The hair dryer lights up for some reason
    James L.

On a recent solo trip to handle some business in SF, I came across this hotel. The rates were very affordable, the decor is modern and the room has exactly what I needed; a Keurig, microwave, small fridge and a big safe. My room was comfortable, had great ambient lighting and a large TV. Overall, the room felt new and remodeled, just the bathroom was dated. Location: it's close to the freeway for my daily commute into the City and across the Bay Bridge. I chose San Bruno because most of my friends live within 20 minutes, that makes getting together for dinner easier. The lobby is very small. The guy who checked me in was very nice and courteous.. The room I got was very quiet, the only noise was from when the heater kicked in. There's easy access to the parking area via a side door. They also offer shuttle services to & from the airport. They do offer daily breakfast but don't expect anything. It's some wrapped pastries, mini muffins, instant oatmeal, boxed cereals, yogurt and a waffle maker. Beverages include coffee, tea, milk and juice. The seating area are all counter seats either facing the wall, or a few that faced outside towards the parking lot. It served me fine because all I needed was their utensils, coffee cups and some juice. I have everything else I needed in my room. Across the street is a gas station with lower prices than other stations a few blocks away. If you want to explore by foot, behind the gas station is a quaint street with many small family run restaurants and businesses. Hotel Skye is definitely a place I'd stay at again whenever I'm in town.

We stayed in a suite which allowed us to have a pull out bed for the kiddo to sleep. It was nice to have two TVs but we quickly realized that we were competing with the sound and couldn't hear clearly what we were watching. UGH. Our bathroom was a pretty good size. The fan/vent wasn't working, but the water pressure was solid. There were none of the speciality lotions or soaps we normally find. Breakfast changed every day, and there were at least some cooked foods like eggs, bacon and turkey sausages. A few Costco baked goods like their mini blueberry muffins and bagels but at least it wasn't the whole spread. Conveniently located next to the freeway and relatively quiet. We were also were close to San Bruno and Millbrae. Some awesome places to eat!

I chose this property specifically for the airport shuttle and had an extremely frustrating…read moreexperience that was made worse by how it was handled. I called ahead in advance twice to coordinate pickup, but was told no accommodation was possible. I ended up paying for an Uber. At check-in, the front desk associate understood the situation and offered to reimburse the Uber, advising me to come down the next morning to have it processed. The experience changed completely when dealing with management. The manager was dismissive, took no responsibility, and explicitly stated that the property is not responsible for honoring ANY of its listed amenities at any given time. Despite the reimbursement being discussed at check-in, I had to follow up multiple times over two days. Even at checkout, I was told it would need to be "looked into" with no clear resolution, which forced me to ask for contact information just to continue following up. The real issue was not the shuttle schedule, but the handling. A simple service recovery turned into an adversarial process that required repeated effort on my part and lacked basic accountability. What made the situation worse was what happened after I left. I had already checked out, my bill had been finalized, and my receipt had been issued. About an hour after checkout, I received a call from the manager. Instead of confirming the reimbursement that had already been discussed, I was asked whether I had parked a car on the property the night prior, followed immediately by being told there would be a $25 parking charge. Parking had never been mentioned at check-in, check-out, or at any point during my stay. I was then told the Uber would be reimbursed for roughly the same amount. The parking charge was processed immediately, while the agreed reimbursement required receipts, additional confirmation, and multiple follow-up emails to complete. The contrast between how quickly the charge was applied and how difficult it was to complete the reimbursement created an unnecessarily adversarial and frustrating experience. I escalated this through Marriott corporate and explicitly requested review beyond the property level. That request was never honored. The case was routed back to the same property management and ultimately closed without any independent response from corporate, even after multiple follow-ups. I opened a second case, and it was again sent back to the same manager, resulting in the same outcome. That lack of follow-through from Marriott was the most disappointing part of the entire experience. As a frequent Marriott guest, this fell well below expectations -- not because of a policy, but because of how the situation was handled and how escalation was ignored.

We were on the 2nd floor in the 2nd building. Outside of the hotel looks much rougher than the inside. The room was clean, be aware there is no microwave or fridge in the rooms. Water in the shower takes quite a bit of time to get warm enough to get in, they did not provide wash cloths or soap on the sink only shower gel affixed to the shower wall. The door between the sink and bathroom/shower area was a pocket door that was loud & squeaky (not a big deal with just my spouse and I) the fan in the bathroom did not work and there was a large patched hole in the pocket door that was painted an odd color. We were here just for the night and we were really didnt sleep much with the excitement of our upcoming flight. Budget friendly. There is also an ihop right next to the lobby so you can eat around the clock.

She was pleasant enough and because I was still an hour away drive from the hotel, she said she would make a note on the reservation that we wouldn't be in until 3a so the hotel wouldn't cancel our room. After taking our CC info, we were relieved to know we had a room for the morning. Fast forward to 3a when we tried to check in.. our room had been canceled. Supposedly I had said we'd be there in 10 minutes (absolutely no way i would've said this coming from SJ to SF). We tried to book while at the hotel and the front desk person said we couldn't. I'm just not understanding why phone agent would take my CC info knowing my room would most likely get canceled. Obviously making a note in the system didn't help. Why couldn't she have contacted the hotel front desk person for us to make sure? Also, since our room was canceled and there was definitely a room available when we arrived (assuming it wasn't the only room available and didn't get booked within the hour we made the reservation until arriving).. why couldn't we book that same room? In any case, we were super tired at 3a hoping to get some sleep before flying out of SFO but instead had to find another room. Highly annoyed.

First off, this is close-by SFO airport and if you are not local to SF, if you stay elsewhere, the traffic going back to the airport can be stressful. There is a parking fee per night of stay ($35 during my stay last week). Your room key is your card pass to the parking lot for most guests. Diamond tier have a more reserved parking spots near the entrance of the hotel. However, when I tried the key cards during my first day of stay, both cards weren't working. There is a help button which they buzzed me in afterwards. Throughout the entire week, the gate at Corporate drive was closed, no coming in and out so I would always have to go around. There was not a day that I didn't try to push the help button because my cards were not working even after asking for it to get check by front desk. Let me just say that all of the front desk agents are great, helpful and informative. With so many amenities, they try their best to explain each information to every guest. The hotel has 4 elevators. 2 at front and 2 at the back. You need to tap your hotel key card before you can push any floor buttons. I stayed in one of their newer rooms, the thermostat was set to a certain temperature. I did not felt any difference even when I changed it. I did not voiced this out because I was in and out of my room a lot. Breakfast is complimentary and they have happy hour every day. Overall, my room was clean but housekeeping was not replenishing everything they took out of my room. Any of my used towels that were not on the floor were taken but not all were replaced. I was not able to use the pool but I saw many kids playing in it during my stay. I can't say anything about the fitness center as I wasn't able to use it either due to my work schedule. If you are light sleeper, you will hear airplanes taking off at any time of the day even when at night.

Liza was apologetic for the issues in rm 103, and made sure rm 315 was move in ready when we got back from lunch. Came back a week later because we loved this place. But this time around the room not so much. Four of us stayed in room 103. Last week we stay upper floors and the room looked cleaner, fresher, etc.., The carpet in room 103 is a tripping hazard, old and ripped. We didn't want to change rooms because we were exhausted from a straight 8 hour drive. Only reason I have a 3 star instead of a 1 star is because the front desk ladies are fantastic. I heard it was gabbys last day. So at didn't get to see her. Probably on maternity leave. She was prego when at met her. Jaclyn was helpful as always. But Lauren was exceptional. Even after having a long day, and rough time with a previous guest before me, she still gave over the top service. Friendly, helpful, and talked to us more than guest, was more like we were friends. Will we come back? Sure we will but it'll have to be an upper floor better room not a tripping hazard. I'm with a couple senior citizens that nearly fell due to the carpet. I'll post a photo as soon as I can get some bright lights.

This place is a horror movie waiting to happen. I came from the Travelodge across the way, hoping…read moreto have a better experience than my last two at the previous hotel. Welp.... My partner booked this place without reading reviews. Not quite his fault though because the photos for park pointe are very outdated and the grounds look post-apocalyptic. Think the walking dead. The grass is dead and yellow, the weeds and bushes on site and below the stairs are overgrown and not maintained, there are units that are completely abandoned, used to store piles of old mattresses, with yellow and green algae stained windows. Crazy thing is, they have signs posted on the sides of their building saying things like "I know our location will have you wanting to book with us once" or something. They know they look horrible. The photos online are showing a more lush, clean, bright Park Pointe Hotel- but the photos are from six years ago. Like I said, this place is an eye sore and will have you questioning how they're able to still run a business like this. Within three hours of check in, the power went out in the bathroom. The carpets smelled old and of mildew. The print on the carpet had disappeared completely on 85% of the room. The phone looked stained with a rust colored substance, there were drain flies just chillin on the walls and pillows, it was humid and smelled so much by the evening, I had to step out of the room to breathe. I asked my partner to check with the front desk to see if we could change rooms. The man at the desk said there was nothing available so I decided to speak to them myself. I was upset and expressed my disappointment and told him the room was horrible. He offered a refund and we were quick to accept. I still can not wrap my mind around how this place has passed any of its inspections. Anyway, never again. BEWARE
