Honestly, it's one of my favorite places to get bar food that tastes better than bar food. The pizzas here are top flight, LOADED so much with toppings that they flop off when you pick up a slice. It's super fun to scramble your fingers back to the pan to grab a wayward hunk of yummy sausage or a thick slice of mushroom. And try the wings here, too. They're fat. They're juicy. They're cooked perfectly. You won't be sorry. TVs line the walls, so it's a great spot to catch a game or come hang after the game. read more

JT's just keeps getting better! This is a regular lunch spot every time I'm in the Cascade area. They quality and service are wonderful. At lunch you can get two large slices cooked fresh and a drink for under $9. There is also a patio and casual seating area with a bar and fireplace. I love JT's. I've eaten there many times and often get delivery. Last night we ordered takeout. We added the pepperoncini dip. It was all in a bag we didn't open until we got home. The container of dip was SO TINY! It was the size of the container they give you when you ask for extra catsup for your fries. Maybe 2 tablespoons. Maybe 3 good dips. Perhaps that's why we only received 10 chips. After years of enjoyment, to get screwed like that. I'm never ordering pepperoncini dip from JT's again. read more

I've been on the hunt for a really good pizza place recently and ended up at JT's on a Tuesday evening. As others have mentioned, the parking lot in front was completely full just before 6 pm. Luckily we found a spot marked for JT's customers near the side of the building. Maybe carpool if you're coming with friends! We were asked if we had a preference on seating when we arrived, and ended up in a cozy booth near the bar. The restaurant seems pretty big, with different spaces and rooms that looked nice for gatherings and events. The menu is pretty large, with salads, sandwiches, appetizers, pizza, and pasta. The deluxe pizza has all of my favorite toppings: Italian sausage, pepperoni, ham, mushroom, onion, green pepper, and shredded mozzarella. We got the medium, which is a 12" pizza. We also got an order of chicken tenders, because why not. The food took a little bit of time to come out but it was really good! The chicken tenders were just what I wanted - nothing special, but perfectly crispy and juicy inside. The pizza was impressive! Super loaded with toppings and we definitely could've gone with the small. It was nice to have leftovers, though. The crust was a bit soggy, making it more of a knife and fork situation, but the toppings were great quality and the quantity was great too. I appreciated that the sauce wasn't overly sweet. JT's is pretty far from my house, but I'm glad we made the drive to check it out. read more

Great environment for sports fans and food is solid. Little pricey but most of it is worth the cost.

When we showed up, the parking lot was PACKED (we parked a ways away) but there was a surprising amount of tables inside! We got seated right away. Our table got a couple beers, but I was feeling a cocktail, so I got a White Chocolate Cranberry Martini. It was decently boozy and had good flavor. I did sip it a little too long though, and it started to separate. Other than that though, it was tasty! We had some apps, including cheesy breadsticks and garlic parm wings. The breadsticks were absolutely delicious. The wings were also good, but came with a dry rub instead of sauce, which made us a little wary. The chicken itself was very juicy though! I really didn't even notice that they weren't saucy. One person at our table got the J. Dip sub- it came out VERY quick and was great! Plus, without subbing out fries for chips, it was only $7!!!! The BLT pizza had good flavor, but there were SO many toppings, it fell apart. I'd order it as a fork-and-knife kind of experience. The two pockets took a long time to come out, but they were worth the wait, I'd say. They had great flavor, although the hot pocket had a little more blue cheese than would have been preferred by us personally. One thing our whole table was obsessed with was the garlic butter It was SO good, everybody could not get enough. Overall, this was about what you'd expect from a sports bar type place! We walked in after 8 pm on Saturday. The place was basically empty. We asked to sit outside. We had a party of 3 and were told we couldn't have one of the 4 empty 6 tops outside. I would understand if the inside was packed or there was only one empty table outside. Another party of 4 came in right after us and wanted to sit outside also. They were also told no. So now there are 4 empty tables outside while two unhappy parties sit inside. Sorry it will be a while before we are back and maybe never. Don't get me wrong. I love the shrimp Mediterraneo. It's not the food it's the silly policies. read more

Should have 6 stars for this place. My favorite pizza in town. Nick runs a tight ship here. The food is always good, consistent, creative specials and reasonably priced. JT's has quite a following of regulars. One of the best French Dips I've had. They have a dedicated staff, lots of them that have been serving us there for years. Cleanest bathrooms in town. The garage bar area and outdoor seating is a great place to watch a game or catch up with friends while enjoying some food and drinks. read more

Jt's has been my favorite pizza spot in Grand Rapids for my whole life. I'm not a huge fan of the Detroit style pizzas (although Quarantino's is on my list), so thin and chewy has always been my go to. I usually get the deluxe but this time I wanted to try something new. This is the margarita pizza! Mozzarella, Parmesan, and Romano cheese with tomato and herbs. Like I said, crust is thin and chewy but exceptionally flavorful. The pizza sauce is more on the sweet side which paired nicely with the tomatoes. The basil and oregano gave a nice touch of flavor. It's a pretty light pie overall but it packs a lot of flavor. I think I'll have to try the bbq chicken pizza next. read more

I'm not from the area but had a couple hours to kill. Shout out to the Yelp review from 3 years ago that said the chocolate cake was so good you'd slap your mama... because that's what made me pick JT's. I ended up not getting the cake though. We visited JT's for the first time last Friday. We went after work and our appetites were small. We ordered a bottle of wine and two Small thin crust pizzas. I ordered sausage, artichoke hearts, and roasted red pepper. This pizza was so delicious! The crust was perfect. Not too thick and not paper thin. The sausage was perfect too. I cannot wait to go back. Takeout is definitely an option we will use frequently now! So close to our new place. Maybe tonight! You have to check out this menu. When I walked into work a few days ago, the office had a stack of JTs Pizza up for grabs. I was excited to try it since I've heard pretty good things. I tried a slice of the deluxe pizza and really enjoyed it. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the thickness of the crust was just what I like. I also liked that the slices weren't massive which made it easy to grab a slice and keep walking around the office. I can't comment on the location itself but the pizza will definitely make us try them again on our own. read more

JT's is the real deal and all you have to do is show up and meal time to get confirmation - the staff there is HUGE and always working at 150% to get orders out on time... anyplace that busy is obviously doing something right. Can't go wrong with their pizzas. Carry-out is easiest for our household but the pizza travels well. A+ read more

I wanted pizza from another pace but they didn't deliver to my hotel and I was too lazy to drive, so I found JT's on Yelp. I called and placed my order and was told it would be a 45-60 min wait. While I was disappointed in the time frame, I had already placed my order. I started to do some work and about 20-25 minutes after my call, the delivery guy knocked on my door. I was so excited that it was so early! I was pleased with the choice to try a new spot. The only complaint I had was that there was a little extra flour on one section of crust, but the rest of the pizza and crust was great. Grab a large Margherita and a large Hawaiian, and you'll be a super fan for life. Mind you, it's a bit more expensive than a Dominos or Caesars, but honestly, JTs is at a different level. They're consistent at hitting it out of the park, and that's coming from a pizza snob. Make sure to get their coupon from their website. This was the worst pizza I have had in a very long time! I was super bummed with the crust, the sauce, the toppings and the cook of the pizza. Staying in a nearby hotel, my husband and I were excited to find a super close pizza place. We ordered a pineapple and banana pepper pizza, size medium. I give them two stars rather than one for the fact that they delivered, it was affordable, and they were quick. Otherwise, it was all pretty negative! The crust was chewy, there was wayyyyy too little sauce, I could barely see it or taste it, the toppings were super bland and the pizza was not cooked well. The crust was hard and chewy. I ate two pieces but only because I was super hungry. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone sadly. read more

We got a deluxe pizza to go (no dining in at this time due to the pandemic) and it was great! The toppings were plentiful and well placed (I hate rearranging my toppings), however it could have used just a little more cheese. JT's, in my opinion, is a hidden gem. Nestled in the hillside of old 28th St lies an unassuming restaurant with great ambiance, abundant drinks, and a kick-arse gf option menu. Recent (within the last year or so) remodeling has added a great sports-bar like area in the back, and in the summer there's a neat deck for outdoor dining. Carry-out is timely, and delivery is available. But...this is where I talk about gluten free because JT's has stepped up their game. They were one of the first places in GR to offer gf pizza...and whomever they switched to as their supplier is amazing. I seriously wondered if it was gluten pizza! The Cascade is my favorite pizza, but even the cheesy breadsticks are freaking amazing! Whenever I hear a friend say "you need to try this new gf pizza, it was great!", JT's is my benchmark. Liked it so much the first time, we came back a week later. Now I don't know if it is every day or just on Monday's, but from 3-5, nine inch pizzas are half off. We were there on Monday each time. First we tried the cheese sticks. Excellent. First time we got a deluxe and an all meat pizza. The second time we ordered an all meat pizza and lasagna which came with a cup of soup and garlic toast. I loved the pizza on each trip. The lasagna was good, but the soup was awesome. Cheeseburger soup. First time I have ever tried this soup anywhere and I was really glad I did. Let my wife try some. That was a mistake. I didn't get any back. I liked the atmosphere. It was kind of cool. I will be back to try some more items. read more

Got a Large Deluxe Pizza and a Small Bacon, Sausage, Pepperoni for Friday night dinner and then had it delivered to the hotel the next night. This place doesn't disappoint for their Pizza, outstanding. Their homemade sausage was great and the rest of the toppings plentiful. It was really really good. Friday night we dined in and the service was great. The next night had it delivered to our Airport hotel and it was quick and just like the night before, pizza was again outstanding. If you are in visiting in town I would highly recommend this place. Will definitely be going back with each GrandRapids visit. read more
