From the moment we arrived, our waiter Bruce made us feel completely welcome. He was not only incredibly friendly and professional, but also so accommodating and attentive to both us and our children. It's rare to find someone who goes above and beyond to make a family feel comfortable, and Bruce truly did just that. The food was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly, and the outstanding service made the entire evening even more enjoyable. A tasty meal! We sat at the bar and ordered lunch. I started with the Smokey seafood chowder and it was delish. It is not as thick as you may expect but it is still very good. Next, we shared the Cape Cod Fish Fry and it was perfect. The fish was fresh and the batter was crisp but not greasy. It was possibly the best mixed fried seafood plate I've had so far. EXTREMELY DISTURBING EXPERIENCE WITH THE WAITER! This took place around 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 4. Our group consisted of three couples dining together. At the end of the meal, we asked if the bill could be split into thirds. Our waiter, Martin P., told us that he would not split the check and instead instructed us to write down exactly what each person ordered so that he could charge us separately. Although no other restaurant we visited in Provincetown required us to do this, we followed his instructions and listed our individual items. When Martin returned, he was visibly upset and stated that our payments were approximately $70 short. There was confusion because our group was trying to determine who had already paid, who had not, and whether something had been missed in the calculations. I even asked whether we were expected to calculate individual tax amounts ourselves, as no one knew what tax would be for each separate charge. Rather than calmly helping us resolve the discrepancy, Martin began yelling at our group. At one point he stated, "If I don't get $70, I am going to charge one of the credit cards that I have." This immediately concerned us. We were not refusing to pay. We were actively trying to understand where the discrepancy occurred and make sure the restaurant received the full amount owed. To resolve the issue, one of my friends and I went with Martin into a back room to review the charges. After reviewing everything, my friend agreed to pay the remaining balance immediately. The payment was processed and the bill was fully paid. At that point I was trying to calm the situation and bring it to a close. Instead, Martin became even more agitated and began yelling profanities at us. He shouted, "Get the f*** out of my restaurant! It's people like you why we don't split checks! You all need to get the f*** out now!" Other people started noticing this go down. We were stunned. The bill had been paid. Nobody was attempting to leave without paying. We were simply trying to resolve a billing issue after following the waiter's instructions. As we were leaving, my wife later told me that Martin placed his HAND ON HER BACK and guided her toward the exit. While it was not forceful, it felt unnecessary and added to an already hostile and intimidating experience. What happened next is why I ultimately decided to write this review. A few days later, while walking through Provincetown looking for a place to have lunch, our group passed The Mayflower Food & Drink and noticed Martin working there. When he saw us, he deliberately tapped on the glass to get our attention. After making eye contact, he made a hand gesture across his neck and pointed for us to leave and keep walking. The original incident had already ended. The bill had been paid. Yet days later he still felt the need to single out our group and signal that we were unwelcome. Had this simply been confusion over a split check, I would not be writing this review. Billing mistakes happen. What I cannot overlook is being threatened with unauthorized credit card charges, being screamed at with profanity while attempting to resolve the issue, being ordered out after the bill had been paid, Martin touching my wife, and then encountering the same employee days later making a gesture directed at our group from another restaurant. This experience was troubling enough that I believe others should be aware of it. read more

Great place for lunch or dinner. They have a good variety of beer on tap or bottled and canned. I enjoy the Devil's Purse kolsch, and my husband likes the Chimay red. The food menu is just what you are looking for in a gastropub. But we usually order the Cape Cod fish fry, with fried fish, scallops and shrimp. These are perfectly cooked, with a crisp coating. Slaw was relatively tasteless. Chicken was nicely fried. It had a decent flavor overall but wasn't anything super special. We did upgrade ($4!) For sweet potato fries - they were delicious! I came on lunch time on the weekday, so immediately I got a Seat. Sat by the bar, asked the bartender what's the recommendation for food. He simply said the back of the house are Nepalese. I immediately choose Nepalese curry (chicken) and spicy beef kebab (medium rare). It's well seasoned and has great flavor. Doesn't even deserve one star, but I have to put at least one To leave my review. my family and I visited recently, and it was a very loud and a bit crowded atmosphere in there. we squeezed into a booth, and the busboy brought us waters. He was very nice and timely with that. We saw the waiter but he took quite a bit of time before he came to greet us. He was chatting with a table for an extended amount of time, I think they were either regulars or friends, and that was actually fine, we were not in any rush. When he finally come to our table I asked about ingredients as my daughter and I have several food allergies. He didn't even listen, just said it we should be fine. I felt uneasy as he answered too quickly, wait staff usually checks with the chef, so I mentioned the allergy one more time. He just handed me a gluten free menu, this is when I tried to explain it was not gluten, I said we usually get a plain burger, but other restaurants cook it over a piece of foil so it doesn't touch the same surface as seafood etc. he then said he wasn't going to rearrange the kitchen for us. This was a shock because it takes about 30 seconds to rip off a sheet of foil, and doing so is in no way rearranging the kitchen. He was very rude and just didn't want to take the time to help us out. We left and went to the lobster pot, they were very accommodating for our allergies. If you have food allergies or any sensitivities, skip this place, they can't even be bothered to let you finish your sentence or check with the chef on the safety of something. The service wasn't bad, but there were only 2 servers running the place. The ambiance is what you would expect from a gastropub or bar. It was partially filled. I got the clam chowder and the fish and chips. The clam chowder was decent, as it had some good flavor but was relatively runny compared to other chowders I had. The fish and chips were subpar, as the fish was mediocre but the fries were nice. If you want a quick bite, you can go here, but don't expect anything crazy. read more

Fortunate to have the Pig open on a cold winter night... Friendly crowd packed the bar and dining room on a Saturday night (it's lively and loud when busy). Super service, fresh ingredients... awesome bbq wings, huge burger cooked perfectly, and the house salad is a great combo of mixed greens, avocado, orange segments, roasted pepitas, sunflower seeds, and a tasty house dressing. Quick service and a repeat visit actually... the BBQ pork was spot on, their double cooked fries a lovely salty point against the rich sweet bbq sauce. But I was remiss in not reveling in the Fish and Chips ordered by my lovely date. Fresh and so lightly breaded it melted in my mouth. Hitting this place just before dinner rush in PTown is advisable for quick food and great service from what my girlfriend and her bestie call "the hot older guy". Stoped in on a hot summer day for a lateish lunch. Got a table for 3 right away and had a beer order placed and served in no time. Beer selection is wide - lots of can pours from a variety of NE locations - in addition to a good selection of Proper Pints drafts. Fairly standard pub type menu but I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the Raw Bar selections. Had 1/2 dozen oysters that were excellent! A great place when you're in Provincetown on the Cape, the food choices were awesome. They had a full bar in the wheat. Staff was very quick to get your orders, it was a very busy time when we were there, but they took care of us the way it was amazing, there was not one bad choice on that menu. The rice was fluffy and it was a good side for the curry dish. My husband got the chicken pesto panini and it was just OK. I would get the curry dish again, for sandwiches I would get the Cuban one. He was super friendly and always available to make recommendations. Firstly, this is my fav eatery in town. The vibe is very Euro/Uk pub in feel. Tables are close and it's loud. Being sensory sensitive, these factors are usually off putting for me but at SP, it works. The raw bar is a must. The briny oysters are great but the huge fresh shrimp are amazing. I love the French red wine. The beers are top! I am mad in love over their house cut fries. The smoked haddock chowder is amazing. I don't eat meat but savored my partner's rich broth. Met some family at the squealing pig today for lunch. Staff was very accommodating helping us get a table that would allow a wheelchair at. We sat at a window seat and it was nice to watch the people walk by. My daughter and wife both got the butter milk fried chicken with Cole slaw and fries. The half chicken cut into 4 pieces had a crispy breading on it and was a bit dry. Possibly from spending a bit too much time in the fryer. The hand cut fries were nice but the Cole slaw while flavorful the portion was possibly 3 tablespoons. I had the fish and chips which were good with the same fries and the same 3 tablespoons of Cole slaw. My other daughter had the chicken sandwich with fries and slaw. Overall it was ok. The value was a bit lacking and we had hoped for a moist juicy chicken....can't always hit a home run. read more

During my visit over Memorial Day, I went to the squealing pig twice. The first visit I had the fish sandwich that came with the fries. They are twice fried fresh cut potatoes and we're absolutely delicious. The fish sandwich was perfectly fried and just lovely. The bun was great and it was just a very satisfying meal. I sat at the bar the first visit and the bartender and fellow guests were all so nice. The second visit I went just for a snack of french fries!!! my friend had the chicken soup with rice and said it was delicious. Very cute spot not pretentious great service. We had just worked up quite the appetite paddle boarding for what I was convinced was at least an hour and a half but turns out it was less than an hour. Either way, all of that paddling and all of the water requires some caloric intake. This place earned our business by virtue of the fact that it was literally right there when we came back to shore. I remembered reading good reviews about this place so I was optimistic. I was in more of a savory alcohol mood and went against my better judgment and ordered their Bloody Mary. The thing is, I love bloody Mary's but I'm exquisitely picky and too often I have been disappointed when ordering them out so I just gave up tbh and only made them at home. This was the exception and disappointed is an under statement. The flavor isn't great for my taste but what really repulsed me is all of the fucking horseradish in there. I don't need to chew my beverage. GF, on the other hand, liked it enough she happily drank mine when I could no longer tolerate it. I will say that I appreciate the vegetarian options on their menu. I really need to lighten my diet up so elected to go with their house salad with mixed greens, avocados, orange segments, roasted peptias, and sunflower seeds. I added the optional falafel and I'm glad I did because that was definitely the best part of the meal. The falafel were very crispy on the outside, warm and flavorful on the inside. I never thought I would encounter this problem in a place like Provincetown but they didn't even toss my salad. There were parts of the salad that were way too heavily dressed and then other parts that were completely dry. The bowl was too small for ME to toss it and I don't think I should be expected to do so in a restaurant unless there was some pussy "dressing on the side" bullshit in which there is no alternative. I applaud their ingenuity with the oranges and I appreciate the extra plants and vitamin C but I am not convinced that it paired well with the other flavors but that could just be because of the falafel. GF ordered their vegetable sandwich with seasoned grilled vegetables, hummus, yogurt dill sauce on grilled pita bread. She says "it was very good, I loved it" and I was jealous AF. This is what I get for being "healthy". The side of fries that accompanied the sandwich were DELICIOUSLY salted and I assisted in their consumption. Speaking of fries, I ordered their Nepali curry fries to give me the will to live after ordering the salad. I again like where they're going with this as I like curry and I like fries and why hasn't anyone thought of combining these things before on THIS side of the Atlantic Ocean. I liked the flavor of these bad boys but the sauce makes them super soggy which detracts from the experience. What if you go to a restaurant on Cape Cod and Yelp recommends a Cuban sandwich.....you must get the Cuban sandwich. Yelp FTW! One of the better Cuban sandwiches I've had. Completely unexpected on Cape Cod. Truth be told we did order a dozen wellfleet oysters which were delicious. Even my daughters tried and kind of liked the oysters. Not bad for their first oyster.
