Looking back, I realized it's been a while since I've reviewed this place, and honestly I think…read moreiPic deserves its flowers. Every time we've visited, it's been a great experience. Now, full disclosure: I'm not a huge theatre person. I'd much rather be curled up on my couch than paying to periodically shush strangers. But iPic makes leaving my house worth it. The oversized recliners, cozy blankets, in-seat service, and a good movie? That's a solid date night. Now onto the important part. My biggest tip is to arrive 30 minutes before showtime so you're not trying to read the menu by flashlight once the previews start. Since we caught an afternoon showing, I wanted something a little lighter and ordered the Harvest Bowl, while hubby went with the bison burger and sweet potato fries. I treated myself to one Old Fashioned, and he kept it simple with a beer. Everything arrived before the movie started, which I always appreciate. Just be warned... once those lights go down, you're pretty much on your own trying to guide food from plate to mouth. I find it to be a fun challenge. The Harvest Bowl was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving with chickpeas, quinoa, avocado, and plenty of green. The sweet potato fries were good too. I would've loved a little more crisp on them, but let's be honest that's usually the trade-off with sweet potato. The portions were just right. Filling enough to enjoy without immediately falling asleep in those dangerously comfortable recliners. (Although... maybe skip the late-night showing if you're anything like me.) If you're looking for an easy date night with good food and a comfortable movie experience, iPic remains as my solid choice.

Overall, it was a nice night out, but not something I'd rush back to do again. The highlight of the evening for me was hands-down the food. Absolutely delicious! It was served buffet style with a clear Caribbean theme--chicken, pork, ravioli, rice and peas, bread rolls, and plantains. Every bite was full of flavor, and the meal honestly outshined the show. As for the performance itself... it was definitely on the cheesy side. The acting left me unsure if it was intentionally exaggerated to be funny, or just awkward. The murder storyline felt a little confusing, and the clues didn't really connect for me. I found myself more lost than intrigued. All in all, I'd say it was a fun one-time experience. I'm glad I finally tried it, but it's not something I'd personally do again. Escape rooms are much more my speed... I enjoy those way more! Ohh!! I also didn't like that fact their bar was cash only! These days, not many people carry cash like they used to. This was a big fail for me... If they don't have a credit card machine, these many other options they could've used (cashapp, zelle, etc.)

The place definitely has hole in the wall comedy venue feels with two different venues for improv (Main Stage or The Spotlight) and stand up (The Spotlight). They only sell light snacks and drinks (soda, wine, and beer) here, but it is fine since it is a comedy venue. I do like that their beers are from local Miami breweries. It's nice to see local businesses support local businesses.

Forget overpriced therapy--take an improv class here and you'll laugh your way to self-actualization while realizing your coworkers aren't nearly as funny as you thought. As a guest? The shows are flat-out killer. Sketch, stand-up, improv--pick your poison. They've been around since 1999, making them Miami's longest-running improv theater. That means they were making audiences spit mojitos out their noses before TikTok was even a twinkle in the internet's eye. As a student? World-class training at a price that doesn't make you cry into your cafetera. The instructors could probably run a small country--they know timing, character, storytelling, and how to pull comedy gold out of sheer chaos. I got a high-quality education here that beats half the corporate "leadership retreats" I've ever suffered through. Where else do you learn to think fast, connect with strangers, and leave with actual abdominal soreness from laughing? This is Miami, so you'll see a crowd that looks like it was cast by the United Nations, all laughing in unison at things you'd never hear in Peoria. The theater itself is an intimate black box with a bar that makes you feel like you're in on a secret. And you are--the secret is this: everyone should take an improv class. Your future self (and maybe your marriage) will thank you. Just The Funny isn't just Miami's best comedy spot--it's an institution.

When my family was embarking on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce my own kids to the Jungle Queen. It's a short boat ride that takes you through the canals behind the mansions and quasi-famous homes on the water. Your guide on board will tell you about the homes and landmarks you pass en route. There is a bar on board, so no need to sail sober! LOL There are also a few snacks for purchase. The air movement on the boat keeps you from getting too warm, even when the sun is blazing, but don't forget your sunscreen. There's no bad seat aboard. All in all, it's a nice little boat ride if you're looking to get outside and burn some time in Fort Lauderdale. There is a string of food shops along the waterfront outside the entrance, so you can plan to grab lunch or dinner before or after your ride. We really enjoyed our trip, but I'm deducting one star due to the boat traffic (which I know they cannot really help). Maneuvering around all the other drunks in their watercraft was kind of a drag.
