Fantastic renovation and atmosphere. I met a few friends there for lunch. We ate on the second floor dinning area. They have done a fantastic job with the renovations. Open beam ceiling and the brick walls gives you a feeling like you sitting in a 100 year old building. AC was working great and the lighting is just right. Oh yeah the food. The menu has been upgraded, fantastic choices, excellent meal, great prices and service. This has become one of my favorite places to eat. read more

Went there on 3/12/2016 the food was very good. Tried the pizza, a salad and a sandwich. The place is very clean, bathrooms also clean and new. Prices were very good. Desert was excellent as well. Love that it is a BYOB! We will definitely be back here. The best thing about this place is the staff!! They were very nice and friendly and checked several times if things were okay with the meal. Gonna prefix this with the fact that this was probably their first busy day open with most people having holiday tomorrow. We got take out. The wait staff was nice and the food was prepared fairly quickly. (15 mins at 5PM). We got the chicken cheesesteak, wood fired wings and the pear salad. While waiting it appeared to be a bit hectic with food for eat in customers on the take out counter while others were ordering. Seemed lik we they had very little room to hold items for orders and the staff was busy between the upstairs eat in and the busy take out waiting room Cheesesteak looked average and my daughter liked it. The wings were ok. Just barely cooked though, could've probably used another 5-10 mins to be perfect. The skin wasn't crispy, like I like wings, and I think they forgot the garlic and parmesan cheese because there was no flavor other than the wood. I was a little miffed with the wood fired pear salad. I usually don't buy salads out because I can make them at home for 1/4 the price but, this sounded really good, wood fired pears, gorgonzola cheese, candied nuts, yum, how could you go wrong?...Well when I got home I found there was no cheese or candied nuts. The 1/2 pear was good but could have used some more because there was enough lettuce for 3 salads. I'd try this place again but, I'll wait until they have a few months under their belt. read more

What a disappointment! We ordered 2 pizza's, different toppings and they were burnt! Then, to my surprise, they make Poutine! Well, being a natural French Canadian, I was THRILLED.... Until I opened the plate when I got home and was greeted with slop! The fries were burnt, the gravy was way too dark because it was burnt. There were like 3 pieces of curd cheese they imported from Wisconsin, not Canada. And they mixed it all together! WHAT?! Everyone KNOWS we do NOT mix the gravy, cheese and fries together!! We top the fries with cheese THEN add the gravy on top. No mixing! I've been eating Poutine for 37 years, never have I had something so disappointing. I may just try one more time but not on a Friday night because THAT cook is horrible! Perhaps I should let them know that a connaisseuse is coming in to try that Poutine again before I add my stamp of approval on that dish. read more

Everything there is so amazing!! I've had cheesesteak egg rolls, Caesar salad, BLTA, house made chips, fries, wood fired wings, bruschetta, and some pizza with spinach, tomato, ricotta on it I believe? I've tried it all haha! My mom and I have been to The Mill several times since it reopened. We love it. The service is phenomenal. I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. The upstairs is really nice. It is rustic and has a country flair to it. The food is awesome. The prices are relatively cheap considering the portion sizes. The homemade potato chips have a really great taste. Needless to say that we will keep coming back to The Mill. read more

An historical landmark. The newly transformed mill a is heartwarming and sincere homage to local history. Much of the century old interior has been painstakingly preserved and restored. Very unassuming and understated exterior gives way, upon entering, to a bustling and vibrant interior. If you're local to the area and have not given patronage, doing so will not be a disappointment. Hats off to locals Greg Moore and the Moore family for this charming gesture to local history. Had the cheese streak egg rolls as appetizer and the fire-roasted sausage and pepper sandwich. Came here with a friend expecting a basic pizza joint. But, it is so much more. Sitting upstairs the decor is very cozy and whereas the pizza was really good, they had a pork loin special that was just amazing. Afterward the chef stopped by for a chat, which was a great touch. Also, I very appreciated that when I clumsily knocked half my pizza on the floor they replaced it with a personal pan of the same variety at no charge. Great menu and selection. Visited on a Saturday afternoon with our two kids and everyone found something yummy on the menu. We ordered an appetizer and our kids ordered a pizza and salad to split. We were seated and served our appetizer and told that all forks were being washed and there were none available. No big deal because the app was a finger food anyway. When our food was served, we asked again for silverware, napkins and plates. None arrived so we made due by taking the dishes that the appetizer had been served on (and had not been cleared) and our kids began to eat the pizza and saved the salad for when forks were ready. They ate the entire pizza and still no forks. After waiting a bit longer, they began eating the salad with their fingers. This is when it would have been nice to have had those napkins! Finally I see that a tub of silverware has been brought up to the dining room but also see that our server is not remembering that there is a table that has been waiting. I approach our server and try to joke that the kids are eating salad with their hands and she rolls her eyes. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, we just didn't appreciate the service...at all. The Mill offers take out which means a supply of plastic forks. Our server preferred to blame the dish washers than to problem solve and think of the need of her customers. The car ride home was spent discussing how to visit the Mill again but avoid the pretentious service. Maybe take out is the better option and avoid the dinning room. read more

Waited for food for 40 minutes in dining area with a 3 year old and 5 year old. No refills, no crayons, or asked if we needed anything. Owner sat next to us schmoozing with group with full table of wine and time to spare. Saw other people leave too. All I care about is service. Could be worst food I ever had. Service is #1. This is a really nice environment for dining. I have been there twice with the same result. Good food but these people are really confused and to get a cheesesteak and sausage sandwich you could wait up to 45 minutes and then it's either missing the side orders or they just bring you something you did not order. I'm sorry to say that I will not go again, it's not worth the hassle. read more

We really enjoyed the delicious pizza (the Insalata and The Ticket) -- both had fresh and flavorful toppings and we loved the wood-fired crust. We'll definitely be back sometime soon to sample the sandwiches, which also look great. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious and we liked the decor (exposed brick and beams/ fireplace). The fact that it's a BYOB is also a plus! My only recommendation would be to run the AC a little cooler because the oven really heats up the whole place -- especially on a humid summer night! read more

After hearing great things about The Mill from my staff, I was persuaded to contact Danielle to cater a team event. Danielle was quick to respond to my needs and provided options for 27 people and kept me within budget. When the time came to pick up the food, it was freshly prepared and ready to go. They even helped load up my car. I had no issues transporting the food to the location. We also received a surprise of freshly baked, warm chocolate chip cookies which were the hit of the event! The food was great and everyone was happy. I would highly recommend using them for any business functions, whether it be a small meeting or a large team event. Great Home cooked food, right off the northeast extension at Lansdale exit! We've grabbed sandwiches to go there several times, and eaten in once or twice in the last month. Huge portions on sandwiches, home-made potato chips. They do a lot in their wood-fired oven, and the roast pork sandwich was fabulous. Also great Italian hoagie, and fresh-roasted turkey on the club sandwich. Service a little slow, but the quality of the food makes up for that - it's not 'fast food.' Very enthusiastic folks behind the counter. We will keep going there! read more

The appetizers and sandwiches were creative and not the same old stuff.Very Nice ambiance with a working fireplace on a cold night. It's been months since I have been back to The Mill because it was dead to me. The service was that poor that I could not muster the energy to go back when debating local food options. This all changed today, however, when we went back for an early lunch and we were pleasantly surprised and nearly shocked. I think enough bad chatter over the past year caused some change management and training to occur and this lead to a better customer experience. My rating is based solely on the service. I have been going to this restaurant for years. We love the food, but the service is atrocious. Last night was the final straw, we were seated, and greeted. A table of 4 was seated 5 minutes after us. Up comes an appetizer for them. Then the waitress greets them and gets their drinks. We receive our drinks. She then proceeds to take their order and walks away. She returned 5 minutes later to take ours. We wait and wait for our food. The table next to us gets their food before us. It is just ongoing with experiences like this one, slow service, we wait and wait for drinks, or our appetizer doesn't come until our entrees come. I will say again, the food is always good, and the place is very quaint, but the owner/management will never get the service down!!!!! read more

This place is a must!! I've been here a few times now when I have classes up here. I always get something different and have yet to be disappointed. Sam does an excellent job with the pizzas and the cook(s) in the back always make my meals just the way I ordered them. The wait staff is top shelf as well! Every time I'm here, it's packed but the service never suffers. You get more than your money's worth with the portions of food they serve. The only thing lacking is a decent dessert menu but I'll definitely keep coming back!! read more

LOVE!!! A friend and I tried this little hidden gem for a Saturday lunch and wow! We split things so we could try three of their dishes and each one was terrific. My only negative is that the pizza was a little too charred on the bottom, but it was so delicious I could overlook that. We tried the Reuben fries, the fried dough burger (really different!), and the truffle bacon pizza -- we took a lot home, needless to say! The ambiance is wonderful. This place is right by my home. They've done a nice job on the re-do and it seems to thrive. Did wood-fired pizza take out and all good. Dined there tonight and hope it was a bad night: Two of three orders badly screwed up. Salad: requested cheese substitution. Sent with original cheese. Sent back. Returned with right cheese. Oh yeah, no walnuts. Had to be brought separately. Cheesesteak: Ordered with marinara and hot peppers. Missing the marinara. Hot peppers almost non-existent. Brought separately. Got home. Realized they never gave us the cheese. Waitress pleasant and apologetic. After multiple meal delays and screw ups, one would expect a conciliatory offer - perhaps a free beverage. Nada. Food, once it was intact, was ok. Think it was a bad day. But not sure I'd go back to this neighborhood eatery. Worst food mix ups I've experienced. Ever. read more
