Monkey Bar is a whole vibe! Had such a fun night here during our trip to Provincetown. Our server David was amazing--super attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. You can tell he really cares about creating a great experience for guests. We ordered a little bit of everything: two creative martinis (the Cinnamon Toast Crunch-tini and Jack & Thyme-tini were both hits), plus a mix of apps and sushi. The potstickers, crab rangoon, sesame BBQ boneless ribs, pulled pork bao, and Asian cucumber salad were all packed with flavor. And the Whitney Houston Roll? Chef's kiss. Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. Loved the atmosphere too--chill but stylish, with great energy. This is a Ptown bar you do not want to miss. They know how to make drinks here and if you want to swallow something big Monkey offers enormous concoctions. Staff are always pleasant and give the bar a neighborhood feel. There is also a nod to my hometown of Wilton Manors with a drink named after the city. We were blown away with how great everything was. We were expecting a dive bar, but it was very nice and modern restaurant and bar. I was skeptical of Thai food in Ptown because I grew up with great food at my family's Chinese restaurant. Food was so delicious and honestly the best Thai food I've ever had. We had the Thai Tuna Tartare, House Pad Thai, and the Thai Peanut Chicken. My dad makes a pretty good Pad Thai, but the House Pad Thai blows his out of the water. Shhh! Don't tell him! There were chunks of beef that fell apart, not the typical thinly sliced flank steak. The calamari were also super tender, not rubbery at all. Absolutely delicious and great portion sizes. The food also came out really quick, which is a sign of a great Asian restaurant. We also got Thai Tea and the double espresso martini and they were great as well. My fiancée said the espresso martini was the best he ever had, beating out our favorite spot back home. Cannot recommend this place enough! read more

I have been coming to The Monkey bar for the last 6 years Johnny and David completely remodeled during covid and it is gorgeous! The martinis are the best in town and Johnny's food is superb. The crispy shrimp dumplings are my favorite and the curry is fantastic. We tried several dishes tonight and loved every one. The food is always cooked fresh to order with the best possible ingredients. This is the place to go in Ptown. The bears know this, everyone else needs to check it out. read more

It's like an expensive dive bar that promotes martinis. Got wasted after one drink. Crowd that night was Cougar Moms. I've been to smaller bars in smaller towns that play better music and don't charge as much as this Sh*tlon Manors offshoot. Smallest bar I've ever seen. Decided to stop by as we were making our way home. We always turn up Conat st. It was around 6pm on a Thursday and we could get two seats at the bar. I had 2 tasty Sapphire martinis and my SO had two wines. No food was ordered. Had great conversation with people and owner. All and all a fun time. read more

We got a table for 2 quickly but there was a line when we left. Our waitress (I forgot her name :() was very nice. Drinks were delicious and so was the food. Unfortunately they close after Labor Day for the season so if you want to try out the place you may have to wait til next year. If we come back to Ptown we would definitely return. I have been coming to the Monkey Bar for many years now. Therefore this review is based on the many times I've been here (approx 10 times). When I come to Ptown to visit, I stay at my uncles house a few blocks from the Monkey Bar. The bar happens to be on the way to the house after sightseeing and walking around downtown/Commercial Street so you know it's our last stop, every time, all the time! And it never disappoints. This cute, small yet cozy bar welcomes you with open arms. Walk they the red doors and you will find what you need, the bar! Smiling faces taking your drink orders and food as well. A great selection from their sushi bar compliments of Jhonny Tai Bistro. Form sushi to chicken lettuce wraps, fried calamari and my favorite Crispy Thai Shrimp Rolls! Safe to say Monkey bar is a must! You might find Jhonny walking around, make sure you say hi. I got warn you though, once you step into the Monkey Bar, you might not leave until they close (meaning until you get kicked out) but no worries, you can do it all over again next day! read more

They make the worst drinks/cocktails. The most basic ones were undeniable, and they are more expensive than a NYC bar. They could not make a Long Island Iced Tea or a Manhattan. I made one visit to this location during a 4th of July visit to P-town and I was at Georgie's Alibi/Monkey Bar in Wilton Manors, Florida, in April. I'm told both are owned by the same people. Both places are very nice and they had good drink prices in Florida; I didn't order an alcoholic drink with dinner in P-town. Unfortunately, I encountered the same problem in both places. In my opinion, the food, while not a disaster, just wasn't worth the prices charged. The quality of the food that I received at both locations was on par with what I would expect if I had microwaved a frozen entree from a supermarket or gas station convenience store. Now that I have tried both places (and have no desire to eat gas station food when I am on vacation), I will not return to either of them. read more

The Monkey Bar is one of my favorite bars in Provincetown. Its only open in the summer months. They just remodeled a few years back but it still small and comfortable, for both men and women. I see a lot of reviews here complaining about the service, and I couldn't disagree more! The service and atmosphere are usually the number one reasons I come to MB & highly recommend it to others. You get what you give. Bar is quite spacious, they also have great music and plenty of couches. Perfect place if you have a decent sized group. I have been visiting Ptown for years, and it's always a place I hop to the first night I get here. Cocktail list is HUGE. Plenty of top shelf liquor on hand, and cocktails are well crafted. If you're stingy and are looking for cheap booze/drinks, then don't waste your time. You get what you pay for, and they make a mean margarita! My 2 friends and I came to this place for some Thai food. The environment was great. Our waiter JFK was absolutely FABULOUS!! The food was delicious and the drinks were on point. The waiter was very friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable. I feel like we were besties before I even left! Lol I would certainly come here again. Worst dining experience we have had in PTown! The server was simply rude and the drinks are insanely overpriced. The server recommended a drink and after trying it and not liking it at all she offered to switch it. The bartender brought over a different drink which was pure octane and undrinkable. He said they make their drinks strong there. I've had strong but never on the rubbing alcohol caliber. He then brought over another drink. When we got our bill they charged us for 2 of the 3 drinks and an up-charge for tequila we never asked for bringing that drink to $27! When we asked the rude server her response was "the manger wanted us to charge you for all 3!" We of course asked for the manager and were told he wasn't there.
