Located right next to the I-10 off-ramp on exit 43, this small park is pretty easy to spot. From…read morethe interstate, you have to make a hard right turn into the Shell station parking lot. Stay to right and you'll see the gate and park office. Check-in was easy. They take Good Sam but even with the discount, we still paid $46 for our overnight site. According to their price list (which you get at check-in) we should've only paid $40.45 plus tax so I'm guessing the rest of it was exorbitant tax. If you need a key card to go in and out of the gate, you pay a little extra. Sites in the middle are pull-thru, the perimeter has back-ins. The park has mostly longterm and permanent residents but it doesn't have a trailer park feel. Everyone kept their sites neat with minimum "stuff" sitting outside. The transient sites are in the first row of pull-thrus and they were full the night we were there. If your rig has good sound insulation, then the 24/7 traffic noise won't bother you much. Internal roads and sites are all paved with grass between sites. Sites are level with hookups in the middle. They have a dog wash station which is outside next to the exit gate. There's no dog park, no pool, no playground (so not really family friendly). Wifi and cable worked fine. The park seems well-managed. There's a laundry room that's also open to the public but the park itself is gated. You can walk to several places around there to eat. It's right behind a McDonald's and a convenience store. Good for an overnight stop.

Everything you'd find in a cowboy fever dream rolled into one building: A casino, a bar, a hotel, a truck stop, AND a convenience store -- all smushed together like somebody built it with scrap lumber and bad impulses. You walk in for a snack and next thing you know you're sittin' at a penny slot, holdin' a beer you don't remember ordering, wonderin' where your gas money went. And then... the bathroom. Cowboy, I walked into that stall and froze like I saw a rattlesnake wearin' boots. Right there in the wall was a random hole, just starin' at me. Not patched. Not explained. Not small enough to ignore. Just sittin' there like part of the experience. I didn't know whether to: * report it, * inspect it, * or get the hell out before someone on the other side blinked at me. Five stars for chaos. Five stars for entertainment. Five stars because any place bold enough to name itself Lucky Longhorn without a single livestock in sight deserves respect. Although I was authorized to stay for 2 nights, I only stayed for 1 night, as I had to get back to New Orleans to take care of some "family stuff". I arrived several hours before normal check in time and decided to stop at the hotel before I went to my first meeting. I was courteously greeted by Tenesha who asked if she could help me with anything. I told her I was kindly asking for an early check in so as to get rid of my luggage prior to my meeting. She checked and apologized that there was nothing yet available but offered to hold my luggage for me. As I was walking out to go to my meeting, she advised that a room just became available, and I was able to unload my luggage and check in. (SCORE!) The room was in pretty good shape. Perhaps a little worn; it could have used a fresh coat of paint and a new lightbulb for the desk, but everything else was just fine. The room was very clean upon arrival and the bed was actually very comfortable. It was nice to see that the electrical outlets were not worn out or loose yet and the water pressure was actually quite good. After my day of meetings, I went back to the hotel and chilled out a while before heading out to dinner. Upon my return, I was greeted by Tenesha again. I settled in and started a video chat with my son to help with his homework. We were working on math and I was having trouble looking at the problems via my phone. My wife forwarded me screenshots of the math problems but I was unable to print them using my work laptop. I went back to the front desk and was courteously greeted by Ms. Jupiter. She let me forward her my emailed pics and she printed them so that I cold help my son with his homework. (SCORE AGAIN!) What an over the top nice gesture this was, and I wanted to recognize her (& Tenesha) for the EXCELLENT customer service they provided. Lastly, the complimentary breakfast was actually quite good. This was a $15.00 - $20.00 savings had I chosen to go out to eat breakfast at a local "diner". All in all, I had a very nice stay and had an excellent experience.

Its in a good location, a quick walk across the street will get some dining (mostly fast food) and shopping at target. More dining is a less than a 3 minute drive across the loop and even more a couple of exits down the loop. Place has always been clean and the area is safe from what i can tell although make sure you remove valuables as with everywhere it be homeless taking advantage of people slipping
