It's beautiful inside. My wait time wasn't that bad. I waited about 15 minutes. My nail tech, B, did an amazing job of delivering on the design I wanted. The front desk receptionist was nice and often engaged with customers as they waited or signed in to be serviced. I do like the self- service kiosk they have for signing in. I did not like the method my tech used to remove two of my overlay nails. He just popped them off with some sort of tool, which hurt a little. I wish he would have soaked them off. Dropped by for an eyebrow wax and tint. There is plenty of parking since this is located in a busy strip mall. The salon was clean and quiet. The front desk was pleasant and I was seated promptly without an appointment. Selena did the wax and tint. It came out great and I paid $29 in cash. However, the next day the tint was mostly gone. I did nothing out of the ordinary and by day 2 it was completely gone. I know it's temporary but that was fast! Not sure I would return for tint but may try another service in the future. read more

While Vu, the owner, is genuinely cool and Yen is absolutely the best, it's unbelievable that he allows "B" to behave the way he does. B is unprofessional, rude, and brings an overall negative vibe to the entire shop. Plenty of people have seen his behavior, yet many of us, myself included, have continued going. I've been a loyal customer for over five years and have referred more than 11 people, but I recently had the most embarrassing experience I've ever encountered there. I spent $120 for a gel set and pedi.. let me first say I usually only pay $90-$95 the nail tech added on all these a la carte extra charges which I should've inquired about before I left. Service here has always been amazing and I have done everything from manicures and pedicures to the brow shaping and tinting to individual lashes. My girlfriend and I met up after work for a pedicure. We did not have an appointment. They no longer have a sign in sheet. You have to scan the QRS code with your phone and sign in on the link that's provided. Our wait time was under ten minutes. My water was nice and hot just like I like it, soothing my aches away. The technician was both thorough and professional. This business is doing more than a great job to protect customers during this Pandemic. Upon entering you are sent to wash your hands, your temperature is taken, you sit on hospital grade paper and there are see through patricians everywhere. Yes, the weekends are very busy. Worst pedicure service ever! They are extremely unclean. All of the tools they use are dirty. They will try to upcharge you a "basic set"of $35 to a "luxury spa" $65. The only difference is a foot scrub and a disgusting purple hot/steam towels they use for nearly everything. The towels had old crusted polish, gel on there. The towels smelled moldy, and made my legs stink. I told tbd lady it smells bad, I took it off myself. She brought more stinky towels and scrubbed my skin. Our skin is the largest organ and can absorb everything that's on it. The older women said I have to get gel polish if I want all white toenails. Which isn't true. The cheese grader to "remove the callus" has to stop it's unsafe, unsanitary. Ladies invest in your own pedicure product and do it yourself. These workers do not care about our health. I've been here 3 times. All 3 times I asked for short stiletto nails. The first time, the young lady did a great job. 2nd time, I got a man who I'll just say seemed socially awkward...a bit rude. He ended up not really doing a good job, the nails were too long and no hand massage after. But the 3rd time, i regretfully got the same man. I showed him the picture so he could see what I was asking for. He started getting real anxious and talking real fast about how he couldn't make them short AND stiletto. When I asked why (very calmly), he got very frustrated and excitedly repeated a few times "the powder is too thick." Since I don't speak "Nails"...I asked what did that mean. He literally rolled his eyes and said it again...same way. I asked if he thought I had dip powder or was he talking about the powder when he did my gels before. He finally said yes. It made no sense to me, so I just said that 's fine, and asked what he could do instead. He continued to panic about how I couldn't have the short stilettos. I told him I was past that, and asked again what he could do. He said coffin. As you can see from the pictures, he gave me almond. He also did a horrible job of filling it in. He also was yanking my fingers and rolling his eyes. At one point he audibly showed his disgust at my thumb not turning enough. I have severe osteoarthritis but it was never a problem for anyone else. His handling was somewhat painful. He asked me if I had done the last style. I think he forgot it was HIM who did it. He shook his head like whoever it was, wasn't good (agreed). Finally, we reached the end of the drying. I already knew not to expect a hand massage from him. He took cuticle oil and dropped some drops on each of my nails and said,"$50." I asked him was he planning on rubbing the oil in. He told me my hands were finished. And so are my visits to this unacceptable business. They also played inappropriate music most of my time there and I had no way to not hear it. It's very unprofessional. read more

The nail place lost me as a customer today. Since the day I first started patronizing the salon, they have been so rude to me, and honestly all of their customers that I've seen. I try to look past it because their staff does great nails. Today was the final straw. As I was getting my nails done by the nail technician that I've been going to for the past 6 months, I realized that the nail design I desired and what the nail technician was doing were two different things. He was on my very first nail & rather than waiting for him to go on to the next one, I explained to him that I did not like the color he had picked out for me as it didn't match the picture inspiration I had showed him. He explained to me that he didn't have a color to exactly match what I was looking for, which was completely okay with. I asked him if he we could go another direction as to what I wanted my nails to look like, something more simple than what I was asking for, so that I could clear up any confusion. He was upset that he had to re-do the nail that he'd already started so he stormed out of his seat and walked away. He came back a few minutes later and began to use the nail drill to smooth out my nail again. He turned it on high, which began to hurt my nail. Anyone who gets their nails done frequently or does nails for a living knows how much the drill can damage the nail and hurt the customer in the process. Later as the technician finished up my nails, I thanked him for his time and patience. I also apologized for causing any confusion, because I could see that he was clearly upset. He looked up at me and responded, "You should be happy that I am doing your nails because I am nice. Any other technician would have told you to go sit back down and wait." It's extremely disheartening that he said that because it makes me feel that, as the customer, I have no right to tell him that I do not like the way they look/want a different style. I could understand if I had him do more than one nail and then told him i didn't like it, but I gave him the courtesy of telling him before we went on. On top of this, I was not satisfied with my nails but I didn't bother telling him that as I already felt very defeated. On top of this disrespectful experience, they treat customers with blatant disrespect. They have a ton of rules that you have to follow upon entering, you have to pay for each service directly after it is done (ex: if you are getting a mani/pedi, you have to pay for the mani first before you can receive your pedi, you cannot pay for both at the end of your entire service). They ID you when you are using credit cards. Essentially they make feel uncomfortable because you're under the impression that they think you might try to walk out of the salon without paying. They want you to come in 45 minutes before an appointment if you need to soak off your nails. You have to pay with cash only if you are receiving a discount (ex birthday discount) or booked an appointment. They always have different prices. But most of all their attitudes are unhinged. As a young woman with a college degree and a well-paying job, I patronize establishments like The Nail Place with the expectation that I will enjoy my experience. I always follow the rules and give the upmost to respect the staff. It's highly upsetting that I left a nail salon feeling uncomfortable and upset because I spoke up for myself and what I wanted my own nails, that I'm paying for to look like. I felt disrespected today as a long term customer. And that is where I draw the line. read more

They look awful and I didn't notice it until she started painting. Every portion of the service was rushed. Not worth $43 with no chip. Not worth $15, at all. My experience at this nail shop was not the best. I had a no-chip mani on (my own nails) & a regular Pedi. My nail tech that performed the mani & Pedi was mediocre. I could tell he was inexperienced, but I will give him a C+ for the Pedi because he did not rush, it was the mani no chip that wasn't professional IMO. He completed all but the middle right finger in which I requested a tip for $6 - due to this nail being shorter than other nails. Another male tech applied the tip and he was horrible all around. He applied a tip too wide, too thick and the application of the no-chip polish was horrific. I showed the receptionist the horrible-looking tip and she had another female tech attempt to correct it, which was beyond repair. Mind you I paid $65 for the mani & Pedi then $6 for the one nail tip.... oh, and yes I tipped the 1st nail tech only because he did an ok job... and I believe in tipping if you try! First visit here and it was ok. I went in for a basic mani with gel polish. I did visit at 4pm on a Friday so there was a bit of a wait but only about 20 minutes. The manicure was very basic but the color was pretty. They have a large variety of colors. I will say more time and effort is put into those who are getting full sets ( more money I guess). The shop was pretty clean except for a over flowing garbage and the hand rest at the stations could use some attention. Will I be back? I've been a client of Vu (nails) & Kyle (pedi) for a little over 3 yrs now. I LOVE them. (I've also had my nails done by B & Janet, they do nice work as well) I am constantly asked where I go to get my nails done, apparently not many shops are able to execute the "coffin" nail shape. The Nail Place gets it right every time. Mimi is the head esthetician & although I've never had mine done, every client of hers that I've seen has looked great. I'm cutting my hair into a pixie at the end of the month and will likely be a regular in her chair at that point. The details make a difference! I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews, honestly...but there are some people who just cannot be pleased. Oh also, the new shop is aesthetically GORGEOUS & now they take appointments!!! Ok. The appearance is "royal" however, the service is to be desired. The pedi chairs are pretty but not practical. They are dangerous in my opinion, it was difficult & dangerous trying to get out of the chair & step on the floor which was wet from moisture. The floor is something like marble(slippery texture) this is an accident waiting to happen. The service is typical, little to no conversation, the nail techs just instruct you where to sit. I must say the lady that did my nails baked on my polish, my no chip lasted about 3-4 weeks with NO CHIPs! This was a first for me. read more

I went to the nail shop yesterday at about 6pm and Rum did my nails! Yes they were beautiful however, when I arrived home my thumb nail almost totally chipped. it wasn't even 8pm yet! I return the following morning to be accommodated to get only ONE nail fixed and absolutely no one was any help! No money off my next service, no one offering to fix the situation or anything. Rum was busy with a client so I don't put this matter entirely on him! However, Vu and B were completely rude and not even willing to offer me anything! I knew exactly what color I wanted (prima ballerina) and when I told the female nail tech she claimed to not have it without even checking. She then tossed the nail swatches at me and told me to pick. Luckily the receptionist over heard. I told her the color, she walked to the wall and picked it up right away. They did not mention anything about a late charge, but I heard the receptionist whisper to a tech that I wasn't on time but didn't charge me. A girl next to me waited an hour for her service and was told to wait another hr. She left. I waited an hour and asked how much longer and was told another hour. I told the receptionist that I needed to leave and she just said "ok". The next day I have a $25 no show charge. That's the last dime you'll get from me. Update: I found a nail tech on Instagram. Research as many nail salons as possible and avoid these grifters. Charges for service vary wildly depending on the technician. Appointments only allow a 10 minute grace period, at which time the appointment is cancelled, you are then charged 25% of the service you requested OR you are treated as a walk in and expected to wait 60 minutes or more for service. In addition, should you book an appointment be prepared to pay in CA$H, but if you are a walk in and have an hour or 3 to wait you may use either a debit or credit card. The arrogance of a group of people who think they can avoid paying taxes on the revenue they receive in the shop by hiding 70% of the revenue in the CASH only maneuver and then expect you to wait in line to give fatten their pockets.
