They did have a huge play area right when you walked in and they took it out this year, our kids were bummed but we noticed parts of the playground were moved to different areas. We went the first week of October and there were plenty of pumpkins to choose from. You can either do pick them in the patch yourself or they do have some lined up in the front. My husband and I were looking for a beautiful venue with historic charm, & we were blessed to find this gem so close to home! Spending the morning at Venue3Two as we prepared for the ceremony was such a peaceful experience! As I got my hair & makeup done, as we got dressed, as we did our first look, as we took pictures with the bridal party, I was just amazed by the romantic elegance found in every corner & every room of the 1920s mansion! Then, after we returned from the ceremony at my church, one of my favorite moments of the day was bustling my dress in the bridal suite on the second floor & looking out the window to the backyard where I saw guests relaxing on the terrace & enjoying cornhole & giant jenga (outdoor games the venue provided). During the cocktail hour and reception, I loved being able to enjoy drinks in the great room as well as the charcuterie table in the dining room, being able to feel the sunshine through the large windows as we dined in the conservatory, & being able to find delicious desserts in the kitchen. Another one of my favorite parts of the venue was the fireplace in the great room where we displayed the family wedding photos on top of the mantle. Every time I walked past it, I found guests & other vendors taking a look at the photos which made me smile! We also had our engagement photos displayed on the giant TV in the conservatory which people loved to look at throughout the cocktail hour & reception! In the evening, the terrace was magical with its outdoor lights providing a perfect romantic setting for the rest of the night. I can't believe how smoothly everything ran throughout the day, and that is because of the incredible service provided by the Venue3Two team! They were very professional & attentive, and my venue coordinator, Stochia McDaniel, was so incredibly helpful as we discussed & planned the big day for several months! If your kiddos like to have fun and explore you need to visit the Grand Rapids Children's Museum. They have exhibits that change often that include local or even trending kids shows! The museum has two floors and has an elevator. They have an array of learning and interactive opportunities. You can find a list of days and times on their website! When we were there we got a chance to learn about music and the kids got to play some instruments. The museum is very inclusive and friendly! They offer sensory kits at the front desk if needed too! According to their website the "kits include noise reduction headphones, a weighted vest and suspenders, emotion recognition flashcards..." All the team members we have encountered have been kind and helpful! My only comment of suggestion would be for a little more adult seating in some of the "middle sections" of the museum. There are a few spots all along the walls but not much towards the middle. I understand it creates more opportunities for grownups to get involved with the kids too but for those of us with disabilities that need a minute to catch our breath it was difficult to find a spot close to where my kids were. Lots of interactive play and many memories made here! I highly suggest visiting. The rate to visit is $12 per person but they offer many types of discounted rates for different reasons. All rate information is available on their website. Parking can be a challenge as they do not have their own parking structure and the closest parking is side street meter parking that you can pay using the parking app. They do not validate parking.

I visited with a tween and teenager, so we were definitely a little older than the target age. That said, my children had a great time! I had to practically pull them away when it was time to leave. When we arrived, we were told to explore and "follow our hearts" around the museum. I loved that! This children's museum really encourages self-directed play, which is obvious by all of the fun, open-ended objects everywhere. You've got the giant blocks, magna-tiles, LEGO tables, pretend kitchen and house, and lots of other things. Both of my children gravitated to The Spin Zone, a three-tiered table that uses centrifugal force to power different objects. Upstairs, there's a bubble area, where you can create giant bubbles; a play house to pretend in; a train table to drive trains around; a makerspace to make stuff in; and an exhibit called Weathering Emotions, a walk-through spot where you can learn about and experience emotions. Some of these exhibits are permanent, and some are just visiting, so your visit might vary. I would say that the Grand Rapids Children's Museum is the perfect place for ages 2 to 10. Beyond that age, it's definitely fun, but it might not hold the attention of older kids. But that's OK! This children's museum is a space for the little kids, and that's perfect.

They really advertise for a much better experience than what is given in reality, including "on-Site and Transportation to and from the venue," which means that if equipment breaks down (and it did) that you are left waiting to pile onto a bus whenever they can get one to your guests. Walking into the space, all I could see was an awful slab floor. It looked as if they were still in renovation stage or something. Just awful. Your guests get one little coat rack that looks as if they bought it online, and it's in a back hallway as you make your way to the restrooms. It's a cramped space and I wonder why this place was so poorly built, but then I remembered what I call the 'benefactor factor,' and it became more and more clear. The only way that this place becomes "gorgeous," as it's been referred to in other posts, is if you spend a ton of money with a trained event professional (outside and separate cost, of course) to beautify it. Otherwise, you have a small room with a slab floor to work with. The only redeeming quality of the place is the outside deck.

They have rooms for hosting parties. Laser tag and dark mini golf / put-put available. Compared to Craig's Cruisers, their prices are half. The VR attraction would have been twice as much at Craig's Cruisers. If you want go-karts, go to Craig's Cruisers. Otherwise they have the same things besides go-karts. The little one is not really interested in the mini golf or laser tag so we just buy tokens.

You pay $3 for socks for the kid however none are needed for the adult and you only need to buy them once unless you lose them. Each additional adult is $5 which is more than reasonable for the amount of space and toys/activities they have! You can also utilize a lock that they provide to lock up your belongings. We will be visiting this awesome place at least once a week
