Go to The Closet in Agoura Hills, You don't need an appointment, you can bring all your stuff there at anytime and they give you more for Consignment plus they communicate very well. About 6 years ago I brought some clothing in to exchange. The owner, Kathy (I think) said they were pretty full with merchandise, so I left. I almost got into my car and drove away. I really needed money to buy books for my next semester at CSUN. I went back in and told her my situation and offered to sell my stuff for minimal price. I love this shop! I wandered in here since I'm from Ventura but was in Simi Valley for the day. They have really cute things you can't find in the malls anymore. I really appreciate that they didn't just carry trendy items because I'm getting really tired of the current trends (aka skinny jeans and lace up super baggy tops and dresses). I actually hate trendy clothes and growing up in the 90s makes me appreciate older styles. Everything here is well organized with sizes and such and they have areas dedicated to men's and sale items as well. Beyond love this place! Every time I go I find the cutest items whether it's clothing or jewelry etc.... Linda is super sweet and always friendly when I visit. I recently went in to find some new clothes for work and got a free people dress, joes jeans, a turquoise necklace, a t shirt and 3 bracelets for around $100 bucks! Such a great deal. The jeans alone would have been more than 100 bucks at a retail store! Highly recommend! You can even sell your stuff through the store for a credit to the store or a pay out in the form of a check. I appreciated how the store was organized.it helped me find my size and a simple conservative dress for a church event. The lady helping me was a little quiet at first but I figured she was busy handling something else. I was the only customer and she didn't say hello or anything. Another customer came in on crutches and the store manager was friendly and talked to her. Then she engaged conversation. She was very nice and helped me. I found a dress plus 4 blouses I loved and a few new pieces of jewelry to go with it. I was told they mainly offer weekend wear which seemed correct. They had a small men section, I didn't look it over. The clothing and jewelry was clean and professionally displayed. Nothing like Goodwill. By the way, if you are looking to donate apparel please help Food On foot before Goodwill. The goodwill people take Overall I like The Mint and will be checking them out often. The consignment side was explained in a paper. 50% and 40% store credit. I think they would have way more sales if they were easier to find. Maybe in the Regal movie theater shopping mall? read more

Honestly I wasn't impressed at all. Better deals could be got on sales racks of your favorite store and the clothes would actually be new. I saw a target brand merona dress hanging on their rack with a $9.98 clearance sticker still stuck on it that they were trying to sell for $18. read more

This was my first experience consigning clothing and has been a positive experience every step of the way. In my initial conversation, Marie's husband explained the consignment process, scheduled the appointment and encouraged me to review their website for preparation specifics, which are important to know prior to bringing in any items. Marie views her relationship with her consignors as a partnership, working together to provide good quality, well-kept, items ready to be displayed in the shop. She offers a competitive payout percentage for sold items and an additional incentive if you use your credit to make a purchase from the store. My consignments have consisted of clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry primarily from Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor and Nordstrom, which have all been successful sellers. At the end of each consignment period, Marie will review the items and may offer to hold particular pieces longer if she believes they may sell. Tiny place, cute clothes. Men's and Women's fashions available. There is a half off rack, so save money by browsing there first. If you browse the other racks, you might be in for bit of sticker shock. Prices a bit high, but nice selection overall. I guess the high prices are nice if you want to sell on consignment, given the item sells. It may not always work out like that though, guess that is just my inner realist speaking. Found this store by accident - but totally love it. Being a shoe freak, I found a pair of Cole-Hahn for $21 - that would have been $200 at Nordstroms. Took a friend back - and she found an INC jacket - Macy's brand - for a great price. This is not a thrift store - but a genuine re-sale shop - and Marie, the owner, only takes high quality items. The real bonus was meeting Poppy, her 3 legged Schnauzer who comes to work with her. If you are in Simi - you must try this place. read more

I went in here once and I haven't been back since. The lady in the store was annoyed I walked in ten minutes before closing. She continued to watch me as if I was a criminal. I quickly felt so uncomfortable that I left. From what I did see, everything is over priced for what it is. Marie, the owner, has a great eye for selecting pre-owned clothing, shoes, and purses that are in excellent condition, classically styled, fashionable, and priced well below their original price. I have consigned many items and usually apply my "credit" to purchase more! The shoes are especially amazing. I have found some very high-end, leather soled shoes at a fraction of retail cost. purses, interesting jewelry, great jeans...it is all at The Mint. Do not expect Goodwill prices. Came across this place on a fluke while looking for vintage furniture (next door) and LOVE it! You can tell that every piece has been hand selected -- and the fact that you can get incredible, one-of-a-kind items for so little is AWESOME?? I got a pair of brand new pants that retail for over $200 for under $30. I literally looked at every single piece of clothing in that place, and walked away with an armful for around $100. I actually disagree with the other 2 reviews. I think the Mint is a great place to shop. I have gotten some awesome deals on some very nice clothing. I've heard the remark that they are not that cheap, but you are getting super nice quality and unique clothing for the most part. (not sure about that Target dress) I always check the sale rack first and have found great bargains. I also LOVE the idea of RE-USING and NOT buying everything NEW.
