I finally made it to the Improv for a comedy show. Check in was easy, there was an attendant just outside. I waited for the doors to open and to my surprise they sat me and my girlfriends right in the front. They offered us menus and bought us water. There is a 2 drink minimum but you can also get soda so it does not have to be alcoholic. I ordered the Passion fruit tequila martini and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. With just 2 drinks, I was already feeling good, if you know what I mean. Drinks were pricey, $20+, but they were made well. We ordered nachos for the table which werent the best but we laughed so much with both comedians. After the comedy show we crossed on next door to Copper Blues to continue our night. Always a good time at the Improv... just wish they'd improve their dining menu. Okay food options aside the place is always a hit for date nights . Relaxed environment with entertainment that provides lots of laughs. Also after the show the exit leads to Cooper Blues so you can choose to stay make it a late night if you want. Made our way down to Doral for a comedy show at the improv. A very conveniently located garage made it easy to find a cheap parking spot. The venue was comfortable, a slightly elevated stage with great sight lines and decent sound, good lighting and cold AC. Sadly our only complaint was the human element, service is not great. When you're paying these extremely over inflated prices for food and drink, (16 for fried mozzarella sticks and another $16 for the most poorly executed version of truffle parm fries we've ever eaten!) you'd expect them to be brought to you fast or at least served by someone who seems they want to be be there, but no... And drink prices? Ack!! The check comes with 18% gratuity added on (we tip more but even that amount was sadly underserved) but then paying automatically pops up a window asking how much you want to tip on top of it... read more

When you have been to one Florida improv location you've been to them all. The decor and seating is standard....chairs at tables. This one is much like the rest. But you don't really go here for the venue do you? You go for the show offerings. I find their two drink minimum annoying, and their food just average but overpriced. The Miami Improv is located on the second floor of Doral City Place next to Copper Blues Rock Pub and Kitchen. There are a few parking spots on the street and the Doral City Place parking garage is about a block away next to Publix. Parking is free for the first two hours and they charge after that but it isn't expensive. My friend invited me to enjoy her at a comedy show featuring Jonathan van Ness from Queer Eye. Unfortunately for me we were sitting against the stage and I was directly in view. After working my two jobs for the day I may have been a little tired and he definitely caught my wandering gaze. People were literally on their phones and I got called out for glancing at the time on my watch. My apologies. Aside from getting picked on it was an enjoyable performance. The Miami Improv has a two drink minimum and both food and drinks are expensive. We had a espresso martini and since I was driving it was followed by a soda. We decided to share a Cobb salad but we didn't care for it and the strange chicken on top and ended up leaving most of it on the tables. While the food may not always meet expectations, the quality of the performances compensates for these shortcomings. Another odd thing about the Miami Improv does not have their own restroom. You have to go next door to Copper Blues where I was ear blasted by the rock band on stage. The main reason to come to the Miami Improv is for the comedy shows and the space is intimate and inviting. Service was great and everyone working was welcoming. Doral City Place is also great location because after you finish your show there are a number of other late venues for food and drinks or you can just lounge in an Adirondack chair by the fountain. read more

Head to the Improv from time to time and it's always a great time with some laughs.... Some more funnier then others but always a good time with the headliners and guest comedian and host. Nice, cozy and intimate venue great for group gatherings and date nights. Be sure to sign up for their mailing list and get notices from time to time for free tickets and you only pay for a small service free so definitely worth it. There is a 2 drink minimum requirement. Bottle of water counts as a drink requirement as a tip. Specialty drinks can range from $20-$30 each. Beers are about $9-13 dollars. Maybe it may be just me or just the nights I've gone.... But boy do they make the drinks strong. Menu is your basic bar food type which comes out quick and hot! Wings were perfectly crispy and loaded fries were good and tasty. My husband and I came here with my in laws to watch Angelo Colina and we had a blast! He was super funny and kept everyone having a good time all night long. Their drink was super refreshing. I had the el ranchero in a fish bowl and it lasted me all night. The appetizers were very satisfying as well. Highly recommend this place to have a great laugh and enjoy it with good company. I really like this venue. They have some good comedians come through and the sound system and overall space is nice. But the service is so slow and the food is hit or miss. I also went to order a draft beer listed on the menu and they didn't have any draft. Then they require a two drink minimum but again take for ever to deliver them. Just a frustrating experience while ordering in general. We ordered the pizza (cheese) which was glorified frozen pizza, the spinach dip, and the French fries. Drinks took forever and there appears to be a shortage of napkins in this facility as we were given zero the entire night. Would you like some silverware? Nowhere to be found along with the server. A food runner brought out the food and was also asked for napkins and silverware and never came back. The food wasn't bad but for people who were spending the kind of money we were at a table of 10 you would think they could at least come back and ask us if everything was OK which they never did. Casual ambiance. They pack the tables for a show. Decent stage and sound system. Buy the tickets for a show and then its first come first serve. They have community tables in the center and some booth seating on the edges. A pretty decent drink selection, which helps since you have to buy two in a show. I used to go to a lot of stand up when I lived in NYC, so very much appreciate the comedy scene and opportunities to see national acts locally. Chris DiStefano had a fun crowd, drink specials. All improvs have a 2 drink minimum per person, and is non-negotiable. I usually get 2 bottles of water since I barely drink. Mushroom pizza was yum tonight. Heard Kid Fury was coming to town so I had to go support! He was amazing by the way! The name of this place is a little misleading. Miami Improv is actually at CityPlace in Doral. I've been to CityPlace before but couldn't remember the parking situation. Well, let me tell you. It's a ParkMobile deck. It's $6 on the weekend for 2 hours and a different rate after that. There's a hotel next door that will let you park for $10 all day. The venue is upstairs near the bar and Novocento. They have a 2 drink minimum. Their specialty drinks are $22 a pop! Things got expensive quick! I had the chicken tenders and fries. The chicken tenders were actually good! I requested honey mustard a few times before someone finally brought it out. Loved the show. Doral wasn't too far. Just wished there was improv closer to Wynwood. read more

I came here for a great friend's birthday this last weekend. With all of the places in Miami, we agreed on this road trip to Doral for her birthday dinner to see Michael Yo perform. My rating does not at all reflect celebrating with my friend nor Michael Yo's performance. However, the level of service at the venue left plenty to be desired. After waiting more than a half hour outside in the humidity including past the scheduled start time we were all led in to the auditorium. To their credit, they did have bottles of water available to remain hydrated while waiting. When we sat down, I mentioned to our server that it was the aforementioned friends birthday. No attention seem to have been made. They have a two-drink minimum and I ordered a glass of Moscato, which was fairly decent as well as a soda because I drove #oldmanstatus. The food is on par with what you would find at sports bars and we placed our dinner order. I understand the performance, the show was sold out. However, we didn't get our food until way into Michael's headliner presentation. We had to ask a couple of times for extra barbecue sauce. The food itself was not too bad, again what you expect at a sports bar. The chicken tenders / wings I had were sizeable and tasted decently. The fries also had a decent crisp. The nachos were a little bit on the room temperature side. Where the problem started, besides the long wait times, was with my friends drinks. One of them from our group had to send her drink back like three times because either it was too strong or too weak. Then the kicker: no effort was made not even a shot or a dessert or anything for the birthday girl even though we mentioned a couple of times. To think that we went there to celebrate, out of all the other places in Miami and they didn't do anything was disappointing. Oh, and of course they had the 18% automatic gratuity. read more

This place is pretty awesome for some entertainment. I have been to a lot of improv venues, but really have a good time as I had here. Tonight I came to see a comedy magician. My experience has been that most comedy magicians are good at neither. But Eric Eaton was the real deal. Personally, I would think of him more as a comedian, the darn good one that uses magic as a tool to craft his comedy he does it very well. He offends nearly everybody. He chooses to interact with, but does so in an oh non-offensive way; reminds me of some of the comedy greats who were able to do that. The venue was nice, although a bit more crowded than it would like. There is a two drink minimum. The drinks are somewhat high in price, but I ordered a double scotch and up charge for the second shot was more than reasonable. More over the pours are very generous, making it actually a good value. The service is excellent and I tipped generously because of that. Overall, I loved the venue love the show although the opening act was disappointing and had an enjoyable evening with my wife I would love to return with a bigger crowd sometime. Speaking of crowd the room is packed. I think they sell out. When I asked most of the patrons had never heard of the artist so it appears that Miami improv does a great job in filling it seats. And well they should. It is a remarkable place for a fun evening. There is also a menu of apps and food, which looks great, but we've already eaten. I may return hungry next time. I came here with a group of friends to see a Haitian comedian. We arrived on time and they were seating everyone. The way the auditorium is you can pretty much have a good view no matter where you're seated, but we did get a table upfront, so we were able to have a really good view of the stage. We ordered a bottle of wine, which I think was a good move because it was a very packed show and if you were ordering drinks, I would imagine it would take longer. My friend and I had a great time. The server, Christian, was really really good, food brought out quickly before the performance started and he was very attentive. This week I went to Miami Improve twice when I got complimentary tickets both times. On Saturday, it was very full but I was shocked how efficient the staff was in seating everyone relatively fast. I did notice a weird smell when I first sat down, as if the tables were cleaned with dirty towels, but it didn't bother me after a few minutes. To drink, I ordered the passionfruit paraíso and it was big and delicious. I did not eat during this visit. The comedians were hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed Michael Yo's comedy. The second time I went was on Wednesday and it wasn't as full. The service was much better and I didn't notice the odd smell. I ordered the same drink as Saturday and this time, an orange was added to the drink which made the drink cuter. The server also told me that the cups were souvenir, so could take them home. I wished I was informed of that on Saturday. To eat, I ordered the nachos with steak, which was good. The pickled onion on it was delicious. However, I think it could be improved if sour cream and jalapeños were added. The comedians on Wednesday were not as funny and I enjoyed the openers more than the headliner. I would also suggest changing the two drink minimum. This is great to implement when the tickets are complimentary but if tickets need to be purchased, it makes this an overprice outing. On Wednesday, our server was super nice and helpful with my table, which we enjoyed. Overall, I would return to this establishment only if the comedians are more known or if the tickets are complimentary. read more

The Miami Improv looked clean and nicely arranged. The food was great, we ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich with truffle fries. Both were amazingly delicious. I ordered a Strawberry Margarita and my husband ordered draft beer. Both were cold and delicious. The service was excellent. Looking forward to coming to other events. However their menu looks like they have a little bit for everyone and what I saw coming out from the kitchen looks fresh and delicious. Went here for a show recently, it was small and intimidate compared to other places I had been and very organized. I saw Martin Amini, whom I had seen in the past in D.C. This location was so intimate that we made friends with the people sitting next to us, and even got to have a (FREE) meet and greet with Martin. The only downside is that they have drink minimums, and our check came out to $100 (on top of the $80 we already spent on tickets). I would definitely come back here and recommend it if you're looking for something different. They also often send out promo codes for free shows to make this a more affordable experience. read more

They don't disclose that they have a regular drink menu, they'll hand you a "souvenir cup" menu with no pricing. (around $25 a drink) i was shook, the best part is by the time we went to pay they had took all our souvenir cups off the table. Was only 3 of us, 2 pizzas and 5 drinks and 1 water. First time at the Miami Improv, loved almost all our experience. We got there 15min before the show started. I purchased VIP tickets ahead of time on their website. TBH I threw away the additional $20 for the VIP tickets as I noticed once seating down, we sat at a regular table, nothing special or extra about the VIP, so save your money! Couldn't really talk to anyone about our "VIP" wristbands, since service was pretty non existent. The comedians on the other hand were great and put on a great show!! Drinks overpriced At least I'm with my good friends as they are more entertaining that this place! For a comedy theater the food here is what you would expect except slightly better. They have lots of options from bar food to salads. I had the chicken tenders and they were honestly so good. It's definitely hard to mess up chicken tenders but I've had some bad ones in my life and these were so crunchy and made with real chicken that pulls apart when you bite in. Crunchy fries and good dipping sauces too! There's a 2 drink minimum which they strictly enforce, for example we hadn't ordered a second drink towards the end of the show and the waitress brought us another without asking.
