We always come with a group of friends and all agree that the dealers here are terrible. Attitude zero, skills zero. Latasha, Tatanya...as prime example. Zero attitude. This place is dead. And will never have quality players here. I gamble at L'auberge or Coushatta. Players all feels the same way. Maybe graveyard shift dealers only but nonetheless it's just bad juju when you see dealers with attitude like they don't wanna deal but rather sit on empty tables and collect. Maybe Horseshoe should consider dealers to keep their individual tips. That will help see which ones are bad. It took me at least 4 trips here to write this review. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Horseshoe. It was certainly much quieter than nearby casinos but I was also there on a Monday evening/Tuesday morning so that may have made a difference. The room: check in was incredibly easy and they have a kiosk for self-service. The room itself was clean, spacious, and had all the typical ammenties one would look for. I assume most people who stay at casino hotels don't aoend too much time in the room, but if one did want to do that then this is a great choice. The bed was nice and soft, pillows fluffy, and the bathroom was spacious. The gym was a typical hotel gym. There was an elliptical, bike, treadmill, and a bench with weights. I only used the treadmill, which seemed a bit old but did its job just fine. Downstairs you will find a Dunkin and pizza place. The Dunkin was perfect for a quick breakfast. The egg bites came out piping hot and were delicious. The latte was standard. The customer service was great. The pizza place is meh. Thick crust, thick layer if cheese, not many toppings. I would skip this next time. The casino itself was quiet but it was a lot of fun. I found a blackjack table and the dealer was super nice and taught me the rules. I had a great time. read more

We ended up staying here as there was an 5x tier credit multiplier event. This casino inside is really nice and layout is good. The place was not busy that night compared to the other casino I went to. Unfortunately the selection of machines are all volatile and the high limit room is for the high rollers and not much selection to choose from. I ended up losing quite a bit of money here as I did have 2 good wins, but the rest were like did not make up for the other bonuses. I found a couple of machines I can play on that I can last. This is probably the casino I should not chase the tier credits on as I did not last as long as I wanted to. Staying wise was great as we got a nice view of the lake. Overall, I had a really great time. Would definitely stay here again, but maybe not play here as much. read more

The common area of this hotel are very nice. Felt very bright and modern. The casino floor was nice with a pretty good amount of gaming options. Not a ton of food places, but enough to get the job done. Want steak, American, pizza, they got places to fill those cravings. Even a Dunkin Donuts for your coffee fix. Check in was easy and quick as well. The room itself, a different story. Booked a one king deluxe room. Unfortunately, we had some flight delays which caused us to check in way later than expected. They only had one room left they said and it had to queens. Not a deal breaker since we were only staying one night. The room was ok. Had some dusty areas that I wasn't too fond off. The bathroom was atrocious. Shower had mold and mildew all around every corner. Needs a good deep cleaning. Hope the other rooks aren't like this. Was definitely not a sight to see. The floor looked liked it wasn't swept prior to our arrival. Then the door had damage to it like someone locked the door from the outside and tried to pry it back open. Made me feel uneasy as a customer that they'd try to say we did and charge us for the damage. Luckily they didn't, but I think it's time to replace the door or repair the damage. Lots of potential here. If the rooms matched the cleanliness and modern feel of the downstairs area, this would be a more viable option. With the other competing hotel casino in the area, hopefully they fix these things so they can be more on par with them. read more

I called and inquired about joint rooms. This sweet young lady on the phone informed me that they do have joint rooms and that I could inquire about them once I checked in. Once I got here, after traveling from Tampa, Florida, you can imagine our family was tired. I get out and go to the front desk. A different young lady from who I spoke with before and informed me to go get a gambling card because it would lower my room rate. I did that and ended up having winter as the lady to help me get checked in. She was able to get me the joint room and check in with seamlessly. She informed me room service comes every three days and that if we needed anything before then to kindly let the front desk know. Since we are only staying the night, I felt like that did not apply to us. Upon arrival to our room, my room door was open, which was weird to me, but the room was cleaned. After traveling for almost 12 hours, my boys wanted to get in the pool so we went out to the pool, not realizing it is for 21 and up. We were out there for a good hour and a half, and even other kids joined them in the pool during that time. A gentleman doing his job came out to let us know that there is a age requirement, which is understandable, but if this is a kid, friendly hotel, what is there for the kids to do if they cannot swim in the pool? I feel like that is very unfair and if kids are not allowed to swim and go in the casino, they should not be considered a kid friendly hotel. Three stars for that. I will not be back here with my family, but if my husband and I decide to take a trip by ourselves, I would most definitely come back. Other adults were outside and one of them agreed with our logic about the kids, not being allowed in the pool. They were not bothered at all by the kids and felt that it was very unfair and expressed that they would be writing reviews about this as well. Maybe management can consider changing it, especially if kids are allowed here. Other than that, there will be absolutely nothing for the kids to do except for stay in the room, which is boring. read more

9/10/2025: I hate to say this, but it is a sad little casino. I had not visited since it was redone. It used to be Isle of Capri (Isle of Debris as a funny). We went to eat at Gordon Ramsay Steak and decided to pull a couple slots on our way out. I lost $80 in a matter of 10 minutes. That's not what makes it sad. That's what makes it a casino, so no issues there. It's just sad because no one was there (on a Wednesday night), they don't have the regular fun slots, and it seemed to reek of sadness and despair. I just got that feeling, so maybe it was just me. We Ubered there from L'Auberge, so obviously we had to Uber back. It was 10:30 pm and it took two Uber, tries finally obtaining one. Then it took that one Uber 33 minutes to get to us. That was no fun. Not the casino's fault at all. Just letting everyone know what to expect if you choose to bounce between the two casinos. read more

This casino hotel has the potential for 5 stars but due to maintenance, upkeep, and lack of deep cleaning I had to give it 3. We arrived late due to delayed flights but it was refreshing to pull up to a newer looking, nicely lit casino entrance. Everything from the entrance, to the casino, to the restaurants, to the rooms are new, modern and shiny, an aesthetic I love. The rooms are very spacious and well laid out with beds, desk, a spacious bathroom with a toilet room, walk-in shower with a seat, and a seating area, allowing room to spread out and even eat somewhere other than the beds. A few things for improvement... the room we booked (king) was no longer available and ended up with 2 queens. Not sure how a room that you reserved is no longer available.... Also the upkeep was lacking which will lead to quicker wear even in a newer establishment. There were scuffs all over our room wall that could be fixed with a quick magic eraser. There was quite a bit of different types of MOLD in the corner of our shower, think both reddish brown in grout and black on the glass which shows they are not deep cleaning the corners well enough (see pic). I agree grout can be harder to clean, but the caked black mold could definitely be removed even with a light scrub. There was also quite a bit of random particles behind our toilet door...again purposeful cleaning of corners needed vs quick cleaning!!! Also random thing I noticed (not deal breaker).... There were no medium sized hand towels except the one meant as a shower mat, and none of the patterns matched on our larger towels (yes I'm being picky here so didn't take stars away for towels). With a bit of elbow grease, these hotel rooms would be close to perfect! Hopefully this feedback gets to housekeeping! read more

Stayed here last night and it served its purpose as a stop on our trip East. The casino was fun and clean. The room was clean but humid. Brew brothers restaurant for dinner was so so. I ordered the fried catfish and I think the oil was too hot because the fish was over fried. Hubby ordered nachos and that looked good when it arrived but turned into a hot mess. All the personnel were very accommodating and sweet in the hotel. I do wish they had hand towels in the room though. We stayed on the second floor with no view, which was okay but looks like the employees use the outside secret space to grab a smoke. That's fine too but pick up your damn trash! *see photo*. The casino is on the smaller side in comparison to other casinos that are in the area, but it has a lot of character. There are several restaurants as well as bars throughout the facility. I needed a place to stop for the night on a drive and was pleased to see this as an option. I think a lot of the poor reviews are gamblers with very specific expectations for the casino. I just stayed the night and had dinner, and it was great! Parking and check in were easy. I forgot the name of the clerk at the desk but we chatted a bit and he gave me a tip about a nice firepit area overlooking the lake. My room was great! Very spacious and clean with modern decor. Bathroom was updated and again, spacious. There are a few restaurants including a Gordon Ramsey steak. The lobby and restaurant areas were nice. One thing that seemed lacking was a place to grab breakfast other than Dunkin Donuts. There was also a small but clean gym and a sundries/snack shop. read more

Shower drain was clogged. Front desk seemed to not care at all and said it would be fixed whenever their 1 maintenance worker could get to it. The woman at the front desk lied and said they were all booked up when asked if we could switch rooms and said people were still checking it even though it was 11:20pm at nite. Very rude staff. I stayed at Horseshoe Lake Charles from March 22-26 and had a very concerning experience. The room had multiple issues, including a missing door security latch and a bathroom that appeared poorly maintained, with possible mold and visible buildup. There was also a persistent sewage-like odor during my stay. I reached out to the hotel directly with documentation (photos/video) but did not receive a response, which is even more disappointing than the issues themselves. I would appreciate someone from management or corporate reaching out to address this. read more

09.21.25 - was invited to the italian fest. breads were stale and hard, olive oil dip was just plain olive oil, not seasoned like served at italian restaurants, the salad was ok, chicken alfredo was cold and had no chicken in it, the sausage was also cold, and the tiramisu was obvisouly store bought, and was served frozen, not authentic italian, for there was no alcohol in the tiramisu, and the cannoli wasnt even ricotti cheese, it was something else mixed with chocolate chips and pistachio on the outside. you would think that since gordan ramsey has a restaurant here, that they would at least make these dishes authentic, and not store buy anything. read more

They should have just created a new listing instead of merging the old reviews of the isle of capri. So this review/update is for the new horseshoe that has been renovated to replace what was the old casino. It's parents company is Caesar's so they are spending money. The rooms are nice and it actually has a good view of the lake and bridge. The main gambling area is vast and spread out. They do need to up their slots selection as there was only a few of the ones with the bonus games. As far as the table games they only had a few open as I guess they are still very vacant. On a holiday weekend it was very empty. I hope traffic picks up as it's a nice hotel and option for the lake Charles area. read more

I've been coming to this Casino since it opened. Everytime i reserve a balcony room i got one. The pass 3 times its been an issue. I actually was giving 3 keys to 3 rooms no balcony. I had to go back to the lobby and somehow an accessible balcony became available. I'm here now and I'm told no balconies available. If I reserve a balcony it shouldn't be first come first serve, that's ridiculous. I have never had an issue and I've visited this casino plenty times. I would like to report the worst experience in my life today visiting this property/ not only did a employee lie on me but a no point did mgmt ask for my side of the offer me chance to explain or go investigate by looking at the recordings - Today I was gambling at the property I had already been there and started losing my money/ never did I direct my hostility at the employee I used general profanity to convey I was upset - now I have no clue why a person I am not interacting with would assume I am talking to her Dealer Rocio for roulette - but never tell me she is offended giving me the opportunity to apologize and correct her misunderstanding. I feel this was mishandled by Mgmt Tammy and gang asking me leave property for 24 hrs. We stayed here twice in December on Monday and Tuesday nights. We were a little disappointed that Gordon Ramseys restaurant wasn't open either night. And wish there were more restaurant choices especially for breakfast. We like to play the table game "I Love Suits" ( High card Flush) but they never opened the table either night on our first trip because they were short handed on dealers. Really like this place but also feel bad for the business because it is never busy. I arrived Sunday night and was here for almost a week. For poker to be running only one day is sad. You can see from the picture that the room was not fully cleaned can do better from housekeeping. They also didnt clean the room well and there was a nail on the carpet that I stepped on. This is unacceptable. Could have been way worse but it did poke my skin. First off, it's kind of unfortunate the Isle reviews have carried over and Horshoe can't start off fresh but oh well what can ya do. I had hopes for this place and was excited to check it out. Most Caeser properties have flair and some kind of pizazz factor but this place just ain't it. The parking garage was clearly not renovated and is in desperate need of a face-lift. It's a little off-putting to go to a "new" property and be welcomed by an old parking structure. Once entering the casino, the first and constant thing I noticed was the amount of light. It is extremely bright with an uncountable amount of fancy chandeliers. It is a bit refreshing after being in the dungeon lighting of the other casinos nearby. The casino floor is pretty small. It won't take long to do a lap and to my disappointment...it is only one floor. Speaking of floor, this place is only weeks old and had TONs of lent and fur balls for lack of a better description all over. Definitely in need of a good vacuuming. Restaurant options are limited. I visited 7 seven noodles bar. This is an outlet I would expect more fitting for an airport or train station. Overpriced for no reason and not satisfying. Table minimums and slots are what I expected for a casino that opened in 2022. Most slots these days are animated with a bunch of color and noise with a pretty hefty max bet. Lowest table minimum I saw was $15 and that was on a Monday mid-day. I would return if I was in the area with nothing to do but I wouldn't go out of my way. My lake view was mainly a concrete pillar instead of The Lake and bridge...no other rooms available on a Monday night??Somewhat annoying but I wasn't going to the trouble of switching rooms etc. The casino could improve by opening more blackjack tables. There was only two open. One was $15 min 6to5 and the other was $50 min 3to2. Only later in the evening did they add one more 6to5 for a total of 3. The slots were AWFUL. The worst I've ever experienced over many years of playing. If you go here avoid the slots. I guess they are still financing their semi-new venue.. haha, Anyway, very disappointing. This review would be one star but for the friendly staff. I'll be driving the extra mileage on my next visit to Louisiana. read more

This hotel and casino is still new. 2 years old. The hotel is really nice. The casino is OK. Sports book area not really that appeasing to the eye but the casino is good. Not too many people winning anything. Plenty of parking. The food at Brew Brothers is delicious. Tommy and Flexx are the best at this restaurant. Very accommodating. They are a keeper at any cost. We ate breakfast which was delicious, lunch I had catfish. It was seasoned very good. We had Jambalaya it was also delicious. Will definitely be back to this hotel and casino. was completely disappointed this Thanksgiving week. I booked a room with one bed for two nights, but when I arrived they gave me a room with two beds because they said they were full. I tried three times to get them to change it, and they never did. To make matters worse, the room stank of feet, and the reception staff were never able to help me, even though I had made a reservation in advance. The service at this hotel was terrible. Booked this hotel for our springbreak vacation. Didn't know until we checked in that my 15 yr old son could not go to the pool, gym, or even a few restaurants. Yet we had to pay a resort fee and not even able to use the main facilities you pay those fees for. The only places we could take him to eat were the pizza spot because it was outside the casino along with the very expensive Gordon Ramsey restaurant. Had we known this, we would have booked a different hotel that was child friendly. Very disappointed and we checked out early due to this. Also the slots are very tight. Plan to lose money if you stay here. We did enjoy the outside area by the water, since that was pretty much the only thing we could all do together. read more

We didn't get to stay at this casino as our accommodations were with a another resort. We have been coming here for a few years and we have noticed the decline. We are from Nevada so we have plenty of experience with casinos, this casino has turned out to be JUST ABOUT THE HOUSE. The machines have been tightened up so much people are walking away from it. The rooms the last 2 visits have smelled and the cleaning not up to decent standards so we will not return. We are going to start going to other Lake Charles casinos, Horseshoe is just not worth it anymore. I feel bad for the employees that wont have a job if this Ceasars location does not change things. In addition, we have never had a problem with checking into a reserved room with out 3 free nights until last time when we arrived after driving 3 hours and the gentleman at the desk told us we did not have the room we reserved because the "rooms are first come first serve" for free rooms. If that is the case definitely we will not drive 3 hours again for a reserved room that may not be available when we get there, what kind of policy is that ? It's a shame that Horseshoe had to piggyback off the Yelp page for Isle of Capri and not start fresh. I had some time to kill, so a friend and I came to check out the newest spot in Lake Charles. It is no longer the dingy old river boat, but an actual casino on land. What they did was renovate the hotel and build a new casino on land. The biggest draw for me is that this is now a Caesar's property. This is a big deal to me because I frequent Vegas often and try and spend my money with one company for the rewards. Now I can earn closer to home and reap the benefits in Vegas. Pulling up, you can either park in the old garage or find a spot outside. Walking in, first impression was it did have a pretty noticeable smoke smell. I figured a new spot would have better ventilation. The neighboring casinos always smell nice. The casino itself is not very big but pretty comparable to it's neighbors as well. I play table games and there's not a whole lot, but I had no problem finding spots right away. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There is a high stakes area if you're a big baller. They do a have a sports book and plenty of machines if that's you're thing. I noticed a few eateries and a bar as well. Overall, this is a welcome addition to the area. It's new, but not as pretentious or uppity like the other places across the lake. I see myself coming here when in the area specifically for the rewards. I'm also looking forward to check out the hotel and pool in the near future! read more

I stayed there with my Dad last weekend for two nights. When we first walked in, I was slapped by the smell of 10000 cigarettes. We went to two other casinos locally and they didnt have the same issues. Amenities and shopping aren't as good as laberge or the nugget but it's 1/3-1/2 the price so makes sense. This location misrepresents the Horseshoe brand. I understand they took over from Isle of Capri years ago, but this place is disorganized. The hotel registration is on the other side of the parking garage. The casino introduced games that take even more money such as 000 roulette. The area just feels of a chemical and industrial zone. This is one if my least favorite locations of the Harrah's brand and very likely my least liked Horseshoe. You are better on the other side of the river. read more

Do not come here with children. The only thing they can eat is a burnt chicken nuggets and pizza at the pizza station/booth or a $200 steak at Gordon Ramsay's . The other two restaurants are in the casino and they will not let children access them. The two restaurants that are in the casino are very small, only 10 , 2 person tables in 7 Noode anyway. The Brewery Hamburger place a little bigger but all very sterile and cheap looking. No ambiance what so ever but us not being able to have dinner with our 15 year old unless we went to Gordon Ramsay's was a deal breaker for us. We will not return. read more

The worst! Machines don't pay enough to even keep you playing. Service is almost nonexistent

We were not allowed to check in to our desired room until after 6 p.m. the room was beautiful, king suite with balcony and lake view, nice balcony easily fit two people, chairs and table. Some of the paint job was not the best but not a deal breaker. My main complaint was no housekeeping service, we stayed 4 days, had to chase down maids for towels and toilet paper. Staff was first class very friendly, always helpful. Casino was on the small side but still found plenty of games to play. read more
