I was clear from the beginning about the purpose of the consultation when we spoke on the phone and was willing to work with me to schedule the consultation. On the consultation date after i uploaded my docs, she just did not seem prepared. Amongst a series of problems, from the start she focused on how I could use the software program, not my primary concern. Worse, we spent 45 minutes on the phone with the software technical assistance person (who now also had access to my financials) trying to figure out a fairly simple comparison. At certain points they both appeared to forget I was there. Suffice to say, I left that consultation without my main issue fully addressed. Final straw, when I emailed her later that day to express my dissatisfaction, she never responded. She is probably a great CFP, but with this customer the experience was an epic failure.

I called, set up a 1 hour appointment, and completed the financial inventory requested. She was able to explain my financial status in terms that I could understand. She agreed to let me audio record our session so I could review it after our meeting. And I left with a three ring binder containing an analysis of my current financial situation and projections for retirement. She suggested a few changes, but overall I'm in good financial health. I love what another reviewer wrote and I agree, " So for some of you women out there, smart up! Forgo one of those stupid designer handbags or trips to the spa. Invest in yourself and your future and make an appointment with Delia Fernandez."

When I requested for them to invest it, they were going to charge a very high fee (about 5%). What I did I took my money to Vanguard where there are no fees and the customer service is excellent! My review, however, I believe is based as much on general policy as it is with really excellent service. I inherited a fairly large chunk of money and split it between the Wells Fargo Advisors and Fidelity. I have previously had a fair amount of experience with Merrill Lynch and Dean Witter. Of that group of four, Wells Fargo Advisors (with a relatively small investment) treated me like I was their only customer. A lot of personal attention from one person assigned to my account, numerous email and telephone contacts, and a successful concern with my risk tolerance and that my investments were making money. The other three would not assign one person to my account (I had to speak to whoever was available), paid no attention to my account, and Fidelity even refused any one-on-one email contact with an account adviser. Those three told me not to expect any personal attention until my account exceeded $250,00 to $300,000. Wells Fargo Advisors, with an investment of far less, was happy to give me excellent advice and one-on-one personal service with the same person who knew me. All four of those firms charge the same 1% to manage the account. The expertise I feel my Wells Fargo Advisor guy has seems considerably better than what I got from the pool of advisers from any of the other three firms. Truth be told, I have no love for Wells Fargo but Wells Fargo Advisors seems to be separate. The service and attention I have received from Wells Fargo Advisors is a world of difference from those other four mega huge financial investment groups. I strongly recommend them.
