I just don't get it. Their high star rating. The wings are trash and I can't believe that THIS is what replaced Fire Wings?! Like REALLY?! These are the worst wings that I have EVER consumed and I'm still trying to figure out how this place is still in business?! Had a rare craving for chicken wings one night and remembered that I still hadn't tried this spot. Dropped by and the place was completely empty. That was the first warning that I ignored. Walked up to the counter and there was nobody at the register. Took a few minutes to look at the menu and noticed that there were only wing meals or party wing packs. Finally called out to see if someone was there, and a young gentleman came out to the front. I asked him if they served wings a la carte in a smaller size and not a party pack, but he said they didn't. Kind of disappointing but whatever. Looked again at the menu and noticed that the prices were kind of high for the bone in wing meals. For reference; for 8 bone in wings + a side and drinks it's $17. Maybe I'm cheap, but that just seems pricey to me. Especially since I really just wanted wings without the sides and drink. Decided to order the boneless wing combo for a better value. Got the 10 piece wing combo (Thai chili and garlic parmesan) and a side of tots. I think my first mistake was ordering boneless wings. When I saw them in the box, I was already disturbed. They were like hella tiny chicken nuggets but worse. First of all, who the hell prepares garlic parmesan wings like this? The "parmesan" shreds were literally thrown on top and definitely weren't fresh. Tried the wings they were friggin' TERRIBLE! Dry AF and clearly overcooked. They also had that freezer burn taste which clearly indicated to me that they had been frozen and for a while. Also despite all of those parmesan shreds, they tasted damn near completely flavorless. The Thai chili wings were gross too. Not enough rub and they were also hella dry. The dips didn't help at all either. Literally couldn't finish the wings. The tots were waaaay too salty and over fried. Like what in the faaack are these people doing back there in that kitchen? Because they certainly ain't cookin' sh!t back there. Literally threw everything away and got fast food that night. Wasn't trying to drive all the way back there for a refund or for them to remake it. When you know... you know. Waste of time and money. Still can't believe that they are charging for those wings. Maybe their bone in wings are better but I'm really not trying to find out after this experience. Skip it and FAST. read more

Actually found this place from TikTok. Nice outdoor seating area in downtown Concord; they also have lots of indoor seating and bar seating as well. The cashier greeted me right away and made somw recommendations on fan favorites as well as her own favorites. I only had to wait maybe 5 minutes for my order which was brought out to me. Monster Wings is nicely tucked within Todos Santos Plaza. There's a decent-sized parking lot located next door. The lot holds about 10 cars. Upon entering Monster, you'll notice the similarity to a Buffalo Wild Wings (their logos look somewhat similar). Monster had a small bar (to the right) within its 200 square foot dining area. The bar was unmanned but it contained three, 30 inch T.V.'s for our entertainment. The dining area had a single family with a few kids eating near the front. A few customers trickled inside, but, overall, it wasn't considered "too busy". I was disappointed to hear that their lumpia appetizers were "sold out". Surprisingly, it was still early in the evening (6:30 pm). I spent about $35 ( before tax/tip) on 17 wings. The flavors we ordered were Teriyaki, Tikka Masala, Sweet Curry and Thai Chili. 12 wings came with a choice of chips, while 5 of the wings came with a choice of plain fries. We waited for a good 10-12 minutes for our wings to arrive. I was impressed by the clean presentation of our food. The wings and things were nicely assembled. Although I took a few minutes of taking foodie pics, the fries, chips and wings were just "warm". The chips and fries were underseasoned. Also, the wings were neither plump or juicy. This was my first time here and and I really enjoyed everything I had. I walked and quickly greeted the friendly cashier. I ordered the boneless wings and flavors that I tried was the Nashville hot so delicious, and it came with bread and butter pickcles, which were sweet to the heat. The Tikka Masala was spot on and delicious. The Zilla and the Thai chili were also great. Every piece was moist and tender, also perfectly cooked. I'm giving them a 4 star but this is actually more deserving of 3.5 stars. They replaced the old Fire Wings, same interior but different menu. There's seating indoors and outside. I love that they have hand washing stations outside of the restroom so you don't have to go in the bathroom if you're just looking to wash your hands (saucy fingers gang)! We tried 3 wing flavors: Ghost buster- might just be my fav Buffalo out of all the chains. Perfect amount of heat, and not overly vinegary (talking about you bww) Lemon pepper- my least fav of the trio. The lemon pepper flavor just wasn't there at all and these wings seem battered with a thin coating. Zilla- this one has so much potential but just missed the mark a little bit. If this one had some heat, it would elevate the flavor by so much but unfortunately, you get a strong taste of sweet soy sauce only. The umami is there, it just needs boost. We also has seasoned fries and garlic cheese curds. These fries are sooooo crispy but the inside is soft, which is perfect. My SO thought it was overly crispy though. I had been here a few times and they are consistent. I had ordered the Buffalo Wings Bone in, and the Nashville Wings and BBq Wings Boneless. They had a choice of Tater tots and a drink was included. I wish I could say I have had a single good experience at Monster Wings because their food truly is so good but every experience has been a nightmare. I called ahead at 6:05 PM and was told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. My husband showed up after that time frame and ended up waiting over an hour! I HE DID NOT GET OUR FOOD TILL AFTER 7:00. I get that sometimes you get very busy. I worked in the restaurant industry for 10+ years as a waitress. The lack of communication was beyond frustrating. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly rude. Not a single one of them seemed to care about the long wait times or the clearly annoyed customers. When I politely inquired about the status of our order, I was told that the employee that I TALKED TO WHEN I PLACED THE ORDER SAID 40-50 minutes. Why lie? Just own up to your mistake and make up for it. Right? It's really disappointing when a restaurant has the potential to be great but falls short due to poor service and ridiculously long wait times. I was excited to try Monster Wings since I had seen so many good reviews, but must admit I was fairly disappointed. The ambience was okay, I imagine during the evening when it's full it's a lot of fun, but midday at lunch it felt kind of odd. When I walked in only one person was there and I felt like I was intruding, it was a weird vibe to have in a restaurant and I'm not entirely sure what caused it. Funny enough a coworker came in a few minutes after and said she felt the same way. The bathroom was fairly dirty and you had to ask for a burdensome key to access it. I understand businesses in the area have to lock the bathrooms due to past issues but if you hand me a large stick with keys attached that both looks and feels sticky I start to question how clean the whole place is. Onto the food: I tried the Thai Chili and the Tikka Masala. The tikka masala was alright, the Thai chili was way too sweet. I truly wonder if I even got the right order as neither tasted how I expected. The soda machine had a lot of options and some of those little flavor injectors, which was honestly the best part of my meal. I'm a sucker for vanilla in my drinks. Would I go back? Probably not. Secondly, I should have checked through all the items in the bags before leaving as I got home and discovered we only had a single order of fries although we had ordered two. Third, another reason to check through the entire order before leaving: we ordered a boneless 15 combo, but what was in the bag was a bone-in 15 combo. Our daughter has braces and can't eat chicken on the bone, I took the time to pick everything off the bones as best I could, but is not something I should even have to do as I ordered boneless wings. Just pay attention to the words that are right there in front of you, and everyone is happy. Majority of the items in our order were cold and soggy. We live not even 10 minutes from the Concord location, so by the time I picked up the order until I had it out on our counter at home wasn't longer than 15 total minutes. Appreciate what you all are doing, but this isn't that hard. What is the point of ordering something specific or at a certain quantity if your workers are just going to give customers whatever? Recommend reviewing order tickets/receipts with workers so that they pay attention to what is actually on them instead of making it up as they go along. And the cherry on top: terrible blue cheese, so bad I would NEVER call it that if you gave it to me in a blind taste test. It tastes like mayo with vinegar, which would explain the watery, vinegar forward, flavor. Absolutely ZERO chunks and tastes like a cheap salad dressing *not* a wing sauce. Easily the worst "blue cheese" I have had in a very long time. Once I threw all of our items in the air fryer to warm them up and add some much-needed crispness, things were at least adequate.
