Gel was done nicely, but length still wasn't even and couldn't tell tip had even been put on, should have saved the $$$$ This was my 2nd visit here after an awful acrylic full set and pedi the first time, should have learned my lesson. My daughter got her nails done for homecoming here with blue tips. The nail tech did not put a base color down, and instead left it clear to see the acrylic tips. Her cousin got the exact same thing by another tech, and they knew to use a base color. We went in to get them fixed today and not only were they rude and argumentative for several minutes, they CHARGED us. They look absolutely terrible, now too, with the base color and white tip. I've been coming here for a couple of years. This is one of the nicer nail salons I've been to. When I say this, I'm not just talking decorations, I'm talking about the owner and staff being nice and friendly. I think their prices are competitive too. Jon, the owner, is very nice and personable. I think the staff takes their cue from him on how they interact with the customers. Great customer service! I only get pedicures and I've always been happy with their service. I get the middle priced pedicure which is $38. They use high quality nail polish and my nails look good for at least 3 weeks. I looked up Gel Nails & Spa, called and ask for availability and the owner said in a very upbeat voice "Come on over!" I received a couple of gift certificates to this spa the past couple of years and have been pleased with the service I have received here. On both visits I received a spa pedicure and was happy with how my feet looked and felt afterwards. I do believe that, compared to some of the other spas in Liberty, Gel Nails does not offer the best service overall however. To me the best part of a pedicure is the massage and the length of the massage I received both times at Gel Nails was much shorter than the ones received at the competitors. I'm never one to complain because I use to work in customer service so I understand the hours can be long but this place exceeded the limit I was able to handle.. where do I even begin.. my sister is a diabetic and often can get low blood sugars which causes her hands to shake and she often will start forgetting things. When she told the lady she was a diabetic and she was having a low blood sugar attack at the end of the service the lady was extremely rude and said " what's wrong with you" in a hateful tone treated her like she was a problem. In that situation I believe even if you don't understand that's okay but at least be compassionate and understanding that she just needed a little time. When I decided to go because my usual nail salon was closed I had forgotten about what had happen to my sister. But I sure remembered half way in that it was this place because I was treated so poorly.. the man laughed at me multiple times when I asked for them shorter and shooed my hand away when he was decided he was done with it. He told me multiple times he can't make them shorter and he can't square them off because they are already in the coffin shape that I had previously but if I wanted them shorter it doesn't make sense he eventually did what I had asked and I always treat people how I would want to be treated so I was never rude to him even when he was rude to me. My nails are uneven and when I asked for dip he put gel on instead. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS SALON it's dirty and the employee was unbelievably rude to me his daughter and the employees. Complete Scam!!! Please do not go here. Rude customer service and it is not safe! I saw online that the website advised for $45 for gel nails. I made an appointment and went in. My nail tech who was Wendy cut me multiple times on different fingers! She used the drill, cut my skin and made me bleed. I pointed it out to her and also told her what she was doing hurt me. She refused to do anything about. I have never once been cut by a nail tech. This is an extremely dangerous and can lead to infections. It is unsanitary and unsafe. She went on about doing my nails and when I went to pay my total was $56? Now I understand tax and tipping but why was this so high? It's because they charge you for the nail shape you get! Excuse me, since when did a coffin shape nail cost an extra $5? They also charged me another $5 because I got my nails long? I went in yesterday for a pedicure and a french nail dip for MY WEDDING that is Saturday. I wanted to move my appointment earlier in the day (2 days prior) but was assured my 4 o'clock appointment is what I wanted as they "really wanted to take their time" since I am THE BRIDE. I left this place in tears yesterday. After already being stressed to the max, I enter the salon to Jon running around screaming, literally, and having a melt down every time the phone rang. It was like they were hearding cattle around the salon. He screamed (so the entire salon could hear), how he has to turn down 100s of walk-ins and how his employees are required to work faster to accommodate his high customer demand. Well Mary did my pedicure which was mediocre. However, whom ever the girl is who sat in chair 3 was beyond horrible. After explaining I wanted it simple and just french dip for my wedding, she begins to very aggressively start grinding my nails to the point of them feeling like the were on fire not to mention the number of times she ground my cuticles. Then we get to the actual dip portion and I have never in my life (I get my nails dipped locally every 2 weeks), had someone so rough and have zero remorse. She literally popped my fingers and then yelled at me to relax so she could do her job. Then after I point out that she missed a large portion of my thumb she processed to tell me her customers help make her nail jobs look good and I'm the reason mine look the way they do. I was livid. I said no more as I was at the brink of tears and just wanted to be done. Jon rings me up, never asked about my experience, or even said thank you. He wanted me to enter his raffle tho (which when I asked how, I was told read the sign as he walked off). I spent $90 dollars on my nails and look like I got a $30 job for my $30,000 wedding. I am beyond devastated as any bride would know - I am crunched for time and don't have time to go elsewhere. So while they're might be some good artist in this salon, the business practices are far from acceptable and they are more worried about quantity versus quality.
