Amazing dinner at The Still Whiskey Steaks! I had the NY strip with mashed potatoes and a side of Brussels sprouts, and everything was freaking perfect. The Brussels sprouts were a WOW, so good. We ended with a shared bananas foster crème brûlée cheesecake, which was the perfect finish to the meal. Came here for graduation dinner and it was a great spot for a celebration dinner. Our server was fantastic really nice and made it a fun experience for the graduates. The atmosphere was warm and cozy and felt like a log cabin. The list is whiskey is extensive and had a great variety for each kind of whiskey drinker. I loved the old fashion flight which gave me the chance to try one of each. Since a few of us don't eat steak it was great that the menu had options for us, I loved my chicken and the tuna was amazing. Also had the Rocky Mountain Oysters for an appetizer -- OMG, the best we've had in Colorado or Wyoming for over 30 years! We got a round of drinks and everyone enjoyed theirs. I forget what I ordered but it was a gin cocktail and I liked it. My husband got the Old Fashioned flight over nitro and he liked them all. We started with the warm buns with honey butter and opted to get the melting tallow candle with it. Delicious. The bread was warm and served in a skillet and the butter and tallow were really the stars of the show. Super yummy. We shared an order of wings and they were fine. I like mine a little crispier, but still very enjoyable. My husband and I split the 12oz ribeye topped with bourbon caramelized onions and a side of mashed potatoes and veggie succotash. The sides were all great, especially the mashed potatoes. We asked for medium rare and the steak came out more on the rare side. It was an ok steak. A little grisly but tender and fatty. My ribeye looked a lot different than my friend's whose was leaner and less fatty. I'd consider ordering again because the flavor and seasoning was good. She told us about the special which was a surf and turf of Hanger Steak and seriously huge colossal shrimp so our guest and I ordered the special. My wife ordered the ribs. When the food came, the presentation was wonderful. The steak was medium rare with the right amount of pink in the middle making it buttery tender. The shrimp were plump and juicy and had the perfect amount of char. We are from Texas and we know BBQ, but my wife said the ribs were better than any BBQ we've had in Texas. Service is surprisingly mediocre when you're sitting at the bar - on the last visit (around 2pm on a weekday when it was relatively empty inside) our bartender spent the majority of her time at the very end chatting with other coworkers while we sat with empty glasses for a good 10-15 minutes at a time. After this visit, I think we'll opt for a table and a dedicated server. My main orders when I go here never change! Bourbon French onion soup, steak tips with the bourbon cream sauce, and the brussels sprouts - either with a Smoky Bear cocktail or a glass of wine. The French onion soup is always piping hot, wonderfully salty and full of rich broth and a hefty dose of caramelized onions. The steak tips are worth the splurge - they arrive in a skillet smothered in a delicious sauce of your choice, and crusty bread slices to soak up any leftover juices after you've polished off the dish. The brussels are honestly heaven-sent! Tender and coated in a slightly sweet cream sauce, studded with golden raisins and a crunch of candied walnuts throughout every bite.
