We ended up staying here as there was an 5x tier credit multiplier event. This casino inside is really nice and layout is good. The place was not busy that night compared to the other casino I went to. Unfortunately the selection of machines are all volatile and the high limit room is for the high rollers and not much selection to choose from. I ended up losing quite a bit of money here as I did have 2 good wins, but the rest were like did not make up for the other bonuses. I found a couple of machines I can play on that I can last. This is probably the casino I should not chase the tier credits on as I did not last as long as I wanted to. Staying wise was great as we got a nice view of the lake. Overall, I had a really great time. Would definitely stay here again, but maybe not play here as much.

The common area of this hotel are very nice. Felt very bright and modern. The casino floor was nice with a pretty good amount of gaming options. Not a ton of food places, but enough to get the job done. Want steak, American, pizza, they got places to fill those cravings. Even a Dunkin Donuts for your coffee fix. Check in was easy and quick as well. The room itself, a different story. Booked a one king deluxe room. Unfortunately, we had some flight delays which caused us to check in way later than expected. They only had one room left they said and it had to queens. Not a deal breaker since we were only staying one night. The room was ok. Had some dusty areas that I wasn't too fond off. The bathroom was atrocious. Shower had mold and mildew all around every corner. Needs a good deep cleaning. Hope the other rooks aren't like this. Was definitely not a sight to see. The floor looked liked it wasn't swept prior to our arrival. Then the door had damage to it like someone locked the door from the outside and tried to pry it back open. Made me feel uneasy as a customer that they'd try to say we did and charge us for the damage. Luckily they didn't, but I think it's time to replace the door or repair the damage. Lots of potential here. If the rooms matched the cleanliness and modern feel of the downstairs area, this would be a more viable option. With the other competing hotel casino in the area, hopefully they fix these things so they can be more on par with them.

Blue, his stay was more expensive than ours but well worth it!

Very friendly staff and pet friendly (although expensive pet fee). Great restaurants and near to many things to go do and see. I really recommend you try the 7 noodle restaurant great pho.

9/10/2025: I hate to say this, but it is a sad little casino. I had not visited since it was redone. It used to be Isle of Capri (Isle of Debris as a funny). We went to eat at Gordon Ramsay Steak and decided to pull a couple slots on our way out. I lost $80 in a matter of 10 minutes. That's not what makes it sad. That's what makes it a casino, so no issues there. It's just sad because no one was there (on a Wednesday night), they don't have the regular fun slots, and it seemed to reek of sadness and despair. I just got that feeling, so maybe it was just me. We Ubered there from L'Auberge, so obviously we had to Uber back. It was 10:30 pm and it took two Uber, tries finally obtaining one. Then it took that one Uber 33 minutes to get to us. That was no fun. Not the casino's fault at all. Just letting everyone know what to expect if you choose to bounce between the two casinos.

This casino hotel has the potential for 5 stars but due to maintenance, upkeep, and lack of deep cleaning I had to give it 3. We arrived late due to delayed flights but it was refreshing to pull up to a newer looking, nicely lit casino entrance. Everything from the entrance, to the casino, to the restaurants, to the rooms are new, modern and shiny, an aesthetic I love. The rooms are very spacious and well laid out with beds, desk, a spacious bathroom with a toilet room, walk-in shower with a seat, and a seating area, allowing room to spread out and even eat somewhere other than the beds. A few things for improvement... the room we booked (king) was no longer available and ended up with 2 queens. Not sure how a room that you reserved is no longer available.... Also the upkeep was lacking which will lead to quicker wear even in a newer establishment. There were scuffs all over our room wall that could be fixed with a quick magic eraser. There was quite a bit of different types of MOLD in the corner of our shower, think both reddish brown in grout and black on the glass which shows they are not deep cleaning the corners well enough (see pic). I agree grout can be harder to clean, but the caked black mold could definitely be removed even with a light scrub. There was also quite a bit of random particles behind our toilet door...again purposeful cleaning of corners needed vs quick cleaning!!! Also random thing I noticed (not deal breaker).... There were no medium sized hand towels except the one meant as a shower mat, and none of the patterns matched on our larger towels (yes I'm being picky here so didn't take stars away for towels). With a bit of elbow grease, these hotel rooms would be close to perfect! Hopefully this feedback gets to housekeeping!

    Smoking and food trash. Seriously?

Stayed here last night and it served its purpose as a stop on our trip East. The casino was fun and clean. The room was clean but humid. Brew brothers restaurant for dinner was so so. I ordered the fried catfish and I think the oil was too hot because the fish was over fried. Hubby ordered nachos and that looked good when it arrived but turned into a hot mess. All the personnel were very accommodating and sweet in the hotel. I do wish they had hand towels in the room though. We stayed on the second floor with no view, which was okay but looks like the employees use the outside secret space to grab a smoke. That's fine too but pick up your damn trash! *see photo*. More butts than picture shows, a cigar and food trash

I needed a place to stop for the night on a drive and was pleased to see this as an option. I think a lot of the poor reviews are gamblers with very specific expectations for the casino. I just stayed the night and had dinner, and it was great! Parking and check in were easy. I forgot the name of the clerk at the desk but we chatted a bit and he gave me a tip about a nice firepit area overlooking the lake. My room was great! Very spacious and clean with modern decor. Bathroom was updated and again, spacious. There are a few restaurants including a Gordon Ramsey steak. The lobby and restaurant areas were nice. One thing that seemed lacking was a place to grab breakfast other than Dunkin Donuts. There was also a small but clean gym and a sundries/snack shop.

They should have just created a new listing instead of merging the old reviews of the isle of capri. So this review/update is for the new horseshoe that has been renovated to replace what was the old casino. It's parents company is Caesar's so they are spending money. The rooms are nice and it actually has a good view of the lake and bridge. The main gambling area is vast and spread out. They do need to up their slots selection as there was only a few of the ones with the bonus games. As far as the table games they only had a few open as I guess they are still very vacant. On a holiday weekend it was very empty. I hope traffic picks up as it's a nice hotel and option for the lake Charles area.

I was suppose to be using one night and couldn't

I didn't think we'd make it through before the pool closed. I was wrong, luckily. They have an adults only pool and spa, and an open pool, spa, and lazy river. They were all relatively well kept, though there were multiple bottle caps at the bottom that we kept stepping on. The ones that were there the night before were still there the morning after. The pool staff were really nice. They had already run out of towels at the counters, and the guy went to get us some freshly cleaned ones from the utility room. Much appreciated. The rooms were very nice. We stayed in the king suite, very well laid out. Only complaint is they had a steamer and not an iron. Doesn't work the same, but oh well. The decor was nice, the bed was comfortable, the AC was rocking. Really enjoyed the room. Whomever stayed there previously not only changed the time on the clock, but set an alarm at an ungodly hour. Well played. The casino is a bit smaller than Golden Nugget across the street. The lower ceilings give it a smaller, cozier feel. No luck on the slots here, but we did get into some blackjack. Under the tutelage of Justin T. I now have a new favorite card game. I had previously stayed away from the tables. By the time we checked in all the restaurants had closed, so we didn't get to try any of the food here. The wait staff in the casino were not very attentive and did not return with our drinks. When we found the guy later in the same spot that we ordered in, he said he had been back and that we had left even though we hadn't moved since we had been there. Always fun catching the BS. So well I can rate the lack of service, I can't rate the quality of the drinks because I didn't have one. Maybe next time. Parking here is easy, there's a huge lot outside. They also have garage parking, which I prefer. Have your car out of the elements. Overall really good stay, would definitely come again.

One star down, because they allow smoking in the building. Absolutely hate it. The evening trip was smoke everywhere. Interestingly, the next morning, there was very little scent of smoke remaining, so their AC puts in work. They were also replacing doors and equipment, and repairing areas to keep it in good condition. Half of the casino floor was closed off for some reason in the morning, likely remodeling or cleaning. I like a clean facility. They seemed to do a good job at cleaning as there weren't any glass cups or other trash hanging out. Security folks were nice, and very efficient. We weren't able to get on the black jack tables, too crowded the first night for the minimum we wanted to play at, or too few tables the next morning. So we hit some slots. Parking is easy. Garage and lots are available. Personally prefer the garage for the ease. We went to the Saltgrass restaurant on the premises, it had absolutely awful service. I won't take that out on the casino, it will get it's own review. Will definitely be back to the casino again. Always a good time, especially with the right people.

Although I was authorized to stay for 2 nights, I only stayed for 1 night, as I had to get back to New Orleans to take care of some "family stuff". I was courteously greeted by Tenesha who asked if she could help me with anything. I told her I was kindly asking for an early check in so as to get rid of my luggage prior to my meeting. She checked and apologized that there was nothing yet available but offered to hold my luggage for me. As I was walking out to go to my meeting, she advised that a room just became available, and I was able to unload my luggage and check in. (SCORE!) The room was in pretty good shape. Perhaps a little worn; it could have used a fresh coat of paint and a new lightbulb for the desk, but everything else was just fine. The room was very clean upon arrival and the bed was actually very comfortable. It was nice to see that the electrical outlets were not worn out or loose yet and the water pressure was actually quite good. After my day of meetings, I went back to the hotel and chilled out a while before heading out to dinner. Upon my return, I was greeted by Tenesha again. I settled in and started a video chat with my son to help with his homework. We were working on math and I was having trouble looking at the problems via my phone. My wife forwarded me screenshots of the math problems but I was unable to print them using my work laptop. I went back to the front desk and was courteously greeted by Ms. Jupiter. She let me forward her my emailed pics and she printed them so that I cold help my son with his homework. (SCORE AGAIN!) What an over the top nice gesture this was, and I wanted to recognize her (& Tenesha) for the EXCELLENT customer service they provided. Lastly, the complimentary breakfast was actually quite good. This was a $15.00 - $20.00 savings had I chosen to go out to eat breakfast at a local "diner". All in all, I had a very nice stay and had an excellent experience.

It's been a few years and I have to say, it's not the same Courtyard by Marriott it used to be. It's gone downhill... I'm not sure if COVID caused staff shortages resulting in the lowering of standards, but one thing is sure: their standards have gone down a lot. Upon entering our room, we immediately noticed that the bedsheets weren't tucked in all the way, sheets hanging on the sides, put together in a rush, a job half finished - kinda like how I would lazily make a bed at home, definitely not the professional standard. Walls, doors and surfaces are stained or scraped in many places, as if this were an old hotel in dire need of renovations. Except this hotel isn't even that old... The couch has mysterious white stains all over it - is it paint? Something else? Do I even want to know?? The chair has a large brown stain on it too. And the towels... Well one of the "clean" towels came with a big yellow spot on it - the photo doesn't do it justice, it's actually bright yellow. I'm pretty sure it's pee. I mean, what else could it be?? The lady at the front desk seemed tired and was a bit sharp. You could tell she was likely not having a good day, and seeing how poorly this hotel is maintained, I can only imagine the challenges staff are left to deal with. Management dropped the ball big time with this hotel. This isn't worth to be called a Marriott anymore. And because of its dramatically lowered standards of cleanliness, this hotel does not deserve its stars. I'm giving this hotel 2 stars only because the front staff look like they deserve a break. Will not be staying here again in the future unless Marriott gets their stuff together.
