauce for the ravioli. 3 different cooking styles are available, but since the Mojo was out, we had the Coq au Vin (burgundy wine infused with fresh herbs, spices and mushrooms) which was just alright in that I couldn't tell what the flavor was supposed to be. Although it was easy to cook the pieces I either wasn't impressed with my cooking skills or I wasn't into the meats. The shrimp was already infused with lemon-y flavors and delicious, the filet or sirloin was tender and we slightly undercooked them to get medium-rare meats, everything else was not particularly memorable. + Dessert: Flaming turtle (milk chocolate, caramel and candied pecans) was good, and was still good a few days later with the staling brownies, cookie bites, strawberries, pineapples, and marshmallows, if not a bit too sweet. I think it was the caramel. I definitely want to get the Dark & Dulce (dark chocolate and dulce de leche accented with coarse ground sea salt) next time! My darling boyfriend spent over $200 for our date, but all in all, we had a blast dipping food, stuffing our faces, taking home the leftovers that didn't get to be eaten, and didn't leave until 12:30pm! Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I've never been to The Melting Pot before, but I took my boyfriend there for his 22nd birthday. We were 20 minutes late for our reservation and none of the staff seemed upset at all, although I felt very bad. I did the "touch of romance" add-on, which is rose petals spread across the table and small candles. He loved this, and it looked beautiful! Not sparse at all. The house mule was fantastic, as well as the espresso martini. The Irish coffee was a bit strong, but better that than not strong enough for the birthday boy. We got the dinner for two bigger night out and.....the lobster was absolutely worth the extra $8, without a question. Filet was amazing, salmon was amazing, and even the vegetables were great when dipped in their difference sauces. Such a wonderful experience. He said it was the best birthday he's ever had. Amazing dinner! We came for great plates and loved it. Since the last time I ate at a Melting Pot I was diagnosed with Celiac and now have to eat gluten free, and they offer an amazing selection. Everything (including drinks) is clearly marked GF or not on the menu and the waiter was super helpful and knowledgeable. We had delicious 4 cheese fondue w/veggies and gluten free bread, a variety of meats in Mojo broth, and a dark chocolate w/raspberry liquor chocolate fondue that came with gluten free pound cake and brownies for me. The gf brownies taste better than regular brownies! The great plates meal came with a bottle of wine, we got the moscato which was delicious. Great service and a great atmosphere. That will definitely be my last visit to the melting pot. I've never been so uncomfortable it was so hot in there. The ventilation needs much improvement. When there are hot steamy pots on every ones table the air should be turn up adequately to keep the place cool. The steam was in our faces the whole time. Nothing was that tastie and it ended costing so much more then we had anticipated. The drinks sure added up. I think I'll stick with restaurants that do the cooking for me and that I know are super good. Especially at those prices. Yikes! read more
