August 17, 2021 I've…read morebeen by there twice this week to volunteer to visit anyone that might be hanging outside (inside isn't allowed because of covid) The staff is nice and the place doesn't smell like a nursing home which is surprising! I'm impressed. They are (as is most nursing homes) short staffed. I met a few ladies who have no family that visit them... so sad. I will bring them cards and treats ...because it's what I would want if I were them. This location is literally the last street off the seawall before it changes names to FM 3005

This client I am sitting with hasn't had a bath in a while and I asked for assistance, I am still waiting! This client needs his diaper changed and they need to him get out of bed! The aide told me she is the only one working this floor and she'll come when she is done taking care of two other patience. I heard her yelling for help. And she told the other aide can you tell I'm overwhelmed? Not liking the vibe here at alljust heard another aide arguing and snapping with an elder! This list is just keeps getting longer and longer! Oh and I am still waiting for assistance. Tick tock Finally she came in and she is rude. I wouldn't recommend this place. The Meridian is way better!

You see staff hardly washing or using sanitizer. They don't have alot of hand sanitizer stations on wall like most places. But then again, this place is run out of an old school from the 1900's.Our mom was getting sick from all the mold everywhere.

He was depressed and not taking his medication regularly. A few days later he has a seizure. They took him to UTMB ER room Friday night and call me. After he was checked by the ER doctor, they said there was nothing wrong with him. Seizure happens occasionally with stroke victim as the brain recovers. Called tlc Saturday morning to see if we can get someone to help take him back there. Much to our surprise, TLC refuses to take him back. WTF!! Luckily Utmb admits him to the hospital. Called tlc up Monday morning, they tell me medical director refuses to take him back and will not even have the courtesy to talk to me in person. Well, that is one way to keep your success rate up, dump your more difficult patient off at the local ER room. My health insurance company tells me a few days later than it was I who didn't want to bring him back to TLC. No!!! You guys dumped him at the ER room!! Disgraceful on your part!!!' At least help me find some alternatives!!'

I'm not 100% sure where I found the other reviews for Unity, but they were enough when combined with my intuition to choose Unity. By the time it came to choosing hospice, my love had already been unable to assist in that choice. I know based on her interactions with nurse Barb & Beverly, that we made a great choice. We felt supported the entire journey. With medications, comfort, supplies, everything. More important, the staff were caring, loving and kind. Even though they must have been exhausted (we're in Galveston) they never let it show. They were nothing but care and love. My love is gone now and they stayed and supported us through texts and more. Im sure if you choose Unity, you will be very happy you did. I know my love is happy we did.

I contact my insurance Cigna and they also said I am no longer insured ! Why they submit a wrong report that stated I already passed away that lead the consequence Medicare Department cancelled my all my Part A & B benefits ? Now I have no health insurance since March 2025 ! I am suffering badly Diabetes , no way to get medicine ! Worst than that , I can't see my doctor for annual check up and dental treatment !
