I book online, request any available tech and have not had any more issues there than I have at other, less consistent, nail places. I have been going there for about six months. Each tech has been very helpful, detailed and kind. This place *does* seem very busy and I understand why: they do good work. I'm never concerned with the wait, even when I have an appointment, because I can be in a hurry anyplace else but the nail appointment is my time to slow down and if they need extra time to get to me then who am I to assume I know how to manage their business better than they do?! They do their dip powder the correct way (without UV lamps) and seem to have good repartee with their clients. No one or company can offer perfection every time so mistakes and miscommunication are bound to happen but I have found my concerns to be met with all willingness to fix what I want, when I want it. I have had a dip mani every time and only this last set had a few that came off--BUT only because I'm in the 6th week of having it (thanks snow-pocolypse and sickness...). I think their prices are reasonable and the facility is clean, albeit not pristine--they deal in paint, of course there are going to be little spills and imperfections. And to put a point on how much I have appreciated their service, I don't even live north of the river. I live in Raytown and drive my happy us all the hell north, that's how much I like the results I get here. I hope this is helpful. read more

I decided to give this place another try, having experienced long wait times previously. This time, I called ahead and made an appointment. My recent visit left me utterly disappointed. The application of dip was unusually thick, and when I expressed my concerns, the nail lady gave conflicting explanations, blaming that it was the color, then blamed my nail shape she shaved off layers ultimately damaging the color. I requested new service or change of zero color, especially given my legal profession, but was made to wait an additional hour. They didn't like that I had an issue. To make matters worse, the owner's combative attitude upon arrival shocked me. They literally made me wait to speak to him which is insane for an establishment (just fix my nails). I guess it was an intimidation method which didn't work he was only disrespectful. The lack of respect and professionalism displayed were unacceptable. They tend to talk about customers in their own language and they were laughing. Utterly disgusting Regrettably, I will not be returning to this establishment. Zero stars if I could as a paying customer. read more

My girls and I have been coming here for over 5 years. Pedicures are always great and they are always kind. Since they are a great nail salon, they are consistently busy, but Alex will tell you up front how long you need to wait. If you are getting dipping powder, acrylic, or designs you should obviously not complain if it takes a bit longer. We can typically call ahead and make an appointment day of or the next day for a group of 2-3 without an issue, even if we add in pedicures. If you want a rush job, go somewhere else or at least soak your nails off yourself before you come. That process takes a bit. We never leave unhappy, and if something isn't just right we can ask and they fix it. They are reasonably priced, but do expect extra charges for extra things like tips, coffin shapes, and designs. They stuff takes more time and experience so that makes sense. :) read more

Tram is my nail tech. Has been for a couple of years now. I have been a customer for 3 years at least. This is the best nail place around. Tram knows what colors I need to stay away from with my skin tone, what shape looks best on me, and does the best nail art! She is very talented. I have had such bad experiences here at this place. Overbooked, too crowded, nails breaking within a day on 2 different occasions. Most recently the OWNER made me cry because he said he was stressed! HAD 2 calls ins all in all he's the BOSS and she know how to conduct himself. While crying he said don't let the other customers see don't let them see. Why not ? because you are being so rude to me. Saying how he wishes Tookie was there to help her clients because he didn't want to do it. He also moved me away from the other customers so they wouldn't hear our conversation while he told her how stressed he was. I'll never ever go back there again. I just got back from there, and it was an uncomfortable pedicure experience. I could barely hear what the lady was instructing me to do bc of her face mask. She looked annoyed the entire time she was working on massaging my legs bc I wasn't fast enough to do her bidding. And then I needed to reposition my foot cus my thigh was cramping up, and when I did, this lady was not happy about it. I held it out for as long as I could and then I had to explain twice and asked nicely for her to let me. The towel fell off my leg at one point. Another time, she tried to point my toes downward bc I didn't what was saying nor understood what she was trying to do cus her back was toward. Again, I didn't hear what she was saying. She shook her head. The entire time, she looked annoyed, and she was making me feel unwelcome there. Despite the fact that I came by tired, I was apologetic n polite to her. I couldn't wait to get out of there fast enough though. My pedicure experience here was physically and emotionally uncomfortable. read more

At this point, one star isn't even worth it. I got my nails done here for the first time on Tuesday 9/21 and I had requested poly gel. The man who greeted me asked if I'd ever done poly gel, when I said no, he laughed and started telling me how much harder it is to remove and they had to be drilled off. I told him I knew it's what I wanted as I have a sensitivity to acrylic. He was the one to do my nails and made several comments about me choosing poly gel. He was rude during the appointment, my nails looked globby at the end, I assume it's harder to work with based off of how they looked and how much he seemed to hate doing them. Friday, one nail popped. As of Sunday 9/26, two more of my nails have popped off while trying to open a baby wipe package (I guess they don't really have to be drilled off). Overall not satisfied, before I started losing nails I had planned on giving the shop another try, now it's out of the question. Don't recommend, huge waste of money. read more

I had been searching for a nail salon that offered polygel nails (hard gel) in the KC area. I found this place and after checking the reviews, decided to try them. I made an appointment about 4-5 days in advance. When I got there, they were busy but I wasn't alarmed. I booked for a polygel refill and pedicure. The guy was rushing doing my nails and I overall DID NOT like the outcome. The older woman that did my pedicure did a terrible paint job. I even asked if someone could clean up the polish that was on my skin. I've resolved that you win some and lose some. I won't be going back. It was a complete waste of over $100. read more

The inside of the salon was very clean and well-maintained with nice modern finishes and easily recognizable spaces for each type of nail care. We were greeted by a receptionist and told her what we wanted that day, as it was a walk-in. It was easy to pick out the colors of polish on the designated wall shelves and then move to the pedicure stations. It was a bit of a wait to get someone, but there were many customers there and we got to sit in the massage chair, so it was fine. Despite there being many customers, it did not feel crowded or loud. The man who did my pedicure was friendly, just the right amount of talkative, and great at pedicures. He helped me feel comfortable and took great care of my nails. It was a long event, but the end result was great! Will definitely be back next time I need my nails done. read more

However, I did not enjoy being called out in front of the entire salon if I was Vietnamese (no), Chinese (no) or Korean. Come on. It's 2019. And that's just uncomfortable to call Asians out like that. If you're that curious, please ask me privately instead of loudly enough where everyone can hear. It's infuriating when you have to play "Guess the Asian" at every new salon you go to, for the last 30+ years of your life. I was referred by a friend bcuz her nails looked great, so I went and had a full set with gel polish. The tech removed the polish off 3 nails and redid them with no explanation. After I left I realized 2 nails had no top clear coat, 2 nails were rounded not square like the others, gel polish was on my skin and under my nails was a mess. I called 2 days later and went back up. I asked for them to be soaked off and redone and the owner told me we don't do that. Then said there was no way they'd miss painting 2 nails with clear coat and the 2 nails that weren't squared was the shape bcuz of my nail, no that's crap. I will not be returning. read more

I went in for powder dip ombré nails. Everything was going good until we noticed one hand was grey and the other was black. The nail tech asked me if I was happy with them and I said no I want them darker. She looked at them confused, put another layer of topcoat on and nail serum. Then looked at me and said "okay were finished", offered me only $5 off... Didn't fix my nails, one was crooked, and another snapped off in less than 24 hr. Im not one to leave a bad review but this time I could not just move on. I went to The Nail place as my last resort and I would have been happier just going on my trip with nails not done. I sat there in Alex's Chair and he got up 32 times in the middle if just doing 1 hand. He rushed and complained throughout my entire service. I wanted just simple acrylic with a glitter on top. I left this place in literal tears. My nails had a weird curve to them, and 2 of them broke literally 6 hrs later as I was leaving for my trip. Worse nail experience of my life and I paid $70 just for them to break 6 hrs later.
