I have loved going to The Nail Kitchen for a long time and have always thought they've done a great job on my nails. I made an appointment to have my dip nails removed and have a normal manicure so my nails could have a break, and it was not good at all. I was placed with a tech I had never had before, which shouldn't have been a big deal. However, the tech didn't let the nails soak for very long, scraped as much as she could off with a tool, and then went in with the drill. The sides of my fingers were drilled my nail beds were drilled until they were hot. Aside from the discomfort, some nails still have a thin layer of left over dip, while others are so thin and sensitive (red and bruised) that it hurts to have water run over them. The only manicure aspect of my appointment was nail shaping and a small amount of lotion applied to my hands. At the end of the appointment, the tech asked if I wanted gel--after I had asked repeatedly for normal polish or no polish. She then VERY quickly brushed some clear coat over the top and all over my fingers, and said to have a nice day before literally running out of the building. All in all, pretty disappointed by the quality of this recent appointment. read more

WARNING. READ BEFORE GOING HERE If I could give less than 1 stars I would. Let me tell you, this is the MOST atrocious experience/service I have ever gotten at a nail salon, EVER. and I will NEVER go back. EVEN if they offered to fix these nightmarish things. That should tell you everything you need to know. I walked in, and was told to go wash my hands and to choose a color. I eventually was seated and someone came to start taking off my old acrylics before the other person came over. They literally took an acrylic nail and slid it under my old one (so the acrylic nail the guy was using was between my old acrylic/real nail) I cannot tell you how scared I was of my real nail straight ripping off. This isn't even the WORST part. The salon is super dirty, and just looks unorganized. And the people who work there will not listen to what you want, and they will shame you for asking for something specific. (If you don't know how to do it, just say so). I asked for ballerina shaped nails that were sleek/thin and that were black and chrome ombre. The guy Jeff who did my nails was rushing through my appointment from the get go. I had an appt for 4:30 that went until 6:30, and they closed at 6 that day. (AGAIN, if you don't think you'll have time to do acrylics, refuse my appointment!!!) When I called to schedule, I told the girl at the front that I wanted a full new set of acrylics. The whole time I was there, Jeff was doing the sloppiest brush strokes and kept getting the nail powder all over my fingers and dropping it everywhere. When I tell you there was an EGREGIOUS amount of powder used on each of my nails, I mean it. The amount that was used on each finger could have EASILY filled 3 nails. Jeff did NOT listen to anything I had to say, and when I asked if we could shape them into ballerina, he looked at me with disgust and told me THEY ARE. LOL Then I asked if we could make them more shaped down because it felt like I had thick ass boulders on my fingers, and he said "IF I DO THAT YOU'LL BE BACK TOMORROW AND I DON'T WANT TO" LOL the audacity. He continued to call over 3 workers there to ask them if the nails looked too thick. (DUDE, come on. I'm the customer. And none of your coworkers are going to tell you that you did a terrible job because they work with you and have to see you all the time. Let's be real) I have never experienced such atrociously rude workers. CRAZY. It's actually comical how little they listen to someone who is paying to have their nails done LOL At the end of this, I'll be posting pics of what he did to my poor nails and what I asked for originally. I'll also post a pic of what my nails look like now after taking 2hrs to fix them on my own. All in all, DO NOT GO HERE. WHEN REFERENCING PHOTOS, ONLY LOOK AT REAL CUSTOMER PICS. NOT THE BS FANCY NAILS THAT THEY POSTED!! This HORRIFIC experience cost $67 and I tipped $10 (I should have tipped nothing) k bye, it's been real. read more

The staff was very nice, but the quality, not so much. I got a dip manicure and each of my nails looks like they're shaped differently, both in the filing and in the dip application. Also, they did not clean up around the nails on the skin at all, I had a ton of dip/ top coat dried on my skin around each nail. When I pointed it out at the end, the nail tech started trying to scratch it off with her own fingernails forcefully. Why should I be paying so much to walk out and still have to go home to clean them up? The worst part- the salon was DISGUSTING. Reused files, e-file tips that looked very dusty/ like they had been previously used and not cleaned one bit, AND the nail tech brought out a wet little tray that had the nail clippers on it- still wet from being rinsed but not sealed in any kind of disinfectant baggy like I am used to seeing at other salons, AND the nail clippers and cuticle clippers that she went to use on me still had someone else's cuticles stuck to them/ nail clippings built up on them and on the "washed" tray. I'm so disappointed in this salon... I originally got a full set a month ago for 75$ which I wasn't mad about, but today I came back for a fill and I was charged 75$ once again(FOR A FILL). I was told fills start off at 45$... so I was charged 30 extra dollars for "length" (I got my nails shorter) and design (which was a sparkly French tip). She also "couldn't" cover up my previous sparkles I got on my nails last time so you can still see the old set under the French tips. I'm livid at the way I was treated and appalled at how much they charge extra WITHOUT letting the clients know TILL THE END. I didn't mind paying 75$ for a full set that I liked and was asked if I liked but today I was shrugged off, ignored, and overall not a great experience... unfortunately I will not be coming back and I will gladly find a salon that is reasonably priced. The few times I've gotten a pedicure they haven't cut my toe nails, or bother to get an dirt out (I like to go barefoot). I've been here a few times and gotten a pedicure and full set each time. My nails were always great before but this time they were terrible. My toes are all uneven and super short and my full set is terrible. I've attached photos of the style I wanted (not hard at all just need to use a dotting tool.) and what I received. The style was rushed and sloppy. She didn't even TRY. Looks nothing like the reference photo. And then they took a picture after having other staff come look at it KNOWING it looked bad. I'm so very disappointed. I dont normally leave reviews but I felt like I had too. I love the nails but how they treated my cuticles or failed to treat my cuticles was devastating. I haven't gotten my nails done in over a year but this was unacceptable for the price. We paid $297+ for 2 pedi and 2 mani full sets. My cuticles are bleeding and completely messed up it hurts. It was not sanitary by any means. They didn't wipe anything down and all of the tools were dirty. For how much they charge I would definitely look for other nail salons. I legit came home in tears because I was so disappointed. Dont get me wrong I like the nails but everything else was bad. Please take your hard earned money else where. I won't ever be back. Lana is amazing. Look at this picture - it's been FOUR WEEKS. She is the only nail artist that gives amazingly great results consistently every time. Every manicure lasts at least three weeks and usually beyond. She's fast, professional and has a great eye for ombré. After the first couple trips I wanted to post a review but thought it could be a fluke and decided to wait. I've driven by while eating in this strip mall. Thought I'd try them for a pedicure. Was able to walk in later in the afternoon on a Saturday which was nice. The nail tech was friendly and nice. I chose the mid grade pedicure for $52. The extra cost for gel is $15 making this a $67 pedicure not including tip. The color was too light and not enough layers so I asked for more color. Only one foot was applied with more color. It's not a great looking pedicure. The service was nice but for that price point I wasn't impressed. I'll be going back to my previous salon which is less expensive and gives you a beverage. read more

My experience at the Nail Kitchen & Spa was good! I made an appointment the day before my visit because I heard great reviews about the dip powder. They have soooo many colors to choose from. It made it hard to just pick one haha. I was a little surprised to see how expensive it is, I'm not sure if it was reasonable priced or not since I've never done the dip powder before and it is a new technique overall. Ryan did my nails and was friendly. He did a really good job. The salon is very cute, I saw they have wine that I believe is complimentary but I was never offered a glass but the person next to me was. The dip powder makes me feel like I have acrylics on. I had a poor experience at Oasis, so I was dreading getting my nails done again. However this was night and day. I was pleasantly greeted and almost immediately seated at a well lit, clean station with a tech. I got French tipped dip nails and he was not only professional, didn't banter with his fellow techs which was a big change from Oasis. He focused on getting my nails done well. I'm very self conscious about my hands (my cuticles are often a bit rough from picking at them) but I felt like he was just down to business and couldn't care less about that. Absolute worst experience I have ever had. I went in with my daughters to get our nails done for my wedding. Mia treated me like I was an idiot. At first I apologized thinking I wasn't clear in what I wanted (square tips with a french manicure) but the more I spoke, the angrier she got with me. Eventually I pulled up a picture to try to help explain what I wanted but she she refused to look at it- just kept doing it her way. To make things worse, she and the other girl would chat, look over at my hands and have a good laugh, not once -but three times. At least be discreet if you are going to make fun of me. $485 later (3 mani and pedis) I had one nail put on crooked, several different lengths of nails, different thickness within each nail and my french manicure was awful! I went back in the next day to ask for my money back so I could go to my usual place and the best they would do is fix them. I have always been treated kindly by staff and if you explain exactly what you want, they do an excellent job doing so. The owner is very friendly and when he is working he always greets you.
