I got the inspection done today and the experience was great. Jay, one of the owners, welcomed me to the shop, very friendly. I sat in the waiting area after they started the inspection. There was another customer there and we started chatting. He couldn't praise the guys there enough. This other customer and I started lamenting how a lot of businesses don't provide the same customer experience we were use to from when we were younger (yes, bunch of old guys lamenting the world is going to...) and he said J&J is one of the exceptions. Jay showed me some additional concerns on my car...brake and tire wear. He showed me the problem areas and said I have some time left but these expenses are coming down the pike. It was refreshing to see this sales approach...I was aware he was upselling the other services they offer and I was totally happy with that...that's what all businesses must do. It was the approach, education, and showing me why the repairs would be needed that convinced me that when I need the work to be done, I will go to Jay and his team. Well done guys and keep it up! PS: they have the cutest wall of kids pictures that puts a smile on your face.

They charged 1 hour labor to change air and cabin filter (which jiffy lube changes in 3 minutes - literally). They charged a $70 waste-disposal fee so that $119 oil change apparently was $199. They charged for an hour of labor for a "200k checkup" which when pressed entailed "checking brakes and fluid levels". Another scam because the fluid levels were supposed to be part of the oil change - again, Jiffy Lube includes it. Total sham place that sells itself as a 'down home good ole earnest mechanics shop', but in the end it was exactly the sort of place to avoid. Watch out.

Was shouted at over the phone when I called to ask for an update on the car I had dropped off. Was told he wouldn't work on it and to have it towed away to another shop citing that there were "too many cars in line" "people are always calling and interrupting me while I'm working". When picking up the car I tried to explain that I was only calling because of the timeline they gave me and the owner shouted at me threatened to fight me in the office?! Honestly, it seemed like he was having a nervous breakdown, so yeah, wouldn't recommend. Pretty insane way to treat customers.

I took it to Sharp Transmissions because of the reviews and its a transmission shop. I work on my truck as much as I possibly can but dealing with repairing a transmission is out of my wheel house. I dropped off the truck in the morning and I got a call about 2 hours later. Milt told itme he had inspected the car test drove and it was not the tranny it was the power steering pump that had a small not noticeable leak but the fluid resevoir was almost dry and that was the noise I was hearing coming from the truck. He added power sterring fluid and solved the problem but let me know it something that will need attention down the road. I thanked him I picked up my truck later that evening. Drove the truck home ran like a charm. I will certainly take it to him again when I need work done. I appreciated his honesty he could have told me I needed a new transmission instead I got a honest and fair evaluation and fix. Thanks Milt glad to see that there are still good folk out there. Oh, the joy of owning an old Jeep (now a quarter century old). Sprung a big transmission fluid…read moreleak when down in New Jersey on New Years Day. The AAA tow truck operator asked me where I wanted it to be towed, and I immediately said "Sharp Transmission." The dropped it off and put the key in the after hours slot. Next day,I called Milt and said, take a look and give me my options. No rush, I said, since I have other cars I can drive. Milt and his crew found some time to not only diagnose the problem (two rubbng hoses put a hole in one), but to repair the problem. Same day! I picked the car up this morning and it is working perfectly. Like I said before, if you are not taking your car to Sharp, you should start doing so. Great service, excellent communication, attention to detail... Highly recommended.

I accidentally ended up in the "private driveway/junk yard" behind this business when I was…read morevisiting Sharon on vacation looking for a local restaurant. Google maps led me to the wrong driveway and once I entered the business yard area I had to turn around. There were many junk cars and trucks parked around and it was not easy to turn back. After I finally was able to turn my rental car around I discovered I had been parked in by a truck blocking the only narrow lane between the many cars. I didn't see anyone and neither did my teenage daughter who was with me in the car. I tooted my horn - and I mean tooted, not honked - 3 short toots to see if I could attract someone to help me get out of the lot. I attracted someone all right! Several very hostile men who yelled at me. The worst of them told me I was just going to have to wait since I have come onto private properly uninvited. I told him it was an accident due to google maps and he flat out told me it was not an accident at all. I suddenly realized this guy apparently thought I wanted to steal some rusty old hub caps or something in this junky car yard. He apparently planned to enjoy being the all powerful man and was demanding I just sit there while he unloaded a bunch of tires (and I mean a big bunch of them that were heaped in his truck bed). He only needed to move the truck about 4 feet for me to leave, and the whole vibe was immediately ugly and negative. When I suddenly realized he was being racist, and possibly misogynist too, I told him he wouldn't talk to a white woman the same way he was to me. Then he got out of his truck and walked up to my car threateningly. By then I was so mad I said to go ahead and keep coming and he would see who the police would arrest if he attacked me, and it wouldn't be me. The guy was nuts! I let him make me a bit nuts for a short time - something I regret in a way, but I'm done with being walked over and put down. All the other men around (at least 4) were clearly backing this guy up too. I'd have regretted things getting worse as it could have ended up involving my daughter, who is in her late teens, but I also don't ever want her to just let people treat her like dirt. This guy was a nutter. The man I believe was the business owner finally told him to get back in his truck when it dawned on him the man was really likely to attack me! Up to that point this guy in charge was busy bad mouthing me for having honked my horn and clearly did not accept that we didn't see anybody, even though I told him that, and all of them had come out from some unknown places after I tooted to see what was happening. The tire guy came out from some room and the others were apparently somewhere inside the garage area out of sight. The whole thing was ugly and all of them clearly wanted me to shut up and remained trapped there until they felt good and ready to let me out of the driveway. I strongly recommend anyone with brown skin avoid this place, and frankly I sure hope everyone avoids doing business with them and supporting racists!

if you are going to have them repair something, buy the part yourself. Will up charge parts…read moresubstantially then when they start having issues less then 2 years down the line say warranty is expired. I could buy from fcp euro with a lifetime warranty on the part for less then the aftermarket they bought for my car with which only has a 1 year warranty.
