This place you would have to say is about 4.5 it's not luxury...but it is the best bang for a buck with good accommodations...free parking (at least with my booking)...free breakfast.....Clean room easily accessible from parking lot....a very boutique with good size rooms a electric fireplace was in a separate room with another tv...which was cool cuz you can just chill in there and eat have a drink or whatever..... I wasn't sure when I first saw this available on some of the booking/travel websites....the workers are all friendly and helpful....the location is on El Camino which can be a busy street but an important street to get you anywhere you need to go....with restaurants nearby and markets..... I highly recommend this place and funny thing the day I booked it I had a meal with a friend who was telling me she found a place the other weekend she went to the bay area that was affordable, clean and nice....BOOM same place!!!! read more

I stayed at The Millwood for one night before an early morning flight out of SFO and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were much more modern than I expected! The rooms were immaculately clean and very comfortable for a short stay. I wasn't expecting much when I arrived to the lobby but the rooms were cute. I also felt really safe, which is important when traveling alone or arriving late. The only downside was that it was a bit loud on the first floor due to noise and walking from guests staying above us. The walls are kind of thin. If I stayed again I would definitely request a top floor room to avoid that. Overall 8/10, a great and convenient option for a quick airport stay. read more

There's no airport shuttle anymore (2024) but everything else in my previous review still stands. Great place for your last night before early flight out of SFO. My flight is usually 7am ouch which means a 5am check in. I like how there is an extra level of security where you need a room key to enter. We walked to Mt. Mikes for dinner. The breakfast was good also. We will definitely stay here again. read more

Clean. Cute. But not truly an accessible room for someone in a wheelchair. Curbless shower--however the opening isn't wide enough to get your wheelchair inside the shower so you must walk across the shower to get to the bench. Luckily, I am able to take a few steps. The grab bars are completely useless as they are behind the toilet and too far back. The threshold to get in and out of the room is too high, so my husband had to push me over the threshold sort of like pop a wheelie. The room is also not quite big enough to turn around in a wheelchair. Keep in mind I have a very small wheelchair and I'm not a very big person so if I found a challenging, I can imagine how others might find it. If you are not disabled, you will probably find these accommodations to be 4 out of 5. My able-bodied husband cannot give it a 5 because the bathroom had a terrible smell coming out of it. read more

(Guest room) Cleaning standards were VERY inconsistent, misleading, & generally under par compared to our experience in the suite. VERDICT I wanted to rant & rave about this location after my first stay but a second one proved lots of duality here & a really inconsistent experience (I was hoping this would become my go-to hotel for flights out of SFO). Recently came here for a quick trip and it was a delightful stay. The location of the hotel is convenient. It's close to the highway and sfo airport. The room itself is not large. I got the double suite so they created a small living room space that has a neat fireplace that is Sheeka and modern. The hotel has free parking and free breakfast which is nice! You don't see that often in the bay. The breakfast is your standard hot and cold breakfast items nothing fancy. Even though you can access the rooms directly from the parking lot there is a secured hallway to the room that you need your hotel card for. I love that extra layer of safety. This a great choice if your in the sfo area. read more

For a motel... millwood has its mojo. Clearly the photos show a classy place with fireplace and all. But lack of hot water for 2 nights in a row is a real downer as I can't squeeze even a luke warm 5 minute shower. Cold shower just don't fit the bill for me. Walls are super thin... as such you can feel each neighbor door close along with their personal discussions. But heck the beds are comfy for a motel and is super clean. I stayed here early into COVID but honestly, the interaction component that was removed from COVID was the least of my concerns. It's more of a motel than a hotel. The parking lot is narrow and extremely difficult for a larger SUV (GMC Yukon). I would NOT try to park here unless you have a smaller vehicle. The rooms are enclosed by a glass hallway with several entry doors. Warning - do not get a room near one of those doors. They are extremely noisy and you hear every single person going in and out of them all night. The room was clean and the linens were fresh. The shower had the standard supplies and decent water pressure. Proximity to SFO made for a VERY easy morning when I flew out quite early. My wife said the price was good enough for her to stay a week or so later when she drove to SF and stayed before picking me up from a late morning flight. read more

We just stayed there in the large suite with a king bed in one room, two double beds in the other. We absolutely loved our stay and how the place looked like the pictures. We actually stayed an extra night because hadn't spent much time in the room. There were plenty of outlets, towels, and everything else we needed. It was clean and we had no issues with mold or mildew. There is a TV in each room, a fireplace, lights everywhere, wall outlets, outlets in the lamps and phones. There is a mini fridge and microwave. They also do a breakfast with eggs, delicious bacon, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, juices, milk. It is the only place I will stay from now on. read more

Love the renovations. Room somewhat on the small side but we were there to experience the city so that wasn't a big deal. Bed was comfortable, bathroom nicely updated, and had a nice under tv fireplace. We were allowed early check in for an additional $25 which was reasonable given we were checking in about 4 hours early due to our flight. The reason for the low rating is the breakfast service. All the pastries offered were past expiration or molded. The juice which was similar to those distributed for school lunch was also out dated and had a film floating on top. read more

Hotel had 2 double beds in one room, and a king bed in another...plus living room area and very nice bathroom. This hotel was perfect for us. I was away for a few days by the bay area, as my dad & I were attending a wedding for a close family friend. Lucky for us, the bride & groom had wonderful wedding information as they suggested two hotel locations - upon checking out the hotel suggestions, I ended up booking my hotel with the Millwood Inn & Suites. I'm so glad I booked with this hotel, as a few things really stood out about this place. This hotel provided - 1. Free Parking 2. Free Breakfast, and I'm talking about coffee, juices (orange juice, apple juice), milk, cereal, fresh fruit - (bananas & oranges), oatmeal, fresh waffles, pastries/bagel/english muffins/bread, eggs, bacon, link sausages, vegetarian beans & yogurt. Not bad for a free breakfast! 3. Free Newspaper 4. Free Wifi 5. Friendly & helpful front desk. 6. Exercise Room (I did not use while I was there). 7. Hotel is located in a very safe neighborhood! (Always important!) 8. Close/Near SF Airport, yet far enough so you won't hear any airplanes. 9. Room had a - Large screen TV, refrigerator, iron board & iron, hair dryer, & coffee maker. 10. Hotel was in a very quiet location, so at night there wasn't any excessive loud noises,,,,,,,,,great for a good nights sleep! 11. Very clean rooms. 12. Very close to stores (like Trader Joe's - sorry folks.......it's a Hawaii thing! Lol!) & restaurants. If I could wish for one thing; I wished the room was a little bit bigger as the room was on the smaller side.........everything else was just perfect! For 4 nights, I paid $622.24 (this includes occupancy tax, & tourism tax). Not bad at all for staying near the San Francisco area. If you folks ever stayed in the bay area, you probably know it's quite expensive. If I ever had to stay here again..........I would not hesitate! I got a good nights sleep here while I was away from home......what more can you ask for? read more

My manz and I had to stay here for the night because we missed our flight to Vegas. I read our plane ticket wrong. OOOPS. Yeah, so he was pissed, and I had to do damage control. I looked at my Hotel Tonight App and found this place for $91.00, using my $25 HT credit. They have a free shuttle service from the airport, and BOY was it slow. We waited about 30 minutes, and saw multiple shuttle vans pass us by. That was pretty irritating. But finally the van came and we took the ~15 min ride to Millwood Inn. That's because they dropped off other people at their hotels before we got to our own. Yup, we were the last stop on this train. One thing that we both agreed on was that the bed was SUPER. COMFORTABLE. I never slept on such a bed. I would buy that same bed (riddled with semen stains or not), and put that in my room. Yes folks, it was that comfy. I had the dreamiest sleep ever before a harsh alarm awoke me for a 6am flight. Maybe it was a really plump person who broke in the bed for us, but maaaan that was a really nice bed. Felt like I was sleeping on clouds. Another AWESOME thing about this place was the breakfast. I never saw such a set up. Torani flavor syrups to put in your cup o' joe? yes please! We took our food to go so we wouldn't be late a second time, but I want to come back! Hopefully they'll have some special in the near future, because while I do not plan on missing any more flights out of SFO, it would be nice to stay here again. read more

I didn't need much from the staff, they did their jobs correctly, so I have no complaints there. Breakfast was included and it was the standard stuff. The location is not downtown SF, but it was right where I need to be. I paid with points, otherwise I would have found a much cheaper motel. read more

I really loved this little hotel. It was just perfect. I come into town often and usually stay at a particular chain when I work. This was in a convenient location so I decided to give it a try. It is so well cared for. Every little detail taken care of. The whole place was spotless and very tastefully decorated. I was greeted politely and had great customer service the rest of my stay. They offer a managers happy hour, which is such a nice touch to wind down after work. They also offer a lovely breakfast in the morning. Very comfy beds and an awesome shower with an overhead rain option. I was nervous about the outside doors but there are glass panels that create a beautiful wall. It was very well lit and secure. The flowers left a nice touch and even a container of umbrellas if you needed to borrow one. Just perfect. Can't wait to return. read more

This hotel was absolutely awful. The walls were so thin and we had an incredibly loud neighbor that was playing loud music and shouting from midnight to 6 am. I was completely unable to sleep and had an early flight the next day. I called the front desk several times to help with the noise and they did absolutely nothing. WOW I'm giving Millwood Inn & Suites 5/5 for being a fantastic 3 star motel (just to make sure it's understood that this is 3 star motel, but the best of it's class). My connecting flight to Baltimore was canceled due to bad weather so I ended up stuck in the SFO airport. Since I was unsuccessful at waking up any of my San Fran friends or family, I was cruising Yelp reviews for nearby motels that didn't break the bank while contemplating sleeping at the SFO airport. Curious by all the super high Yelp reviews yet the fantastic deal Orbitz was quoting me, I gave Millwood Inn a ring, told them my situation and inquired about a potentially early checkin (by this time it was about 5am). They said they could probably get me in a room around 9am. Happy enough with this response, I gathered my things and went off to catch the shuttle. I arrived at the motel around 6am. I apologized to the two women that greeted me for being early but explained I just couldn't hang out at SFO any longer. Immediately, either the motel's owner or manager, I'm not sure, went into mother mode. She offered to hold my bags and my hoop behind the counter and ushered me into another room which held a massive breakfast spread. She said authoritatively yet kindly, "You eat, I'll get in you a room quickly." I enjoyed a very full breakfast and some delicious hot tea and accidentally fell asleep at the table. They let me sleep peacefully and true to her word, within 45 minutes, I was in a room. It was not even 8am! I will be eternally grateful for this because I was a bit ill and exhausted. The room was very clean, cute and comfortable. There was a large flat screen TV, microwave and fridge. I immediately KOed in the large bed adorned with fluffy and fresh pillows (I often check, don't want any nasty stuff on my face). When I woke up mid afternoon, I drew a nice hot bath in the nice tub and did a little hooping in the parking lot and took off. Before I left I stopped by the lobby again to thank the lady and grab a toothbrush and toothpaste (which cost a very small price) and I was given a free bottle of water. I had lost my credit card (a total do-do move) at the previous airport and this motel totally accommodated my situation on a cash basis, which is hard to do at some of the nicer establishments. Check out was piece of cake and I felt so blessed I came across the Millwood I gave them a "Thank-You" card before departing. *A little note about the area - It mostly seems pretty safe around here. However during my short hoop session a trucker pulled up and after watching me for several minutes, asked if I wanted to hang out with him. Of course, I said no and promptly stopped hooping and went back to my room. Unfortunately right before I opened my door, he ran up to me (after parking the truck around the corner so I didn't know he had exited the vehicle) and tried to get in my room, promising weed and other things I don't participate in. I refused to open my door until after he left and then I left to hang out in downtown San Francisco and North Beach the remainder of the day, but I was totally freaked out. I was warned when sharing the story later that some creepers do lurk about Millbrae so if you are a woman hanging out alone, just be aware. read more

We decided not to stay in the heart of San Fran for a few reasons: bed bugs known at lots of places too expensive for such mediocre places didn't care to stay in a "old SF historic charm" type of room I wanted A LOT of modern amenities we chose Millwood because: about a mile to the BART station, we went on foot one day! Good reviews on yelp nice looking website-shows good features price was right (we got it for 88 a night) Fab amenities Things I enjoyed about this place-good price, no smoking in any rooms, newly renovated to be green, a microwave and fridge in our room, super clean-didn't smell stale, newer bathroom fixtures, FREE PARKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, free breakfast, and the exterior was gorgeous. There are plants and flowers everywhere, the whole place smelled like gardenias and honeysuckle! There is a nice fountain out front. It's no embassy suites, but damn, for the price, I couldn't pass it up. Would stay again. Found them with AAA, reserved my room on the actual Millwood site, as it had the cheapest rates. read more

Reviews on Yelp & travel sites all rated it above average - a no GANK zone. I contacted my friend, PORT not required, about how decent it looked and she told me to book it for a few nights. I book it for 3-nights. BRB. I've stayed at motels & hotels in the South Bay before so I kept an open-mind and held judgement until she actually checked-in. I didn't want a FAIL. Thinking to myself... oh my I hope I didn't blow it before even hooking up, but I know you don't want to know about my personal life back when I was a keyboard playa in the Night Elves & Draenei Azeroth world and muffin in all things furry fandom, right? The boring life of a human rogue. So I kept an open mind... when she arrived... She was a hella cuter Draenei than even her glittery MySpace pics... hella young at 21, but are we talking MMORPG here or are we talking IRL? Did I look like her friend? Her husband? Or ugh Daddy? Then again being a crazy CWG from her neck of the woods & me being a 12.5% city white boy we hit it off. So after small talk on the ride over about farming, fishing & kids we arrive at Millwood Inn & Suites. /Dance *Night Elf* First impression was good right off the shield. No TANK required. Greeted and ID'd & CC checked and hallelujah I wasn't stink-eyed of being her long lost Daddy or a date for the night. We were legit friends and just wanted to spend some quality time together in San Francisco. We are handed our plastic card keys and head to our room. AFK. The room was clean, aesthetically pleasing enough, and a huge bed... I guess a king? The bathroom was spotless and shower/tub very large (though I noticed a slow drain later). The TV was large and up-to-date, no maneuvering the antennas needed, well... eh, not in Azeroth NOOB talk. Okay, and the important one... the walls were thick! The bonus was the complimentary breakfast that was better than most places I business-traveled, I mean seriously decent enough even for the Dwarves from Ironforge, or even the beastly Orcs from Ogrimmar! In the end, we don't play World of Warcraft anymore, that went out with La Roux, Swedish House Mafia, & MySpace, yet the stay at Millwood will forever be with us, well me at least. I'm sure she already forgot about me and moved on since popping 2 country kids & gaining some... wait. If I, or someone I cared about, with or without a blue tail, needed a safe haven for a few days I'd suggest Millwood Inn & Suites in a Draenei heart beat! FTW!
