I travel quite a bit, these were close to the most disappointing ever.I asked the server not to take them off my ticket. I should have known better and "nessa" our server was a sweetheart of a gal. Gumbo was better than decent. Crab cakes less than average. The Boudin eggrolls were a slam dunk. Love Boudin, never thought of putting it in an eggrolls. I came last week with two coworkers. I love a crab boil and I always look for one when I'm out of town. Texarkana had a couple to choose from but I picked Mighty Crab because they had specials that I knew my coworkers would like and it looked clean online. They had never eaten a crab boil before so they were looking forward to it once I told them. They really loved the experience and the food. Everything was great all around. Looking to try some local seafood places so we went to the Mighty Crab at about 4:00 in the afternoon. The food tasted good, kids shared the $33 Friday special with crab, lobster, and shrimp in garlic butter and the wife had her own too in garlic butter mild spicy. I went with the $45 king crab legs, Cajun with medium spice, which only had two legs and didn't seem like a full pound to me...maybe it was, the service was good. I ended up finishing my wife's meal and bagged the kids shrimp to go. I however was disappointed to hear the male bartender cursing loudly to his coworkers, around not only my kids but the other children that were there too. I have been wanting to try crawfish for years but was always uneasy about them. This place has created a fan of crawfish!! Every bite was super flavorful. I'm really disappointed with this restaurant. I had pretty high hopes. This restaurant is on the high end for price. (Think like you're going to Joe's Crab Shack). The flavor of their food is excellent, don't get me wrong. But the most expensive item we ordered, they bombed at. I ordered the Saturday special (snow crab, lobster, shrimp) for $34 which came in a steam bag. STOP DOING THIS. It caused my lobster tail to be way over cooked, shriveled up and sad. The shrimp was better, maybe the shell saved it? The crab was the saddest part. All the meat was so over cooked it stuck to the sides of the shell. I couldn't pull any of it out. The legs wouldn't break cleanly, they were like bending rubber. They provided a plastic fork and a leg cracker. A plastic fork, y'all. Why?! The raw oysters were still attached. I'm used to most restaurants detaching them so they slide right off. Nope. Me and my tiny fork wrestled to pull off the oyster meat. They have their own drink menu. Creative, right? We asked what was in one of the drinks before ordering. Server left and came back. We were told "xyz, but the bartender said we can't tell you everything because it's their own creation." Okay, bartender... I can appreciate that you have your own craft, but we aren't there to steal your drink menu. You have a duty to your customers to disclose what are in the products you sell. I went to the location in Texarkana, upon going to the bathroom there were NO pape towels to dry your hands, the faucet was running at a slow stream (it wouldn't shut off) and the trash cans were overflowing where trash was all over the floor. We decided to try this restaurant because we wanted something Cajun, spicy, and seafood and they had it all. We ordered the Saturday special and my husband and i shared a pound of crawfish. The crawfish were triple the going price right now! They tasted different than fresh crawfish that we get from other places. The food was ok but not worth the $114 for two people. The food comes out in big bags that hold allot of juice so make sure you wear the bibs!! And get plenty of napkins because you will need them. We will not be back. read more

We went to Mighty Crab for the first time on January 4th, 2024. The drinks were awesome. The bartender was great. The food however was different. I was supposed to have mild but they mixed mine up and made it hot. I sent it back. I'm assuming they rinsed it off and boiled it again. I've been eating seafood since I was a kid. The amount of seasoning on the food was way too much. It was just clumped on everything. I love some seasoning but that was way too much. The hot I got the first time burned my mouth so bad I couldn't enjoy the food after they redid it. I hate to spend that much money and can't taste my food because they messed up. read more

This restaurant caters to people that do not know what good boiled seafood is suppose to taste like. I am from South Louisiana, New Orleans. I've been cooking and eating seafood all my life. In fact I have an unwritten rule that people from Louisiana should never waste seafood. I confess that I ate most of the seafood served at this restaurant. The boil crab was overcooked and most of the meat was mushy. I was glad that they gave me a bib and gloves because all of the seafood was oily. I have never eaten boiled seafood that is floating in oil. So far five hours after eating the food I am not sick. If you know what good boiled seafood is supposed to taste like you may want to steer clear of this restaurant. I have a feeling that whoever cooked my shrimp and crab used Asian seasoning. That's the only way I can explain why my seafood was floating in so much the oil! Spicy Chinese and Thai food uses spicy hot pepper oil to flavor their food. Gulf seafood should be boiled in Shrimp/Crab Boil (I like Zatarain's) with salt, onions, lemons, garlic and bay leaves. What you put on it, after you boiled it, is up to you! read more

Y'all......ohh my goodness! This place was delicious!!!! The outside of the building doesn't say mighty crab it just says seafood bar. Once inside it's super clean and decorated very cute with fish and crabs and even sharks hanging everywhere. But most importantly the fish.....tasted so fresh and was very hot. We got our food very fast. They have three options for fry's, regular Cajun or sweat potato. The Cajun aren't super spicy. Taste like a traditional curly fry but straight. Delicious! We got the lunch portion and could definitely split it. Our waitress was also so sweet and very attentive with out being smothering. We asked to speak to the manager to tell them how happy we were with service and food and she was incredibly sweet as well. We drove about an hour and a half for business and definitely will just road trip next time we want some delicious fish! Next time we want to try the fish sliders! Great new seafood restaurant here in Texarkana. We got a bag of muscles, crab and shrimp and it was plenty for 3 people. A little on the pricey side, but everything was fresh and delicious. Recommend combining Cajun and Garlic Butter, on its own it was mild enough for my 6 year old. The corn was sweet and the potatoes soaked up the yummy broth. Looking forward to Blue Crab season! I just wish they offered cocktail, tartar and remoulade sauce on the side. read more
