Was exploring the town when I came across this gem! It's a cool little thrift store, with low prices and a wide variety of items based solely on donations. As a young thrifter, this store is an absolute dream. There are so many cool items that you can find at a low price, whether it be clothes, decorative pieces, CDs, shoes, kitchen appliances, jewlery, china, or sewing patterns! Loved seeing all the old stuff. Only thing I would say is that the service was okay. Otherwise, this shop is perfectly unique! I'll be coming back for sure. read more

One of the great places to shop at are thrift stores. You always get great deals for low prices. Many thrift stores donate to charity for the poor and homeless. Some people dislike this place for two reasons. It's small & the prices. This place has been around for a long time. Moorpark isn't like Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, or Los Angeles. Moorpark is a small city. They're been slow to expand as far as I know. If you're a business owner, you take what you can get. It's a small store & the store employees put out as much as they can. Some people feel like it's claustrophobic, especially when it's busy. Now, when it comes to prices, I think they're fair. Places like these are mom's & pops shops. They try to make money from what they can, and they use it to pay the bills & donate to charity. But some people who shop try to lowball their way to an almost free sale. In other words, trying to make the seller, sell it lower than it's worth, so the buyer will pay less even though the price is cheaper than buying it at full retail price. I dislike those types of people and would never do business with them after I got burned a few times selling stuff myself. Never again! If you dislike the store, leave. But posting negative comments saying the prices are too high, go to eBay & Amazon where sellers tend to rip you off & inflame prices beyond reseasonable, even for used items, outdated or old. The employees are all friendly & kind. Not all the employees are the ones who price the items. I find the prices great. Like many thrift stores, they don't do price matching. Stop asking! I see it all the time. Many employees are retired & do this for free. They love helping their community. Probably the worst thing I see people do is steal. I hate stealing and hate people who steal from thrift stores. Especially, people who steal from Christian stores. These stores are trying to pay rent, & donate to charity, homeless, and so on. Gave it another try - big mistake. The ogre at the register told me 5.00 for a book from the 1.00 section . she wouldnt even check with the people who price things in back. they used to do that when something wasnt marked. I pass on the book but still plan to buy a few other things. . no sooner do I get my credit card out she puts up a sign that says credit card machine out of order. I walk out. the sign was not up before then. How RUDE! this used to be a great place to shop but over time has turned in to a high price Antique store, not a thrift store. Over time they have gotten so expensive that merchandise sits for months and has piled up so much it's a Fire Hazard. It seems like the cackling women in the back have an attachment to the merchandise since it is priced insanely high ( based on what they see on ebay) I don't see how they Can help the Church they are affiliated with or how they can even call themselves a thrift store with their wackadoo prices. read more

I don't go to many thrift stores. I go THIS one when I do. It is has, by far, the best prices. Everyone is so friendly and extremely helpful. I didn't know it was run by Christians,, a pleasant surprise. It's decorated adorably and is located in the heart of old Moorpark, a very quaint area. I stumbled across Luther's Attic on my way to the Ace Hardware store located in old town Moorpark. This cramped little store is mainly filled with clothing with a little bit of home furnishings. Prices seem reasonable enough for the merchandise I happened to pick up although determining what the prices were for some items was a bit difficult. The store could use a better merchandising floor plan because the flow was claustrophobic for me. One of the weirdest things I saw there was used men and boys underwear and boxers for sale. Once I saw that my lady and I quickly made my our way out as fast as possible without being noticed. It gives me the creeps just knowing that they sell that stuff. Yuck! read more

Went in there about 30 minutes before closing. I was going to buy quite a bit. I saw these 2 geese they were marked 25.00 each. The lady working there said oh I cant reduce those because they are new and also they are 50% tomorrow. I never even asked her to reduce. Also they were dated beginning of July. I then asked since they were closing for the day could I just get the deal on the geese and would pay full price for the sale. Since the sale was next time they opened. She said no. So I put back all the stuff I was paying full price for. They lost a 150.00 sale and a customer. It was the way it was handled. read more

This little thrift shop is a gem. The only drawback is that it is small but it's stuffed with treasures. Several times I have found brand new dresses with tags from Nordstrom for $10-12! Since all the merchandise is from donations you never know what you'll find. You have to have an open mind when you shop here. Last week I got a cute purple wall clock, perfect for my bathroom for $3. The week before I found a Justice brand jean jacket with sparkles for my niece for $2. There are lots of infant and toddlers clothes for $1. The store is non profit. It has a paid manager but all of the other helpers are volunteers. The proceeds from the shop go to Lutheran education in Camarillo and Simi Valley (there are no Lutheran schools in Moorpark). Due to its limited space it does not carry large furniture. Some of the more expensive items are posted on Postmark and Let it Go. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Not a bad place but not a great one. Some of the staff is friendly and some are not. The merchandise is mostly junk with a few cool things mixed in. They close at 4pm and you better believe they will be pushing you out at 4pm on the dot... not a minute later. read more

Ok so I've visited this store a few times over the years and it was always a little gem until this time. I thrift store shop all the time and have since childhood so I've seen plenty this place is cute small and what like a treasure hunt which is always fun but this time the clothes had no order to them and the prices yikes are they high. Example a stretched out T-shirt of no name brand 3-4 $,Slips 5$ and they are not the pretty vintage ones , and the glass ware was almost all 5$ a piece regardless of age or condition even more a rolling pin was 8$. Also the shoes are way over priced dirty and broken.Some things like cutlery vhs and books are still a decent price. Also the cashier was very rude and acted as if the customer where a bother . Hopefully they turn it around I really like having a reason to visit high street. read more

Luther's Attic has become an obsession for my husband and I. It is clean, well run, affordable and always has some fun little surprises. Great shop for vintage style dishes and glass. The employees are incredibly sweet and helpful. I only know Donna by name and she is always helpful and cheerful. It is a good cause and they offer free Christian books and pamphlets at the register. I would recommend Luther's Attic to everyone for a fun romp for some useful and some just fun indulgences. read more

It makes me a little sad that someone wrote a 1 star review for this place. I stopped in while thrifting in Moorpark/Simi. It's a nice local shop. The employees were super friendly and helpful. They had senior citizens working/volunteering which I love. Everything was extremely well organized and clean. Prices were clearly marked and very affordable. I found a vintage skirt and a latch hook rug wall hanging for $7 total. Cash only which can be difficult in this day and age but they also take checks. This thrift is small and over flowing with goods. But it's so nice walking in. The store keepers are the absolute sweetest. And they even have the vintage dresses separated into their own section. So it's easy to browse and everything is reasonably priced. My first time in I picked up dream catchers and a vase for under $5! read more
