We were driving through the area on a long road trip, and were looking for lunch with a view. We found it! What a great stop. Great scenery of the mountains (though mostly of the golf course). The interior is a little dark/gloomy, but the view out the windows is a dream! The food was also pretty good! We had the blackened tuna bites appetizer, which was the real standout. So tender, so well-seasoned. Really excellent. I had the fish sandwich as my main with sweet potato fries. Both tasted great, and the portion size was reasonable. We were impressed at the extent of the menu and the range of options for people with different dietary needs and preferences. We'd be back for sure if we find ourselves in the area again! read more

The menu was very basic, sandwiches, hamburgers, the like for lunch. Ordered the steak & cheese and the Cuban for mom & I. Hubs got pepperoni pizza. Pleasantly surprised how well simple food was executed - crispy bread, yummy sauce ratio - all delish. Hubs loved his pizza too. Service was wonderful small-town nice. This place is staffed by a bunch of people who would prefer to be elsewhere, with a few rare exceptions. So, the first impression was not positive. Regarding the food, it felt like the same lack of interest came with the food. I ordered the Delmonico Steak (medium rare) for dinner. When it arrived, it did not really look like a 14 oz rib eye. It was something less. Flat, like it was pressed and definitely lacking in size. When I cut into it, the steak was cooked well done. No hint of pink anywhere. Although I did not send it back, I probably should have or ordered something else. My friends at the table ordered burgers and said they were good. So I guess that was the better route to take. Since I was staying overnight to play golf the next day, I thought I would give this place another try. At the turn, I picked up a few hot dogs that were handed to me by a very pleasant your lady with a big smile on her face. Maybe things were turning for the better? After our round was complete, we came in for lunch. I opted for a chicken wrap. It was fine. No problems with this order. I guess the net is you will get inconsistency on both food and service. Stopped in for lunch while on the road. Staff was friendly, but seemed to have a hard time keeping up with clearing the tables, as all the tables around us still had dishes everywhere. Food was decent, made correct and served hot and fast. If you sit in the back there's a semi-decent view of the hills in the distance. Came out of Shenandoah National Park hungry AF while heading to Harrisonburg, VA. FYI, you don't get reception, at all in the park. Put this in your GPS beforehand. That being said, the staff is absolutely wonderful, scenery is beautiful, and the food is great. Had the Italian lemon chicken w a baked potato and side salad. Everything was on point. This is a country club grill, but anyone can come, and dress is casual. We were looking for good chicken for lunch and found it. They sat us on a nice indoor porch with views of all the golfers teeing off. I got chicken tenders meal with a baked potato, biscuit, and honey mustard sauce. It came with honey and butter and sour cream. He got the Chicken in the rough - which is just what they call their special blend of fried chicken. The fries it came with were thin, crispy, and magical. It was the perfect lunch stop on our way home from walking through caverns. read more

We went there with our son, daughter-in-law and grand daughter on February 11, 2024. I ordered an old fashioned with Woodford bourbon. It was horrible. There was no sugar, the cherry was mashed up and the very small shot of bourbon was completely masked by the glass of ice water added to the drink. At $12, you would think they would know how to make a proper old fashioned. My wife ordered the reuben sandwich. The meat that came out on it resembled something far and away from corned beef. She notified the waitress and the waitress said it looked like the kitchen messed up and put a burger patty instead of corned beef. They remade it, and the second goa around was just as bad...the meat (still not sure it was corned beef) was brown. Wife refused to eat it. Grand daughter had a burger. The patty was dry and overcooked. She only had a couple of bites. I had the fried fish sandwich. It was very greasy and the tomato was way under ripe and hard. No complaints from son or dil. Not likely to visit here again unless some serious changes are made -- new management, trained (or new) bartender, better food quality control. read more

I stayed at the shenvalee for three days and I ate at Miller Grille all the days I was there: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I actually enjoyed everything that I had there. The staff were nice and kind, it was a friendly atmosphere. The club sandwich, I had that everyday for lunch and I think it is the best. I feel like their breakfast menu was limited and was not a lot of options to choose from but overall, this is a great place to eat at. read more

We went here on our way from TN to NY and stopped in Va for the night. It was a torrential downpour so we decided to stop for a drink and a bite before we checked in to our Airbnb. The Grille is part of a beautiful golf course. The restaurant was a hodge podge of design. There was the bar area with seating at tables and bar, then there was a private room that is all glass in front of the bar that has seating for about 30. They have a variety of beer on tap and in bottles, they also have wine and mixed drinks. We ordered the Thai wings and they were very tasty and juicy. We saw sandwhichs come out that looked like good portions and the onion rings were the biggest I have ever seen. For 4 beers and an order of 12 wings it was $28.00.. crazy right. I left them a nice tip as they had been though a lot that night with flooding into restaurant and they were still pleasant and friendly.. I forgot how genuinely nice people were in VA. I recommend playing golf here or going for a bite to eat. read more

We had the lemon chicken, Monterrey chicken sandwich, onion rings, and fries. With our sandwich we got sweet potato fries and cold slaw. The onion rings and fries were my favorite and their ranch dressing is awesome. I didn't like the cold slaw. I prefer a sweet cold slaw and I think this one was made with vinegar and not mayonnaise. read more

Chose Miller Grille randomly off the internet while in the area camping. It was a great choice! The staff was very friendly and inviting. Big, clean restaurant with a bar and a good variety of menu options. We got the Reuben w/ fries, fried green tomatoes, and Ken Hogan burger w/ sweet potato fries to go. All were delicious! It was all very hot and fresh. Both types of fries seemed to be hand cut. Breakfast and dinner menus also look amazing as well. They have lots of tables, half of which are in a room that has wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows with a view of the gold course. Very nice, hidden away place. read more

Apparently (according to my husband, I wouldn't know LOL) the "buffalo" sauce was in fact spicy BBQ sauce (very different, worse?). Food was otherwise great, though, and so was the service, especially for this price point. I was incredibly charmed by the cocktail menu, although since I had work to do this afternoon I had to regretfully decline to actually drink any of the delicious-sounding and cleverly-named drinks. I am a local customer and have been a patron of the Grille for a long, long time. I have supported the Grille and the bar through COVID. I didn't flinch when a gratuity started being charged on to-go orders. I am came in to pick up my to-go on Friday night to find all but my salad inedible as it was over cooked. I immediately went back and was told they would refund my money as it was too busy to remake. I was speechless and livid. I have never (and I bar backed back in the '90's) have ever heard that. I had toyed with becoming a member and having an event at the course, I work for a fortune 100 company. I will never set foot on the establishment ever. I have never had such poor service in my life. Even MvDonald's will remake an order that was their mistake. Is this how you treat loyal local customers? A business model guaranteed to not lead to success for sure. Only so many drunk golfers can sustain such a piss poor establishment. read more

We were travelling back from the Eastern Shore and it was one of those "Hey, there's a town up ahead, see if we can grab a bite somewhere" kind of moments. From the backseat, someone suggested the Miller Grille. Address was added to the GPS and we found ourselves pulling into a Country Club. I am so glad we did! We had a party of four, were seated immediately. Food arrived quickly, and everyone was pleasantly surprised at the quality of it. I was very happy with my dish, but I must admit, when a club sandwich was placed in front of someone else, I might have experienced a bit of plate envy - it looked awesome, but once I took the first bite of mine, I knew I hadn't made a mistake. We ordered take out because we didn't want to leave our puppy alone at the motel. I got chilli which come with tortilla chips and I also got a garden salad. My son got a club sandwich on white bread with fries and my daughter got chicken tenders with fries. We ate at Bens Deli in NY last night so I asked my son which sandwich he liked better and he said this one. My daughter who is the pickiest in the family also gave her dinner two thumbs up. We come every year with a large group. Guys love the golf course. The gals love the interesting sights and shopping excursions in Harrisonburg. The miller grill is excellent. Not pricey. Really good food. Wonderful staff. The lodging at the adjacent Inn is good. Clean and accommodating. Each year we find updates. The buffet and breakfasts in the main building is a well kept secret. It should be packed with visitors and locals but unfortunately the locals don't frequent very often. What a shame. Everything is fresh and homemade and very reasonably priced. read more

ASK QUESTIONS! Check your bill! We had the burgers on "burger night." We were a half an hour early (didn't know and waitress did not inform us), so we were overcharged. Burgers were dry and very small. They include a very small order of fries. Had a cup of the chili...a salt lick! But the kicker! My husband ordered a Manhattan drink and chose the whiskey he wanted. They UPCHARGED him $5.00! It became a $12 drink in the middle of nowhere in a small little town in Virginia. Again, we were not informed. Clearly, this establishment attempts to rip people off. Proceed at your own risk. We are full time RV'ers who love small towns and frequent small town businesses on purpose. Sadly, Miller's has made us forever fearful. read more

We come here every year for golf and eat at the Miller Grille because it's convenient and because the food is really good. I've personally enjoyed the blackened chicken salad with ranch dressing, grilled lemon chicken dinner and the burgers. Service is good. read more
