Cute little coffee shop. I stopped in since I was traveling through and running a little early for my arrival nearby. I'm always up for a mocha, but the ginger cookie caught my attention and I went for a little treat. Chewy and great ginger spice. Coffee was really good and it's a cozy location to hang out.

It's been a minute since my last visit to The Moth Coffeehouse. Their menu is consistent and with vegan and vegetarian options. Be sure to check the clipboard for special items before ordering. Same great taste, same decor and same service. All are good! Ordered today was the Vegan Chick'un Caesar Wrap, a soy latte, a drip coffee and a croissant. The Chick'un Ceasar Wrap has House made Chick'un patty, romaine, house made cashew caesar dressing, vegan cashew parm. Their proteins are made in-house and the Chick'un is chickpea based. The food and beverages were solid. The Moth Coffeehouse has great coffee, eats, sweet and savory treats, service and atmosphere.

I had the beet burger over salad and chickpea salad over salad. Both dishes were good. I also has a peanut butter/ chocolate dessert which was rich and delicious. The staff here were of upmost friendliness and the environment was immaculate. This restaurant is nestled in a small historic type of village making it all the more enjoyable to visit

Came back again after many years because I kept hearing good things about Moth, and especially their beet burger. The service was very friendly and prompt. The coffees came out before the food, and we enjoyed both the latte and iced coffee. The beet burger was quite disappointing. I expected it to be quite loose, as I've had beet burgers before, but I didn't expect it to be quite so bland. The burger itself had no flavor, and the amount of sauce that accompanied it didn't make up for it.

    Enormous Coffee! Vegan Blueberry Cake!

Cute coffee shop located on Main St in Allentown, NJ! This shop is situated in the back of a shared space. There are signs to indicate yoga and pilates classes are on-site. The dining area is super cozy and adorned with ferns, house plants, and natural light. I ordered an enormously large coffee, blueberry lemon cake, and mac and cheese. So many tasty vegan or vegetarian entrees and treats! The vegan blueberry lemon cake was heavenly. I love a natural, lightly sweetened vegan icing and they do it right at the Moth Coffeehouse. The mac and cheese was made with spiral noodles and served with a bed of greens to balance the heavy carbs. Fun times and the perfect spot to work, have a lunch date, or restore over coffee.

As others have said, The Moth is a great spot to check out. Here, one can enjoy some better than average coffee and take in the sights and sounds of the small waterfall behind the building, which was an old gristmill. If you want a respite from the sea of strip malls and subpar chain coffee, this is a great option. Right now, they're only doing take out orders due to COVID. No problem, that's understandable and they're hardly the only businesses still operating in that mode. However a couple of things puzzled & annoyed me: -no bathrooms for customer use (provides a "hey am I in Manhattan?" ambiance) -I didn't spot a single trash/recycling bin among their outdoor tables and chairs When you drop nearly $20 on a couple of drinks and a couple of bakery items, it would be nice to have somewhere to eliminate the waste! Also, the coffee cake I ordered was no better than entenmann's. I could taste and feel the butter grease, and it had crunch, but that's about it. It even looked just like entenmann's and unfortunately wasn't worth the calories. On the other hand, their chocolate chip zucchini bread was great and I'd highly recommend that. My espresso was better than average, my boo's macchiato was not mixed well, it would be wise to bring your own straw for this. Allentown is almost a "blink and you'll miss it" type of place with a lot of charm, especially in comparison with its neighbors Hamilton & Robbinsville. It's always the right choice to stop by the Moth anytime they're open for a nice coffee & (perhaps) a tasty baked good. Just make sure nature isn't calling and you've got one of those "for the car" trash receptacles. We all look forward to when they can reopen their beautiful interior for days you want to be inside. P.S. parking in their lot was very tough on a Saturday morning. Fortunately we found the last spot. There is another lot down the road on Main Street and it's a nice easy walk. Another bonus: no stupid "cash only," they take cards!

3 and 3/4 stars…read more Someone said a "slice of Boca"? No, not quite. (Although "not Boca" isn't necessarily a bad thing.) However you look at it, the comparison is inflated. The latte was good (not delicious), but a tad watery with a fullness of flavor missing. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was busy, but not overwhelming so. Tables were full, but it was only a short wait for me to place my simple order (by coffee shop standards) of a small, vanilla latte. However, once my order was taken (yes, the wait-server was pleasant) and I paid, I was left to figure it out. First time in and so I didn't know what the deal was: do I wait where I am? Pick up at a different counter? Ok...but where? Does someone call my drink out when it's ready (there's no put-your-name-on-a-cup thing -- which IS annoying, but apparently can be more handy than I've previously thought)? Is the order stated when the cup is placed down? The person who waited on me had vanished into a gaggle of chatting and giggling girls behind the counter, so I asked another customer. (FYI: you wait at the perpendicular counter to your left of the register.) No big deal, but it's one of those "little things" that separates the four stars from the five. I moved to the "wait" counter and observed a few drinks being placed down -- all beverages in similar cups -- and had to (again) ask someone else for help (i.e., which order was mine), as the barista who made my drink put it down and then disappeared into that gaggle of girls. (Also minor, but another separator of the three and three quarter stars from the four.) In short, the latte was good, but not the best. The service? Ok, but not the best. The ambiance? Again ok. Maybe because I've lived in SE Florida for more than 20 years, but it definitely does not have that true Boca feel. Nonetheless, given the options in the area, Hamilatte is a welcome attempt at something different, and definitely a preferred choice to Starbucks. I will return if I'm nearby, but I won't go out of my way (as I do for a truly 5-star establishment).

I'd like to share how pleased I am about this tea cafe. I came here on a cold and snowy Saturday,…read morebecause my friends live nearby and I was going over their house to hang out, but I wanted to get tea first. The employees behind the counter were cheerful, and they say a phrase in Japanese that means, "welcome," which is a nice touch. The first thing I noticed in the shop was the matcha mill. They actually have two matcha mills running the entire time, and the employee later told me that it's milling and grinding the matcha to get the freshest matcha possible. Grinding and serving the matcha from its fresh ground state really makes their matcha stand out, and I could definitely tell. I was thinking about getting a cold matcha anyway because I didn't want to microwave it later, but they informed me that their machine for hot matcha wasn't working. That is not the best situation for people who wanted a hot drink, especially since it was so cold and damp outside, but I was really interested in a cold drink anyway, so it didn't really bother me. I got their red bean matcha with oat milk, and I was so happy when I drank it because it tasted like actual real matcha. I've gotten matcha at Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts and I haven't expected anything phenomenal, but I've also gotten matcha at matcha shops and the matcha just doesn't taste right because it was too sweet. This matcha, however, tasted exactly the way matcha should taste! I really, really enjoyed my drink so much, and they serve it unsweetened. I didn't even need to put sweetener in it, but I did put a tiny bit of simple syrup. All I have to say is definitely try this place. You will not be disappointed. Their matcha is amazing, and I am going back to this place every time I visit my friend's house.

You even get to see the matcha being freshly milled so you know you're getting some good quality stuff! During each of my visits, I ended up getting whatever monthly/seasonal special they were offering. The first time, I got the ube matcha latte and during my last visit, I got the peppermint chocolate latte. One thing I didn't realize during my first visit is that they give you your drink without the lid so you can sweeten it as you wish. They have syrup that you can pump into your drink. Needless to say, my drink was unsweetened the first time, but still tasty and good enough for me to return. By my second visit, I figured this out as I watched someone else add the syrup to their drink. I literally added a couple of drops because I actually enjoy it when it's not overly sweet. Also, I LOVE that they make all their drinks with oat milk so I don't have to ask for the substitution like I do at most other places. During each visit, I have always received friendly service. I would definitely return!

From there, I gave them a follow on social media and checked out their website. Sadly, the bakery is about an hour from where I live, but it's about 15-20 minutes from where I work. However, they usually close at 3 pm, which means I would be scrambling in right before they close or I may not make it at all. Bummer! Needless to say, I saw they do dessert orders for the holidays, so that was my golden opportunity! For Thanksgiving, I ordered a purple sweet potato pie and a banana pudding pie. I got to select the date that I'd be picking up my pies, which was on a day that I had to go to the office. During the week leading up to Thanksgiving, the bakery was closed for regular operations. They were only open for dessert pick ups. The pies were a hit! The banana pudding pie was everyone's favorite. Needless to say, for Christmas, a larger order was placed for banana pudding pie, salted honey pie, apple crumb pie, and mashed potato rolls. Now for Christmas, the bakery was open for regular operations and you had to pick up your pre-ordered desserts at their sister business, Melba Ice Creamery, around the corner. Because it was Christmas Eve and I already had a slew of sweets pre-ordered, I decided not to try to go to the bakery that day. Nevertheless, the goods were a hit again! The only downside is that the crust on the banana pudding pie was a little different the second time around, making it tougher to slice and get out of the pan. It was still tasty though! Would I return? Absolutely!
