This place isn't exactly around the corner from our home in Philadelphia but we make the 30 mile trek up here because the food is so good and ambience and rustic decor are really top notch. This was actually a mill at one point and turned into an eatery with some of the best gourmet pizza, salads, and sandwiches in the philadelphia area. Today I got my favorite veggie pizza (pepperoni added), also a grilled pear salad for both of us, and my wife got the eggplant bruschetta sandwich which she loved. We've eaten here three times now. The buffalo chicken Stromboli is amazing. Personal size could feed two easily with a side of fries. I've had a burger and a sandwich. Both good; not amazing but good. There is one waitress we've had every time. She's nice enough but not very attentive. I always have to wave her down to get a drink refill or something. Never checks on you after you get your meal. Otherwise good little place to eat. I would assume takeout is just as good. read more

In 4 years or so, I have been to this restaurant 6 times. Each time I go, I wait 10 minutes to get water on average and 15 minutes to order. 40-50 minutes from the time I sit down, food is brought to the table. The last two times I have been there, the french fries were cold and greasy. My burger, that was ordered rare, was medium. I was telling a couple friends about the experience, and they shared similar experiences. Before these last two visits, the food was great, so the wait wa marginally worth it. I will not go again. I never thought I would say this, but The Mill has gone downhill. I had the absolute worst experience this past weekend. I was excited to bring my family and boyfriend's family for a great meal, and I was embarrassed that we went here. The restaurant was not busy. We had sat upstairs in the main dining area, and ordered almost immediately. People began to come in and sit down. These people were served their meals before we received ours. All we had ordered was sandwiches and pizza. This should not take an hour. The server said that she would check on the food twice. She never did the first time. After finally checking on the food, she blamed it on the one pizza my table ordered (for holding up the rest of the meals). After an hour we finally get our food. The pizza was ice cold. How does a pizza take an hour to make? If the pizza was holding up our 5 other sandwiches, why was it served ice cold? Server then proceeds to blame the kitchen (something you should never do). She finally brings out a fresh pizza once everyone is almost done. Green, unripe tomatoes were served on the pizza. It was not the best. If it's not ripe, don't use it. We also ordered a bbq mac and cheese burger. It sucked. There were about 10 mac and cheese noodles. All dried out. The pork was dry. The burger cooked well instead of medium. The frenchie missing onion dip on the sandwich. The dip on the side overly salty. Salad missing dressing. One of the salads never came out. Had to ask for it. My last disappointment was with the overall service. Our waitress was new, and was totally not on the ball. Everyone starts somewhere. I get that. But her blaming the kitchen was unacceptable. She also didn't know basic information. Additionally, the food runner should not put his hands inside the plates and bowls when serving food. Gross. I will not be returning to the Mill. read more

This has been our go to place for take out when we head up to the Poconos. Throughout COVID they have been very helpful in making sure that the quality stays the same. And they have succeeded! Our go tos are the Housemade Wood-Fired Sausage on wood-fired roll and The Ticket pizza on cauliflower pizza crust. Sadly I don't have any pictures because we seem to gobble it up too quickly. What can I say about the Mill. The food is delicious. The portions are great, and the price is very good. The staff and Danielle the owner are wonderful people. They treat you like family. We stopped in The Mill for a quick lunch on our way to a wedding. The Mill has options for both take out and dining in. There is a formal dining room upstairs as well seating on the first floor. We ordered our food at the counter which they brought to our table. My husband and I ordered the chicken pot pie. Our friends ordered a Greek salad and the Truffle Bacon pizza. The chicken pot pie was both tasty and filling. It was served with the pastry on the side instead of a biscuit crust. It was still good but not what I expected. Our friends seemed to have enjoyed their food too. I tried a bite of their pizza and it was delicious. The crust was awesome, well made, and of course everything is better with bacon. The toppings were fresh and worked well together to form a well made pizza. Service was good throughout our meal. They answered our questions and waited patiently as we decided what we wanted. It took about ten minutes to eat one piece of room temperature pizza (supposed wood fired) and fries after the fries went to the wrong table. What an unassuming, fantastic gem right off the Northeast Extension of the Turnpike! On the drive back to Scranton on Friday night, we dropped by here at the peak dinner rush of 6:30-7 PM. Hostess told us it was a 35-40 minute wait and we were willing to wait out of sheer hunger and the fact that everything on the platters sauntering by looked and smelled delicious. Waiting area is a little tough when it's packed, only 2 seats right in front of the restroom, and I was curious as to why there was an empty, unused side dining room, along with the empty one downstairs. Weird setup as the servers had to walk up and down stairs hauling heavy platters of food, hoping they don't bump into patrons on the way down. Despite the weird setup/wait times, we actually only ended up having to wait 25 minutes tops, so they're really good at managing crowds/expediting/getting folks in, fed, and out. And that food made up for it. The main dining room is adorable with really old Americana charm, like exposed beams and stone. We started with an order of their mild Mill wings which were nice and meaty and in a really great buffalo sauce. I'm picky with wings and these checked all the boxes. For entrees, we got the cheesesteak with fries & 2 pizzas (1 margherita & 1 apple/bacon). Everything was well received. Fries were boardwalk style - always a plus. Margherita was very tasty with sweet sauce, which I like, and basil was fresh. But that apple/bacon was amazing. Fresh slices of apple, crunchy crunchy bacon bits and melty gorgonzola cheese, it was everything I want in a pizza and more. Service was really friendly, efficient and quick. Not an area I would normally be in but if I ever get a hankering for solid grub on the Turnpike, I'm stopping here. read more

Wowsers that fried dough burger was phenomenal! The French onion dip appetizer was incredible, super fresh. The cheesesteak tater tots were very tasty, but lacking in steak. The sour cream worked well with it, but left something to be desired. Beer cheese was top tier. My wife had the Buffalo chicken personal pizza, she enjoyed it. It was spicier than expected but I like that. The only downside was it came out not hot, but they were busy. Service was great, very kind and helpful. Very responsive to the kitchen slow to send out a chicken pot pie and a side order of fries. If we are grading flavor, 9.3/10. Service 8.9/10. I give 4 stars, check it out for yourself at least once! Conviently located walking distance from the hotel I was staying, this was quite a gem! We did eat here a couple times during our stay and enjoyed each time. The main level has a counter you can order and either take out or eat within with limited seating. The upstairs is a full service restaurant with the same menu. I suggest to order the Frenchie. It is the perfect mixed of ingredients where one item does not over power the other. Plenty big in size and you really do not want to stop eating it because it is so delicious! Others in my group enjoyed their wood-fired pizzas but all wanted to come back to eat the Frenchie. The place is clean and busy! The staff are young as they climb up and down stairs all day. First time here , ordered a pizza and some burger tots, pizza was ok , but not was I expected, it looked and tasted like on of the frozen pizza from ACME, crust not good and the marinara sos was not cooked . The impression was just like buying a frozen pizza tossed in a convection oven and then added some marinara sos from the can , anyway ..., the major problem was with my wife's burger tots , the meat was old and had a very bad smell , she got couple of bites and then we put that away. the service was really good, our waitress was very nice and when we told her about the BT she acted very responsive and went back to the kitchen to solve the issue. Bottom line is that we just got home and my wife has a really bad food poisoning from the few bites that she had.... I would not recommend this place to anyone, so sorry we are not a picky couple and trust me we know restaurants and food, this place is a joke and a health hazard . read more

Yummy! I went with my boyfriend while we were in the area (he was showing me his hometown). We ordered a traditional pizza and a side of sweet potato fries to share. The pizza was made fresh, and was absolutely delicious. It tasted like the added garlic butter to the crust-- love it! Sweet potato fries were also delicious. Great price, great taste, and very kind/accommodating staff. The restaurant had a rustic farmhouse feel-- very beautiful. Glad we were able to stop by. Thank you Yelp. I was in the area at the farm down the street and was looking for something quick and casual but not fast food. Enter - The Mill. The Mill serves as both a takeout pizza joint and a sit down restaurant. We opted to not do table service, but instead, order our food from the counter and eat at a self serviced dining area (like your local pizza shop). The pizza and wings we ordered were a slight notch above a mom and pop pizza place. Presentation is definitely way better, but it tasted pretty much the same. Slight ding against the service: we ordered a mushroom pie and a plain pie came out. I advised the person (possibly the cook) that I ordered mushroom and she brought it back in the kitchen. A few minutes later, a different person brought out that same plain pie and I had to explain my dilemma yet again. Third time's a charm and while it did come out accurately this time, it was obvious they just sautéed mushrooms and placed them on top. My Buffalo Bomb, however, was in fact the bomb. Each bite had tremendous flavor, and the chicken-to-roll ratio tipped towards the chicken, which made each bite meaty and filling. I actually only ate half of it and was stuffed. The very next day, I ate the other half and was just as satisfied. The fries we ordered and accompanied my chicken sandwich were fried to perfection. Fresh cut boardwalk fries had me reminiscing of the jersey shore. Sweet potato fries had that nice snap to them. Outside of the mushroom hiccup, I thought it was a good dining experience. Staff is very friendly and the takeout setup had a nice array of condiments, plates and napkins at our disposal. My only recommendation is for them to add malt vinegar as a condiment - can't have boardwalk fries without the vinegar! The Mill is a great spot for high quality sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and snacks. They offer both byob dine-in and take-out. I've done both multiple times, but typically just take out. The menu has some really cool options that aren't just your run of the mill (no pun intended) local pizza/sandwich shop usual suspects. They incorporate high-quality ingredients and creativity into all of their menu items. They make their own chips, do poutine and rueben fries, have a long list of awesome steak sandwiches, offer plenty of other burgers and sandwiches, and do pizzas with everything from truffle oil to crab. Some of my favorites are the poutine (not many places around here doing poutine fries), the Danny Boy (a twist on the famous Schmitter), the Italiano (my wife's absolute favorite), the Frenchie (delicious spin on the French Dip with French onion dip spread on the bun), the buffalo bomb (a extra spicy chicken cheesesteak with jalapenos, bacon, and house hot sauce), the grilled pear salad, and the seafood pizza (shrimp, clam, bacon, but no longer on the menu...). I also had a really cool experience my first time there. After months and months of watching people go in and out working to get the Mill ready to open, there was a night (I believe we were just getting back home from the airport after a trip to Mexico) when we drove by and saw the light on and the restaurant fully functioning. So we decided to pull in and check it out. It didn't take long until we found out this was a soft opening for family and friends. We were talking to one of the owners and shared with her how excited we were that they were opening up finally and she decided to send us home with a free pizza instead of just asking us to try back in a few days. All that being said, I do have some critiques. The pizza is good, but 2.8 miles down the other end of Bustard sits the best pizza in the area. Tough to compete with them in the pizza game, but the sandwiches can save them. Also, there aren't enough low price items on the menu. There are only 2 items that are $5 or less, fries and chips, but they're not even served with a dipping sauce. I'd love to see more items around this price, because it doesn't make sense to get a $7-11 appetizer when you can get a $8-10 sandwich or cheesesteak and get your money's worth. Lastly, I wish they were open on Sundays and/or Mondays. It just doesn't sense to me that a place that makes basically upscale tailgate and bar food, isn't open on football Sundays when the country is most likely to order take-out. Those are by far the most common days that I feel like stopping in, but I remember they're closed and have to look elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, I do really like the Mill, they treated us great that first night and we've enjoyed a lot of food here, but I just think there's some areas to improve to get them to a 5-star in my eyes. Terrible customer service! I placed a take out order tonight that was suppose to be ready at 5:33. I showed up at 5:30 and they were missing my pizza. Instead of apologizing and explaining their mistake they said nothing, talked to each other about messing up and I had to wait 15 additional minutes for them to make my pizza. There was absolutely no apology or acknowledgment for their mess up. This is not my first experience with them missing a pizza and having to wait for them to make it. With all the people working in the takeout/pizza area this should not be a common occurrence. read more

Had very poor customer service when I went to pick up an order during lunch time. Was told 20 minutes and waited there 25-30 minutes while they cooked the meal. Asked to speak to a manager and was told there was none of the floor. No apology at the time and was told they were slammed, was Saturday during lunch and told they had only 1 person cooking in the back. Food was good and was happy they were able to give an option of turning a sandwich into a salad since I'm gluten free. Danielle, the manager, called me later to apologize and said she had an emergency which is why she was not there but they were other managers who I could have spoken with.
