On 03/29/26 my husband & I came & checked out Lyberry Cafe. The ambiance in the Cafe was very bright & welcoming! Lots of fresh artwork and a lot of seating options! Perfect for a quick coffee date or coming to work on something either for work or school! I got a hot Matcha Latte, I will say it was a little strong for my liking but that is my own fault I should have asked for honey to sweeten it. My husband & I ordered lunch from there as well! He ordered a sandwich which I have a picture for & i ordered a Kale salad whicg was so delicious! The food was very flavorful! It is also a 10 min drive for us which was convenient & nice! About a year ago we decided to brew our coffee at home using quality beans and high speed grinder in order to save money and drink better coffee. We succeeded in both respects, saving over $20 a week in Java fees and thoroughly enjoying our handiwork as we controlled our filtered water and fresh ingredients throughout the process. But, yesterday I found myself out and about - out of coffee and about to take drastic action to remedy this problem. I looked up as I drove through Cranbury, NJ, and saw a sign for Lyberry Cafe in a newish commercial strip on the south side of town. The Universe provides. I pulled in, parked and walked in to a chill large warehouse-looking space with painted library walls on one end with comfy leatheresque easy chairs and small tables for privacy, and a long row of tables/wooden benches/chairs along running the length of the deep room and partially across from the service area. I had to acknowledge feeling passing strange being in a cafe for the first time in a long while, but I managed to check their menu and order a small Americano to go before taking a seat at the end table closest to the door. Why not sit and relax for a few before returning to my wheels? It wasn't crowded around noon, and the folks seemed like they were settled in for a while. Some working; most chatting. I sipped the strong steaming hot joe. Yep! Definitely strong enough to remove the wearies and retune me up for my afternoon agenda. Still, couldn't help feeling a little out of place. Just spending money for commercial coffee, once so commonplace; but now so strangely wasteful put me in touch with how transitory some habits are. I love coming to the coffee shop for the aesthetics, the vibe of the coffee shop and the food - for lunch with clients, friends or even a quick break. The food is great. But the coffee is usually luke warm - I'd like my coffee hot - if I ordered hot. Iced coffee is very watery. The staff here very sweet and you'd feel welcome here. The food is served quick and will bring you back. I just wish the coffee can get better. read more

The atmosphere is wonderful, and the workers are friendly and accommodating. What I ordered required the oven and they said the oven was out of order, so she quickly suggested something else. It was actually a little more expensive, but they didn't charge me the extra. The coffee was good a little on the cold side so they gave me a new one. I'm sure they're trying to get the kinks out but the place is adorable and they have many different coffees and they offer many great options for breakfast/brunch. I'm sure they just need a little more time to get all the kinks out. I will definitely go back and highly recommend it. read more

Got a dark roast caramel iced latte. Very smooth and easy to drink. Pretty simple and not very sweet. Sophia was very informative, this was my first time here and she advised I go with the dark roast blend as it isn't as acidic. Plenty of areas to hang out and sit or do work. Wonderfully comfortable ambiance. A good place to visit, if you want to shave a few hours off the day and just relax. The coffee is above other places around the area, especially its special single-origin beans; I would highly recommend a taste, if your only experience with coffee is the typical "burnt and bitter" flavor that most American coffee is known for. Service is fairly quick, as well and welcoming. I only wish that it stayed open an hour longer or opened an hour earlier, but it is what it is. read more

Lots of seating and sunlight in the front. We ordered two coffees to stay, as we had about twenty minutes to kill. We should have ordered them to go as it took ten minutes to receive. Service was nice, just so slow even though it didn't seem that busy. The coffee was good, a little too much foam on the latte. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and a great selection of drinks and food. Lyberry Coffee opened its doors in Cranbury last month and its a great addition to the town. The atmosphere inside is welcoming with sofas, high top tables and regular tables. The servers and staff seem happy to be there and greeted the customers accordingly. I look forward to going back and trying some their food items as well as coffee. On this particular visit, I tried the Ghirardelli Smores Hot Chocolate. It was a beautifully presented drink, that caught my idea as others customers were sipping on it. However, it's just not for me. read more

This was delicious! I got the avocado toast and it was sooo good. My friend got a mocha latte and a Caesar salad and my husband got a panini. Everything was great! Don't go here expecting a cozy book store/library feel, it's a very sanitized millennial burger joint type. In fact, despite the name being a play on Library, I clocked maybe two real books in the building and a hilarious, giant AI picture of a bookshelf wrapping the wall. The coffee is very expensive for what it is, it's not necessarily bad, it's just painfully average. Service was good as well, no knock on the employees. I think first place to start improving here would be a real bookshelf. read more

This new coffee shop recently opened up and it's definitely going to be a regular spot for me! The vibes are so cute inside, and there is a great selection to choose from. There is plenty of seating and different types - sofas, tables with chairs, booth/bench seats, and even high stools. They have wifi and tables so this is a great spot to get some work done while having a nice treat or chatting with friends. So many books to fill up the place and great artwork and bold colors! I love it. There are little chandeliers with lights on them that add such a nice, cozy, and elevated touch. The layout is well thought out and designed for many people to enjoy. Going into the menu, I got an iced chai latte and it was delicious, tasted just the way I like it, and no flavor was missing with almond milk. It had the perfect amount of spices and I was thoroughly impressed. The hot dirty chai was also great. They also have a variety of teas, coffees, wraps, salads, and toasts, which I will be checking out next time I come! They even had a "frullati" which is an Italian gelato smoothie -- I was super intrigued. Of course I had to check out all their pastries on display! The employee told me that they are all delivered from a Brooklyn bakery every morning, so I couldn't resist a yummy pastry. They also had quiches which I definitely want to try next time (the mushroom and broccoli cheddar really stood out to me!!) After lots of debate, we ended up satisfying our sweet tooth with the Nutella Kouign-amann, which was like a cruffin with Nutella and so delicious, flaky, buttery, cinnamony, and sweet!! So tasty and I wish I got a few more items to go to try later. Just gives me a reason to go back!! This is already a new local favorite of mine, can't wait to return! read more

Very cute cafe! Definitely want to come back to try the food or pastry in the future. This review is for a quick run in for a latte. Appreciate that the drink was made exactly as expected. It was not too sweet, which we prefer and light ice actually came out with light ice. Would highly recommend to make a stop. Love supporting the small businesses in this area of town. The barista took time to explain the different coffee options. It also looks like a nice spot for studying, which was nice because it was nicely lit and lots of open space. read more

The lock to their bathroom was broken and didn't lock. Someone walked in on me and when I informed the staff the lock was broken, they said they already knew. There was no sign indicating a broken lock, nor did the staff put a sign up when I said it was messed up there was no notice. read more

I came here with a large group for a wine tasting event they had, and was also open to other customers. Ordered my food and everyone else at the table received their order. They kept telling me mine was being worked on (avocado toast). 15 minutes later still nothing. Lied to again about my order from the owners - I told them to forget about it. They brought it out another 15 minutes later. Clearly they forgot my order. Just say that instead of telling me lies. Did not make sense- will not go back and haven't since this experience. It's unfortunate because this could be a great local place to go but I can't support that odd behavior. read more

Lyberry Coffee is a recently opened business in a new shopping complex just a few minutes away from the main core of Historic Cranbury. I always like trying out a new local coffee spot and go in with low expectations, but wasn't impressed here. The interiors are interesting with artwork on display, and walls with painted bookshelves. Having been to a nice cafe recently with actual books, the effect was a bit lost on me with that choice of decor, but interiors are otherwise modern and decent for a coffee place. They have a menu of Italian coffee/expresso drink products, a few bakery items, and a limited food menu of breakfast/brunch type items. We went for a quick drink and pastry experience, so got a large drip coffee, a large latte with mocha shot, and an almond croissant. Both the coffee and the latte (2.5/5) were very average with regards to quality and taste. The latte was presented nicely, but you can get much better at nearby places at lesser cost. Prices add up as it's an additional cost for any flavor/shot, which other places generally have built into drink prices. For a "large" drink size, the quantity served in the mug was small compared to other coffee places (probably more like a medium). The service was a bit odd, as the person bringing drinks out to tables simply pointed us to the self service counter when we asked for napkins and milk for the coffee (not sure why they ask for gratuity when purchasing if you are expected to get things yourself). The almond croissant (1.5/5) looked great, but was very dry and underwhelming. Quite honestly, it had the taste and texture of 1-2 day old pastry, as it didn't taste fresh and left a mess of crumbs (a fresh pastry is airy and flaky, but doesn't leave that kind of mess). It had some flavor accents of almond, but the overall poor quality of it made for an unpleasant pastry experience. As others have noted, the place is pricey, which you don't mind as much if the quality is high, but for a questionable 1-2 day-old pastry and underwhelming caffeinated drinks, not a place that I'd recommend to others. Others seemed to be enjoying their food experience, so maybe they're more suited for breakfast/brunch, but Lyberry Coffee isn't a place I'd be inclined to visit again anytime soon based on my first impressions. read more

Terrible hours. I went in the morning and they were not open yet. I went after I got off work at 4:00 PM and they were closed already. The atmosphere seems pleasant but the hours for a coffee shop are just lousy. I cannot imagine this place will last. read more

Visiting from NYC and decided to stop in for some coffee and treats for the kids. Ordered a couple of iced mochas, iced chai lattes, iced matcha lattes, and an iced coffee (spent over $60). First off the pricing was very high even compared to Manhattan pricing! Was also shocked when we got charged an extra dollar for adding whip cream to an already almost $7 iced latte. I have NEVER been up charged for that and the amount of whip cream was dismal. Secondly the drinks were mid to downright bad- the iced coffee was so watered down (essentially they just dumped regular hot coffee on ice which was so disappointing). The iced drinks were essentially all ice ... literally I was done in three sips and the ice was to the top of the tall glass. You would think when charging $7 for a drink they would be a bit more generous. Lastly and shockingly when the worker brought the rest of our order to the table we mentioned that the matcha lattes had no sweetener. She mentioned that we didn't request any and that sweetener would be an extra $1 a cup?! On what planet do you charge to sweeten a latte? Very very disappointing and was sure to tell our host about our experience so that they could avoid being nickled and dimed at this establishment. read more

Yes, the espresso-based coffees are on the expensive side, but they know their coffee, are clear about the size, how many shots, the different types of beans, and most importantly the barista does it well. Went in today for a coffee and I was not pleased. The coffee was very bitter and watery. Honestly, it tasted like it was made with old coffee grinds. I also got one of the mini mushroom quiches and the texture was dry and rubbery. The service wasn't great, I felt rushed to order and the iced beverage choices were lacking. It's a shame because the shop itself seemed really cute and the atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately that didn't make up for the expensive prices and bad food/coffee. read more
