I could easily scoop up a lounge pair of pjs or an adorable sweater- I stumbled on this place when we were going to lunch next door. The women in this boutique routinely discriminate against me for being a younger shopper, do not offer to help me whatsoever, and usually do not even say hello until I do- despite the fact that I have purchased things from the store many times before. Last time I was in, when I asked the price of a piece of jewelry, the woman behind the counter just said, "It's really expensive" and laughed. I'm not kidding... It really is unfortunate, though, because Sugar does have a lot of cute stuff. The associates just make your experience so uncomfortable that it isn't worth it to me. Walk a few steps down to M. Frederic or Siany and you will receive much better service, the women are actually friendly, and the clothes are honestly about the same. With that said, if you look like their favorite rich Westlake client, you may have a totally different experience. read more

Unfortunately, I was met at the door by the covid police insisting that I spray some chemicals on my hands in order to patronize her establishment. Oh God, I'm getting wallet anxiety just thinking about Sugar. Back when I used to think I was Rockefeller I used to frequent this place. I used to come here so much that I'd get phone calls almost weekly to let me know of the new stuff in that I'd love and it was on hold for me. I used to come here so much that I'd get a Juicy tracksuit for free on my come-back credit they give you. You know, I've wasted a lot of money in this store. Too much and that's really sad and pathetic. Buttt that's not the point. This is Westlake. Everything is going to cost you a fortune and damn right you're going to pay for it! Otherwise you are a nobody and should move to hillbilly Agoura! No, but really, you're going to pay a lot more here than Nordstoms. What you will get is personalized service that reels you in like a bad heroine addiction. It. is. just. too. good. YOU CANNOT SAY NO! You are somehow suddenly convinced you MUST have that $150 plain silk top that doesn't even fit you right but you'll take it anyway. What the eff kinda mirrors do they have in Sugar? Everything just looks so right there... But then you get home and looked like a classy Smeagol. Or maybe that's just me. The service here is the best, but it's a credit card vortex. If you are a mother don't take your daughter here to buy clothing without teaching her the value of a dollar first. If you are dumb enough to let your daughter come shopping here with your credit card without limit, you will finally reach your PERSONAL limit. Wait a minute... This is Westlake... The mothers taking their daughters shopping here are spending just as much and they don't know the value of a dollar either. Oh well. Just buy it all. This little boutique is such a find! It reminds me of Anthropologie in the type of attire they sell, but the accessories are so much more intricate and beautiful. Not only that, but you'll get great customer service from the women (I only saw women, anyway) working there. The owner was very kind and accommodating by finding things that I might like, and letting me know that more of a certain type of top were coming in soon (I realize that's partly to get me back in the store, but it worked...lol). This store has gorgeous, detailed, well sewn dresses, tops and jeans, as well as some fancy PJs, oh, and a wall of Hanky Panky thongs and bralettes. I also have to say their camisoles are really nice - they're the stretchy Niki Bikis, and I would recommend them to every woman! Very smooth, stretchy fabric that looks great under a low cut top or a button down. You can't find them online, either. Another thing I love about sugar is the presentation of the clothing. You walk in the big red, French doors and you're immediately charmed by the layout, which is obviously a meticulously planned floor set. The arrangement of the clothing is very pleasing to the eye. Oh, and they'll give you a coupon for your next visit, I believe it was 10% of what you spent is applied to your next purchase. Ingenious marketing....ha ha. Anyway, I'll for sure come back to check out the merchandise and to chat with the salespeople/stylists. This boutique not only has super cute merchandise but their staff is amazing! I purchased a romper there and noticed it was damaged after the fact, so I contacted the store to see if I could swap it out. They did not have my size left in the store so they contact everyone from other stores to brands reps to find me one. I live out of state so they send me the replacement and even hand wrote me a note. Their attention to detail and care for their store and customer deserves 5 stars if not more! read more

A few years ago this place was great. Recently visited and their clothes are picked over, boring styles/ colors and the store itself just looks old and dated. Sales staff was pleasant when I finally approached but seemed more into talking to one another than offering a helping hand. Would much rather go a few steps down and shop at M. Fredric. So cute! What a great find in Westlake Village! I was eating lunch next door and happened to walk by the display in the window and fell in love with a dress. The owner went and got it for me to try on and.. now I have a new dress! The stuff is really cute for the most part. A little expensive- especially for the basics. They had camis and some underwear and some sweatshirts that were ridiculously overpriced. However, the other clothes are really unique- nice prints, beautiful designs and quality materials used to make the garments. If you're looking for something nice and unique for a special event, then this is a great store to shop in. read more

Sugar has the most beautiful clothing selection, although their prices are a bit steep even for Westlake. I am in town visiting and was in today with a friend and tried on a few items. There was an amazing selection as always with a lot of my favorite brands. The sales lady was extremely helpful and friendly. I stopped in this afternoon and have never been treated so poorly. Not only did no one greet me or ask if they could be of assistance, but I was looked at like I was trash. As I was looking at clothing, a young worker came up next to me and looked like she was making a display. She just fiddled around with a manican, but she did block the way so I had to go around. After I browsed the store and was headed to the door, an older woman stood near the door, glared at me and then Walked back to the middle of the store. I have made purchases in the store before, but I will not be going back. There are plenty of other stores who would love to have my business. read more

One thing to know about me is I'm not very good at makeup or style but I do know what I like. Whenever I walk into Sugar (not as often as I would like) the sales persons seem to be able to find FOR me those items that best suit me and that I will love. Most times I wouldn't have picked them out. I've been urged to "just try them on". I have been amazed at the transformation that takes place once the items are on. The color, fit, and yes, style, all just perfect. I so appreciate the warm staff, variety in inventory, and range in size. I am a size 12 or 14 and there are lots of items my size. I love Sugar!!!! My mom and I who both live in the area always thought the things here looked super cute in the windows considering I work next-door. We both walked in without being greeted yet the two ladies working there were gossiping to one another and refused to acknowledge us. One younger girl set up a changing room for my mom and we never saw her again after that and had to figure out which room the outfit was in. The funniest part about this pretentious store is when one of the regulars walked in and was greeted and helped immediately with smiles on their faces. We shopped at M.Fredrick instead with helpful and welcoming faces, and cute clothes with more options to choose from. I'd never wish this experience on anybody.
