I found this place from a instagram Ad. The pictures were impressive so I decided to make an appointment and try this place out. I have to say that the pictures didn't match how it looked in person. The place was just, dirty. The floors, everything looks old and worn out. I still decided to give them a try. The surround area was just messy, dirty floors, washroom, hair on the floor, garbage on the floor, dusty. It was a complete turn off. The service was ok, the message was just random, the pedicure was better than the manicure. The manicure was rushed, uneven polish. The manicure polish did chip after one day. Terrible Service - Stay Far Away This is one of the worst nail salons I've ever been to. Unless you're spending a lot of money, they don't value you as a customer. If you say you're unhappy with something, they will literally ban your email so you can't book online forcing you to call in, and then no one wants to help. That's exactly what happened to me. Simon did my nails. I chose a polish but didn't like how it looked after it was applied. I politely asked him to change it, and he charged me $20 for the polish change which I paid without complaint. But afterward, I discovered my email had been blocked from booking. That's their idea of "customer service." The atmosphere is just as bad. The staff constantly speak in their language while staring at customers, making it obvious they're gossiping. I even saw this happen to another customer who simply asked her nail tech to fix something. They are rude, dismissive, and act like they're doing you a favor just by working on your nails. Extremely unprofessional. Overall, this salon is disrespectful, shady, and clearly does not care about its customers. There are plenty of better salons in Markham -- save your time and your money, Stay far away! read more

Material used for gel is the cheapest kind, pink gel tring to pass it off as bio gel. Nail cracked within a day, went to have it corrected and the rudest nail tech was growling in vietnamese vile things about me. (Google voice translator!!!) and complaining that I'm fat and stupid. Proceeds to chuck the nail color basket at me, hitting my arm because she didn't have knowledge to match colors. It's been two days and nail cracked again! I also got a pedicure, the other nail tech ripped the liner while my legs were in the water and was forcing my legs into the tub even when I told her it defeats the purpose of having a liner so my feet doesn't come into contact with the tub or germs in it. Definite health violations. Racist, disgusting and unhygienic. A visit from health officials is warranted. read more

I called before they opened on Saturday and asked if I could come in for a shellac manicure. I was told I could come at 10, so I headed over for around that time and was seated right away. There were sooo many colours to choose from, so it took me awhile. Any woman knows the struggle! The nail technician was working away on my hands while I decided. She very quickly got both of my hands prepped and then painted. I was extremely happy with the results, and I was in and out in less than an hour. The place really filled up while I was in there, and all of the ladies working there seemed pleasant and friendly enough. $30 for a shellac manicure is pretty great, I will be coming back to see what nail art they offer soon! read more

Very clean, bright and modern salon. Called for last minute pedicure, they were able to fit me in and was actually on time as stated over phone. The salon is spacious and no awful lingering smells but they left the front door open so it was nice. It's nestled in a quiet plaza with lots of free plaza parking. Some nail techs will chat with you a bit but leave you to your phone and chat amongst themselves afterwards. (They were speaking Cantonese mainly today and contemplating ice cream and dinner plans) Lots of colours to choose from and trendy ones too. The tub has a plastic liner, they use a really nice mint scrub for your legs/feet and a nice moist hot towel afterwards which is nicer than some other salon attempts in the area. Amy (?) was my tech today and she actually gave a proper foot massage that lasted more than 30 seconds, so that was really appreciated. I had tried to walk in to The Nail Chamber with a friend on a weeknight over the summer to get mani/pedis done but they were packed so I learned my lesson & made an appointment when I wanted to get my nails done this time around. I had opted for a French ombré shellac polish change, which was $27. I had this done before at a different nail salon & they had airbrushed the ombré effect. The nail technician at The Nail Chamber achieved the ombré effect by manually blending the shellac with a small brush (if you look close enough, you can see the faint, fine brush strokes). I was impressed with the results & the fact that it didn't take a significantly longer time - I was in & out in an hour. I had asked for my nails to be shaped squoval & a bit tapered at the ends but I felt that they were too square. I had mentioned to the nail technician that I was concerned that the corners of my nails would chip so I asked her to round them some more. She assured me that once the shellac was applied, my nails would start to round, which they did (a bit) but not exactly what I had asked/been looking for. So far, no chipping or lifting at all & it's been 2 weeks. Overall, it was a pleasant experience & I look forward to going back to The Nail Chamber as my go to nail salon!! read more

I've had 3 different techs in the times I've gone in different occasions and they're all good. I would recommend the owner for the best hand nail experience though. They do get busy so I'd recommend setting an appointment ahead of time and going early to avoid having to wait. read more

Facilities: Ample parking on a Friday morning. Spacious, bright and clean. Polish selection is slim but managed to find colours that worked. The receptionist even came over to help me find the right colour from the inspiration photo I showed. She then proceeded to mop and clean. Layout is thoughtfully planned, 6 mani and 6 pedi stations facing a central TV. Quality and Price: $38 for a mani-pedi. Polish quality is good, not luxe. For the price, it can't be beat. Appointment time at 10am, finished at around 11:45am. Service: No wait on this Friday morning. I was seated right away. Anna worked so carefully with my feet and hands. I'm a mom with zero time for my feet, so they were in rough shape coming in. She took the time to scrub and exfoliate which I truly appreciated. She adjusted to the needs of my feet. The polish work was good but can't comment yet on longevity. Will update. Fan dried, no UV. She did kind of leave me hanging at the end to start another clients pedicure. I asked someone else if I was done. Overall: The staff speak both Chinese (a few dialects like Mandarin and Cantonese) and Vietnamese. I could understand them and don't worry, they're not gossiping. Professional, conversations about personal lives and the occasional quality check. Overall, I am very pleased with the experience and because The Nail Chamber is near me and the price is competitive, I will likely be returning in the future. Edit: My polish has lasted about a week (non-Shellac). I am not gentle with them either, I'm a mom so I wash dishes, bathe my child, and clean at home. I'm only noticing flaking now. I have been going here for a couple of months now. One lady who I have been going to for awhile does a great job. She is very skilled with applying acrylic and can maintain a beautiful coffin shape. She is also very friendly and accommodating. I recently however had an acrylic refill with a new lady and I'm very disappointed. Two of my nails were broken and needed a full refill, I asked her to continue the coffin shape and instead she gave me thick round nails. She overfilled the sides leaving big gaps between my cuticles and the nails. My nails are VERY thick with poor shaping. There is also TONES of excess acrylic powder hanging over the sides of my nails which as stuck to my finger. I can't break them off and it is very uncomfortable. Overall I am very disappointed. The lady that I normally see here was excellent but the one who did my nails recently was not. I most likely won't be going back. read more

Do not go here, they doubled booked my mom and I at opening. Rushed through both of us. Soaked my mom's hands in acetone for 45 to "get all the shellac off" but it was because they didn't have anyone to do my moms nails that knew how to do the new dip polish. She cut 4 different fingers with either the cuticle cutter or the nail drill. When it was all done, under my nails weren't cleaned it's also extremely bumpy. Will never be going here again read more

The quality definitely varies depending on who you get. You can specify the person you want on the phone when booking. The younger girls are a bit more rushed and rougher with the tools. I've had to tell her to ease up a bit since it was hurting a bit. Overall though for the price it is not bad as long that you get the right people. The quality from my latest visit is definitely not the best. I'll be asking for more experienced techs in the future. read more

I called in to ask when was a good time to come in. Someone on the phone told me I can come now. I told them I'd be there in 5-10 mins. Upon arrival the workers were busy with other clients. They all took turns looking over at me. I stood around waiting to be spoken to but everyone acted like I was invisible. I sat down and waited. Then I stood up again and still no one acknowledged my presence. I was looking forward to giving this place a try since it was close to where I live. This is the BEST nail salon I've been to in Markham! I came here after having a bad experience at the Regal Nails on Donald Cousens and am so glad I tried this place. I called in the morning to book an appointment and when I arrived, someone was available right away - which is unusual with nail salons as they tend to overbook! The salon was super clean and organized. The lady did such an amazing job on my pedicure and shellac. I love that they had a wide variety of colours and brands to choose from. I just picked up my daughter and her friend from a manicure appointment. Both girls left in tears. My daughter's friend speaks Mandarin and Cantonese and could understand EVERYTHING the nail technicians were chatting about including labeling patrons as "Fat Girl" or " Rude Girl". I was appalled. Everything is rushed, do NOT come here to get extensions removed. I had gel extensions and they over-drilled to the point where my nail bed is more damaged than I've ever seen before (I had to visit another salon and they approximated that it would be at least 6 months to one year for my nails to completely heal). In addition, I was cut three times and they failed to appropriately sanitize the cuts until I verbally addressed the blood. First time experience and 100% disappointed. Went in for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure, and they only completed half the job. After removing previous shellac and CHOPPING the length of my nails, they moved onto another client. 30 minutes go by, and they told me I could leave. When I reminded them that they still had to complete a shellac manicure, they told me that I had not request for one (which was written down on my booking), and told me they had no time to complete it and to come in another day. ARE YOU SERIOUS? It isn't hard to ask a client what services they want done, and their lack of concern and "sorries" when they actually don't care about their mistakes is unacceptable. I've been going to this nail salon for just over 9 months. Each month I've had a great experience. I've referred friends and family, I've even taken my children and hubby with me. Until 2 weeks ago when the owner herself for unprofessional when I asked for a different sparkly colour for fourth finger. Made a snazzy remark. I didn't say anything. I left a bitter taste and I didn't give her a good tip. No tip really required she owns the place. She pays herself. Anyhow......today I made an appointment for manicure pedicure shellac....when I got there one on the technicians (nail lady) whom I had booked an appointment with comes to me very abruptly asking "why you here?" I replied because I have an appointment. She says "no I have to do someone else at 1pm". It's 12:40, that was the time of my appointment......why would you book another appointment at 1pm for someone else? She then turns away. Another lady comes to me saying Oh she has another appointment in 15 min......you wanna come back at 3pm? Really???? I made an appointment for 12:30-12:40 and you are asking me to come back at 3pm.
