    Kids chicken fingers and fries

Came here with my girlfriend for a Tuesday night dinner! It was great we were seated right away and our server was great! Food: sexy fries- is a must they are so tasty and couldn't get enough of it Chicken sandwich with fries- it was big and I had to cut it in half it was good and not dry Parking was great lots is parking spots. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the restaurant is a little dark but it was fine[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to come back and try the shrimp and grits - I heard this was amazing !

Cute little seating area near the bar

We stopped in here for brunch on a whim bc our usual place was too packed. We were seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was big inside and decorated really nicely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a full bar and a private room in the back separated by beautiful sliding barn doors. The service was prompt and attentive. We tried 3 items from the brunch menu and each one was delicious. I plan to try it again for dinner! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only small thing I would mention was that the bathrooms were not great. Dark, cold and sort of dinghy. Not filthy but not super clean, either. Could have just been messy people before me, but lots of soap dripping down the wall[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Certainly not bad enough to downgrade the stars tho. I'm a big one for bathroom cleanliness = kitchen cleanliness.... Lo

Great calamari- most likely hand dusted with light coating.

Third visit to Butcher for lunch. I enjoy the rotating featured preparation of wings and mussels that are listed on the blackboard, though I skipped bc mussels were fra Diavlo and wings Buffalo- and stomach didn't want spice. I opted for calamari- freshly dredged, not pre-coated and frozen/ tasteless. Delicious: lightly coated, more like a tempura, not greasy, calamari tasted like....calamari! (Which, even at best, doesn't taste like much unless you're near the sea and it's fresh caught). Also included were hot peppers ( maybe fresnos and jalapeños?) that I sampled and were also good but had to skip. Portion wasn't huge, but it is just an appetizer and priced as such. My friend's blt with salmon was said to be good and came with fries or salad choice, a nice option. Alas, the beer list, only listed on blackboard and kinda hard to see with my mediocre eyes ( no printed tap list- I asked!), is just too IPA-heavy with Christmas ales and such taking up valuable space. Hey, I'm not against interesting craft brews, but there wasn't a regular pale ale, Pilsner, or lager on tap. I did enjoy my Great Divide yeti imperial stout however; just sharing my opinion that too much niche craft choices were a bit limiting. Bartender was also waiting tables, perhaps stretched a bit thin. After initial check in, I then sat at bar for @ 10 minutes waiting to order a beer which is a bit annoying since the seats at bar were mostly empty....and I was thirsty! Probably just a timing thing bc she was on top of things afterwards. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, I like this place- interesting menu, craft brews, nice interior, easy parking in lot, reasonable prices.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I had a Breakfast Stoudt and Pliny IPA, both were served in nice glassware. My female friend had a Toffee martini (IIRC) and a "hard" lemonade cocktail. Sorry, can't remember the names, but both were good. We ordered a basket of fries in between. We sat in the large dining area and had really good service from our server and had two others check-in on us regularly to refill water, etc. It was the perfect level of service for two people taking up a dining room table to basically drink. The dinner crowd poured in and out without too much noise. TVs had the Winter Olympics on at a low volume. I wanted to move to the bar but she wasn't interested, but I did see the pool table and game area when we walked in, and I'd love to check out the outdoor deck area sometime. This place definitely has more to offer than its outward appearance would make you think. Other reviews called it a "dive" bar but I didn't really get that vibe.

It took several minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and even longer before we received menus. Once we finally had them, we were given plenty of time to review our options. I initially ordered the Loaded Ranch Egg Rolls and asked if they could be made without the ranch sauce. The server politely explained that the sauce was pre-mixed and could not be removed. No problem. I skipped the appetizer and decided on the Chicken and Waffles instead. That's when I was told they were out of waffles but could substitute pancakes. I'm still not sure how a restaurant can be out of waffles but not pancakes, but I moved on. Next, I ordered a Chicken Cheesesteak with vodka sauce. I specifically asked about the vodka sauce because it was offered on their meatball sub. The server assured me it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, it was a problem. My Chicken Cheesesteak arrived with marinara sauce instead of the vodka sauce I had requested and been assured was available. To make matters worse, the receipt showed an additional charge and clearly listed marinara sauce. The sandwich itself was also disappointing. As a cheesesteak, it appeared to have little to no cheese on it. If there was cheese, the amount was so minimal that I genuinely couldn't tell it was there. Between the slow service, unavailable menu items, incorrect order, lackluster food quality, and being charged extra for the wrong sauce, this was a very disappointing dining experience.

I've visited this place twice now and usually I'm not too inspired to write a review, but my visit…read morelast night really showed how much I enjoy the general vibe and especially the food of this place. When you enter this place its at ground level and immediately you recognize you need to take the stairs up. Once you usher yourself up it opens up to two areas where you wait to be seated. The place is an older vintage like gastropub where the front is one bar and some seating, but on the backside is more open seating with where the band and another bar are situated. This place isn't meant to be for large groups, but could possibly accommodate groups of 6. The main bar which also next to the kitchen is an older vintage style bar and whisky's is nothing special but once you sit down and hear the music you settle in nicely. Service has always been courteous and prompt and the menu looks like there are a good assortment of choices. The two times I've been here I've ordered the mussels which includes great sauce and spread with seasoned ground meet. Was so yummy! The second time I came I tried the CHICKEN FRICASSEE. Man was that great! It includes 4 pieces of bread, chicken and the mushroom sauce. So good! Both times I had some of their assortment of single scoop ice-cream which in this area, something about the milk from their amish cows is so creamy. All that said, this is one of my fav places to come enjoy a glass of wine and food. Oh and Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday's they have some instrumental band playing too.

In a recent visit to Lancaster I did some searching online for places to eat and followed the recommendations to the Horse Inn. Sooo happy we did!! The food was amazing. Hats off to the owners and chefs! Only bad thing is we don't live close by and we can't go back soon. But we will be back!! Special mention to our wonderful fun server, Luis, who made the experience even better for us! Give that guy a raise. THANK YOU!!

We ordered the pork belly bao buns for an app. The pork was painfully dry and the buns themselves were also dry and brittle. We do not recommend at all. Three of us ordered Thai chicken and my wife ordered the Bangkok bowl. The ingredients were fresh and carefully selected, as the dish had a slightly sweet curry sauce on it. The chicken thigh was on top of a bed of short grain brown rice appropietly cooked for the dish. Veggies such as broccoli and eggplant were around the edges. The Bangkok bowl was slightly different as the samosas had a fair amount of heat to them. The waiter recommended mixing them with the rice and fried chickpeas, which worked well. For dessert, the rose and cardamom coffee glee had little rose flavor. I asked and they said it was infused as well as the garnish on top, but I failed to taste it. Ditto for the chocolate orange ganache, in which I could not taste the orange flavor. No points lost, the deserts were still better than average, not too sweet.
