    Mold & rust
    Jon M.

CHECKIN & SERVICE The early/daytime staff is much more pleasant to interact with than the late/evening. Early checkin is possible for an additional fee but not guaranteed to be available. Uncovered self service parking is offered for free. Housekeeping performed by request. Late checkout offered (1hr). Checkin on Yelp for a free water! ROOMS (Suite) Contemporary design with high quality furnishings-- not your typical hotel stock! Incredibly comfortable couches, great workspace + ergonomic chair, functional windows, hardwood floors, a fireplace, and a flood of natural light. Very spacious for 2 with a homey feel. Great cleaning standards. (guestroom) not as glamorous of course & is cramped for 2, but cleaning standards are good in the common area (warning: not so much in the bathroom). BED Firm king mattress sleeps great in both configurations offered. The bedding was consistently clean, soft, and cozy. BATH (Suite) Beautiful stone covering the entire bathroom, electronic vanity mirror, ceiling rainfall shower, & strong water pressure! Well maintained & thoroughly cleaned. 3-piece showering set provided. (Guest room) Cleaning standards were VERY inconsistent, misleading, & generally under par compared to our experience in the suite. Lots of rust & mold in the bathroom, with clean towels making direct contact with black mold. Do a thorough check of your shower before settling in! TV & ENTERTAINMENT Good entertainment accoutrements. 1-2 large flat screen LG TV s with satellite on fixed wall mounts. WI-Fi The WiFi offering is generally really strong, but the experience isn't consistent in the guest rooms (weak coverage, frequent disconnects, etc). The corner rooms were also a (Verizon) dead zone. Nerd Stats: 111-123 Mbps download 45-84 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 25 ms latency 22 ms latency Performance: Video streaming - GREAT Online gaming - GREAT Video chatting - good FOOD & DRINK Not DoorDash friendly after the apps recent update (forced to walk to lobby for food pickups). Breakfast is offered & rooms are equipped with microwave & small mini fridges. NOISE Through traffic & noise from the neighborhood(s) from the hotel can be quite loud. Walls aren't thin enough to make out full conversations, but noisy neighbors can be a problem. VERDICT I wanted to rant & rave about this location after my first stay but a second one proved lots of duality here & a really inconsistent experience (I was hoping this would become my go-to hotel for flights out of SFO). The suites are great but the guest rooms are painful for reasons other than size. Customer service, cleaning standards, & WiFi infrastructure have large room for improvement. I won't be returning but it's not a pad stay if the inconsistencies don't bother you 2-3.5/5 Suite walkthrough: https://youtube.com/shorts/V3bsc4m1n08?feature=shared

There's Mold!!, Mildew smell in the bathroom water tank in 2 rooms that I went with family. The Stench of the MOLD was SO GROSS!!! Who can sleep with that smell? Don't waste your money! Stay at the Westin instead, it does not smell like MOLD and Sewer!

This Residence Inn saved me from no water and a complaining wife if I had stayed at the other hotel. I dropped in to check to see if they had vacancies. They assured me that rooms would be available. I immediately got onto to Concur, my employer's travel website and made the reservation. I was able to check in early the next morning after speaking to them, and due to my elite status. Check in was easy since they remembered my face. They gave us a studio king. The room had a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, coffemaker and microwave. The King bed was nice and comfortable. The bathroom had the usual Marriott bottle products. The room was good for a one night's stay. Their gym, once I found it, was adequate with treadmills, ellipticals, dumb bells, kettlebells, and Pilates balls. It was good enough to give me a good workout. Their parking lot is big. They do charge for parking. My only complaint, if I had one is that the staff does not know how to use virtual credit card payments. I had to use my own credit card instead of charging my virtual card. Other than that, it was a good stay. I wouldn't mind staying again if the other hotel I usually stay at wasn't available.

(SFO Airport) Rating: 4.0/5.0 The Grand Hyatt at SFO is an amazing property, Hyatt truly showed why they belong in the luxury tier with this entry. A 351-room (and suite) airport hotel, one of the best airport hotels in the world, and connected directly to the airport via presecurity (TSA) airtrain on airport grounds. This was quite a luxurious hotel, in a prime spot and a must-stay for avgeeks (aviation geeks). While not the most luxurious hotel I've stayed at, it proves it doesn't have to be. While providing fine dining (at the Quail & Crane Restaurant, more on that below) or fast and convenient to-go items that can be enjoyed in your room or on-the-go (more than likely when here, you're heading to a flight, see: Twin Peaks café, below), the Grand Hyatt at SFO offers unparalleled service for an airport hotel and deserves its 5-star rating. The fitness center by itself is huge and offers yoga mats, stretch balls, peloton fitness bikes, treadmills, standard recumbent bikes, free weights, circuit training and more, plus complimentary water and towels. What is more, is that they truly metaphorically bend over backwards to serve you which no hotel is obligated to do. If you order Uber Eats or Doordash, for example, they'll drop your food at their first floor valet lobby; it's no problem at all. Though the Quail & Crane Restaurant offers an excellent fusion of Western/American continental cuisine, while the Twin Peaks bar had an amazing selection of cocktails to make for you upon request, and the neighboring Twin Peaks market had a standard mix of cold beverages (water, soda, juice, etc.) and snack items including potato chips, and standard American/western fare And the views! Where do I start? This is where being an avgeek comes into play as an advantage and the hotel encourages this, providing an "aircraft identification guide," binoculars, pen, and paper notepad. I spent hours in my suite watching aircraft land, taxi, park at the gate, taxi to the runway then take off. NOTE: Request an apron-view room or suite, otherwise you get an interior room /suite. My suite had panoramic views of the International terminal and half of the "A" gates (the international terminal consists of one gigantic hall and two piers, "A" and "G" gates - Star Alliance aircraft depart out of the "G" gates, while everyone else uses the "A" gates and pier. Domestic terminals 1, 2, and 3 are strictly for gates "B" "C" "D" "E" and "F"). I had to get a pad of paper and a pen to keep track of every aircraft I saw. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! 4.0/5.0 is my final rating, only because 5.0 is the proverbial unicorn; no hotel gets 5.0/5.0, it is unfair to other establishments and there is always something any given hotel can do better, even if it is so unnoticeable to guests, it is behind the scenes. The only thing that could make the Grand Hyatt SFO better is a spa on-site but I'm being unnecessarily nit-picky here, which isn't fair to the hotel.

Great restaurants nearby, and fast food also. Walking around downtown Millbrae, is pleasant. The BART station, In-N-Out burger are within walking distance if you're reasonbly fit, but maybe pushing the envelope for some. Super convenient to get to and from SFO. Getting on and off the Hwy 101 is pretty easy. Convenient underground parking garage. I believe the height limit is 6'8" but please confirm with the front desk if you are worried about it. The property is newly renovated, but still some signs of age. The padding under the carpet in my room was kinda lumpy and uneven. Staff is super friendly. The complimentary breakfast is pretty basic. If all you need is some toast, fruit, cereal and juice it will do. The hot food: scramble eggs, turkey sausage and waffles are available, but not my first choice. If you can hold out for better food options in the neighborhood, that's a stronger move. Watch out for the various curbs and beat-up sideawalk nearby the street. The Better Business Bureau and health department should totally get involved !! My husband and I contracted bed bugs while our stay for two days. JUNE 5th-7th ... The room was nothing like it was presented on the site. It was unkept. The towels and the sheets were stained with yellow looked like pee stains. My husband and I requested extra sheets but we were told housekeeping was not available at 10pm during the night. We were given a blanket to place over the bed sheet instead. Which was very uncomfortable. The fact that my husband and I also slept on top of the bed because of this concern is absurd considering we both still contracted bed bugs. Ana is the rep we spoke with today who is leaving a message for Myra the manager. We hope to hear back from the manager regarding this. We ended up having to go to urgent care at Kaiser Permanente, the exam from my doctor concluded in what turns out to be in fact bed bugs and I have been prescribed triamcinolone aceteonide cream for this reason. I noticed the rash the night before checkout, I didn't think anything of it at first but then it completely started to get worse and spread throughout the week. The lack of care and cleanliness this place presented is just wrong !! When we spoke to Ana the rep today she seemed defensive as she was the one who checked us out , making it her business to specify that she's been working here a long time and has never encountered an experience as such which I doubt and she even made a comment that we did not mention it when we checked out as if we are fabricating this story. Let me make this clear we live in so cal inland empire at that. So we were visiting San Fran, this trip that turned out to be a disaster was actually a business trip. Very unfortunate the lack of accountability & we will be looking forward to speak with the general manger as I have been told by Ana that she left a note for the manager to call my husband and I back. We didn't come with bed bugs .. so why did we leave with them ??? Absolutely disappointed and discussed as a person who took the time to clean the room up to the best of my ability with sanitizing fabric spray / wipes. The place is not at all what it Intels online. I am just glad kaiser reported it as bed bugs instead of scabies or any further infection that has been the biggest relief. If you're OCD , you won't enjoy the stay as the towels too need to be replaced, and not just rewashed. I am very disappointed & we both feel we have been catfished & couldn't wait to head back on the road to our clean town home.

When a hotel consistently delivers, it becomes your go-to, and this place has absolutely earned that status for me. Check-in is always seamless. Trip after trip, the team here is genuinely warm, professional, and accommodating. Jessa and Jorge at the front desk deserve a special mention because they consistently go above and beyond. Jessa has a way of making you feel like a valued guest every single time, not just another check-in. And Jorge is always on top of things -- attentive, proactive, and just a pleasure to interact with. Seeing familiar, friendly faces like theirs is honestly one of the reasons I keep choosing this property. The front desk here is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. When I checked in, they didn't explain any amenities and handed me my keys. One of the key didn't even work on the first day. Not only that, I asked for late check out and my keys were again locked out before my check out time. When I asked to store luggage, they handed me a luggage tag without a word and kept chatting with their friends. I placed it on my luggage and they rudely told me not to do that and I was supposed to write down my info. I've never had to do that for any Marriott properties as the tag already has a corresponding ticket number. Also, why would they chastise me for something they didn't even bother explaining? The shuttle bus drivers and cleaning staff are nice and polite. It is really just the front desk who needs retraining. As for the property itself, they gave me one of the farthest room at the end of a long, dark hallway - it was like something out of a horror movie. Also once again, another hotel without bathroom doors. I only stayed here because the Westin next door was sold out for a conference. However, I did interact with the Westin staff there and it was a much better experience. I suspect all of the experienced staff are assigned to the Westin instead.
