My daughter went in for a set of acrylic nails. She took her grandmas credit card to use as a gift. when my mother got her statement they had charged my daughter $129. For nails and a pedicure. My daughter doesn't do pedicures. Can't stand them. They don't give her a receipt and she didn't think to ask. Had no idea how much they charged her, just that it's always around $60. (She's 16). When they went in to rectify it, the manager Nu (sp?) was not there. Two employees pulled up their computer and said you are correct, she did not have a pedicure. We remember her. When my mother went back today to talk to the manager , Nu. She was told that she had a pedicure, she remembers filling up her water. ( this was a month ago). I ask for a basic pedicure. A man,Chris,sits me in a chair,looks at my toes and starts yelling that he can't do my pedicure because he may make me bleed. I told him I've never had a problem getting a pedicure. He starts screaming in a different language to his coworkers and totally humiliates me in front of other customers. His coworker tells him she will do my service. He is still yelling in a back room,mind you,saying who knows what! I started to just leave,but the woman apologized for everything. I have gone to The Nailery Too for years. One of the reasons I started going was because of how clean it was. My nail girl, Trang is wonderful. She does an amazing job on nails and pedicures. I can show her pictures of designs and she always exceeds what I expect. I have had acrylic, gel nails, and dip nails. Very upset. I went on Wednesday to get a gel manicure and a pedicure. It's now Tuesday not even a week and my nails are all chipped and the paint is coming off. They were rushing me to because they wanted to close and definitely did not take the time to do it the right way. I will not be coming back. I went here recently and my tech was very nice and very friendly. Very gentle! I had spoken with her prior about what I wanted and they even showed me photos of their work. So I came in and showed what I wanted. She got most of the design right but in some areas it looked messy and nothing like my picture. Later on when started to clean my nails I did notice there were nails that were uneven or the coating was not applied fully and you could see the dip coating underneath. Worst experience ever. The last picture was my nails before. I've always had healthy long nails and loved them. I scheduled an appointment, via phone, for a manicure and regular polish. Upon arrival they acted like they had no clue. I get seated and confirm the service. She asked if I was yes them trimmed and I said "yes, just a little bit". The lady quickly started cutting them all the way down the the nail bed! Literally, before I could even react the LITERALLY CUT my middle finger with the clippers. Then she proceeded with my $31 basic manicure, not the price I was quoted on the phone. The manicure took 6 minutes; I timed it because I was so uncomfortable. Then she painted them, it was a good thing I knew my color in advance because I wasn't given the chance to took at colors. I left with dirt on the thumb nail and none of them were painted to the cuticle. My significant other told me to walk back inside because he knew how embarrassed I was; he doesn't know anything about nails and knew they definitely weren't supposed to look like that. this place is hit or miss. if you go pray you get a good technician. the one I got today totally botched my nails. there is paint everywhere, bubbles in the paint, crooked lines from the acrylic and when she was using the drill she kept it in the same spot for too long and it got too hot, I instinctively jerked my hand slightly and when she asked why she told me it wasn't too hot I was just scared and it was in my head?!?!? I hate to leave a bad review when there are a couple good nail techs here and no matter the outcome I always pay and tip well. I took my daughter here for mani/pedi on Tuesday night so not even 2 full days ago. We didn't have an appointment so I was not surprised there was a wait but they put us in the pedi chairs and our water was cool before they got to us. They also started mine way before hers even though I was getting standard and she was getting gel so I was done almost 30 minutes before her. We both got French manicures, hers with gel, and both chipped in the white within less than a day. We were there for almost 2 hours. My daughter also got a design on her pedicure and it has already chipped a lot too. This was a special treat for her and it cost over $150 with tip. I went in to the nailery upstairs and they were too busy so they directed me to this location. I got a pedicure and my hubby got a manicure. They did a good job on both. The reason for only three stars is that I am not sure about their hygiene procedures. I am spoiled by dashing diva in LA where they get fresh tools out each time. I didn't see them do that here so I am not sure if they disinfected the tools between customers. I do have to say that their massage chairs are the bomb...they work very good! This is as good as it gets. I love the Nailery Too and the Nailery upstairs is great too. If they are running late or have an overflow they send you upstairs and vice verse. I have never had a problem at either of these two locations. The last cruise we went on 8 of us went in to get pedis and a few of us also got manis. We were in and out in an 1/3 for pedis only and a hour for mani/pedi. They have a great color selection or you can bring your own. Everyone is detailed and does a great job. They make sure you stay there long enough under the blue light that your nails are dry. They hand you the extra sheet if you want callous remover, special decal paint, gels, etc. They are gentle with the massages and have never hurt me, like some of the other places. They cut your nails as short as you want, and have an amazing cuticle remover. This is my go to place to get my nails done and I am done try other places, none of them measure up to this one. read more

This might have been the regular Nailery, not Nailery Too -- I THINK it was the upstairs of the mall but I can't recall for sure. It has been 6 weeks since I had my nails done there for my wedding/honeymoon and my fingernails are still completely mangled and having a hard time recovering. Several times throughout the manicure my hands HURT but the nail tech was so busy yakking on her cell phone that I couldn't get her attention. The pedicurists nearly clipped off two of my mother-in-law's toes for heaven's sake - she was bleeding profusely and couldn't get it to stop for the rest of the time we were there. Unfortunately, I went here twice thinking the first time they did my pink and white was a rushed mistake but it was worse the second time. The first time the gentleman who did my Pink and White Acrylic they were all lumpy and when I asked them about it he said it would be fine but by the end if the process I had to ask him to file them down almost completely and reapply the pink and white. I have extremely small nails because I bite them but I have had pink and white on for years and it has never looked like this! The second time I went, the same guy asked me who did my nails and commented that they were bad. Hmmmm..... they had 2 fill lines and were poorly filled. Okay, so i've been searching for a nail salon that i will be happy with in the long term, and I'm hoping that these yelp reviews help, unfortunately not really. Now as far as this place, the receptionist Emily is a sweetie! The woman who did my pedicure was nice, seemed a little standoffish at first, but warmed up when I started talking. She did a great job on my pedi with the exception of leaving this blue stuff on the back of my calf, and didn't say anything and let me walk around the mall like that. It was only till I got home my husband asked what was on the back of my leg,..hello embarassing. This is the second place that does pink and whites and does the whites first. I'm finding that I don't like that because it doesn't look as clean and even throughout the whole nail, much more they don't all look uniform. I was a little disappointed when I got home and looked closer at my nails that they were slightly bumpy....it wasn't smooth, and I love that feeling of your nails feeling smooth. The white portion of my pink and whites were slightly higher than the pink portion. I think she was not used to doing the acrylic a little thicker so therefore it came out uneven. Then the portion near my cuticles were so high, it just is not natural looking and bumpy. I'm not a fan. However the woman that did my nails was super nice and kept good conversation. I think she may need some more practice. For the almost $100 that i spent for a pedi and pink and whites I felt that what I got was not worth the money I spent. So in conclusion unfortunately as much as I liked the women there, the quality of work was just not up to my standards, and what gets me is I was very specific about my needs, oh well. Someone needs to notify state board about this place. My girlfriend and I went there for pedicures and had the absolute WORST experience EVER! My girlfriend had shards of glass in the pedicure bowl, told the technician and she brushed her off! She didn't stop to clean the bowl and continued her pedicure with shards of glass everywhere! Seriously!? Both women were extremely rude and rushed through the service trying to get us out of there. We both work in the service industry (hairstylist/waitresses) and are extremely patient but damn...I never leave bad reviews but I'm leaving this as a matter of safety. This is literally the worst nail salon. I have come here multiple times only bc they are open late. But tonight had me in tears. I walked in 23 minutes before they close (8:37 pm) asking for a fill and and a touch up a few nails. The owner was finishing up with a customer while two other employees were sitting in the pedicure seats, they informed the two sitting there did not work with acrylic only regular manicures and others had left bc it was past 8:30 (yet they close at 9)? So I said I guess I can do a manicure, but yet again they turned around and said to me they would have to soak my nails and I said ok fine as they're super old and shouldn't take but 5 minutes to do so. They replied no you come back tomorrow which I had explained I have 1 year old twin boys and that I wouldn't be an option, the owner responded by repeating herself "Awh ok come back tomorrow", as if she didn't understand English and I know she does very very well. Besides being completely let down, after willing to sacrifice what I really wanted I was very upset with the nerve of them. Beyond this experience, I have walked out with very weak/dry nails beds AFTER asking for my cuticles to be cleaned up. Another time I was overcharged for an upgrade of gel when I had never asked for it nor did I want it (& did not receive it) but she had failed to tell me I was paying for it until after they had pulled the drawer and when I paid it seemed oddly pricy so I asked what I was charged with and I said since I didn't want/get gel and already paid will this include your tip and she says no and makes up two other reasons why I was overcharged. Then a third time I left with differently sized nails and thickness they looked like shit and when I'd mention it she seemed to take aggression out on my fingers. I sound like an idiot of course for even going back but like I said they are the only place opened late and it's nearly impossible to make it through a nail service with twin babies so I do have to wait until my husband is home. I used to go here all the time but I found that some of the people that work there are just rude for no reason. Not only have I experienced rudeness but I've also watched as one of the technicians rolled her eyes at a customer because she didn't want to do her nails. I always made an appointment and would show up and have to wait anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour! Very nice place and kind people but there is this one male worker that has a very shaky hand and messed up my nails and didn't cover my whole nails on sides just sloppy work. 'And that's when he told my almost three year old that she would leave there ugly....' Okay, I would like to preface this review by saying I am not easily upset nor do I read into people's comments. I am a realist with a positive point of view. Writing reviews is not my thing so I'll just tell the story. I took my almost three year old daughter to get her nails painted at the nail salon for the first time tonight. She was elated. She got dressed up and could stop talking about it the whole way there. We picked out our colors and waited. Linda started on my nails as my girl waited her turn. A guy named Chris came over and asked my daughter if she wanted her nails done-- kind of loudly (which scared her- new place, strange man, loud voice... Remember she's only two) When my daughter declined, the man *shouted* "you don't get nails painted, you leave here UGLY" ....... This is when my daughter burst into tears. She refused to have her nails painted by any of the other techs no matter how nice they were or how many suckers they gave her. She was a wreck. Linda, Jessica and a couple of other ladies were committed to cheering her up which finally worked. But still, we left with out her having her nails painted. That being said. I will be back because of Linda and Jessica. However, I hope Chris is no longer there the next time I go in, and if he is I have now prepared my epic comeback (keep in mind I'm not easily upset, so it took me a while to gather my thoughts) read more

My daughters and granddaughter have been coming to Nailery Too for years, my favorite is Trang and the other girls like Young, I can tell you if you treat the manager (Trang) with respect she will do all she can to make you happy. I know how busy they can be and she does her best to notice what's going on with her tech's. Went in here today to get a regular fill. I had called in advance to make an appointment because they said they were very busy. When I got there, I stood at the front desk waiting for someone to acknowledge that I was there. The man who finally came up to the front desk, I believe his name was Kevin. He looked at me and just gave me a blank stare after I had told him twice I had an appt for a fill. He then walked away. Finally the front desk girl helped me and told me to have a seat. It was very very disorganized. I I waited about 25-30 minutes until they called my name. While I was sitting I was reading all the signs they had, one of them saying "if your nail tech speaks any other language than English you will receive 10% off of your services. Right when I sat in her chair she started talking some other Language. As she was finishing up my nails she had told me it's an extra $5 to cut my Cuticles and $3 for a pink fill. I have been here in the past, and overall the experience is eh. I decided to give it another shot as I am from out of town and I am often hesitant to try new places. I went in the get a full set and a pedicure for my upcoming show. I picked and OPI color that is a really light white/pink as my nails ARE NOT meant to be seen during my competition. I told them such. They insisted me picking a gel color, and they didn't have the one I picked so I told them to just use the original polish I picked out. They wouldn't leave the topic alone trying to find other colors, saying no one would be able to see the one I picked ect ect, being rude. I told them THATS THE POINT. finally the artist gave in and did as I asked, obviously irritated they wouldn't be receiving another $10 of service charges for the gel polish. So that was cool. I loved the color I picked. On my pedicure, the lady who did it was extremely pleasant. Only complaint would be that when she removed the callouses she cut my foot.. Twice. Accidents happen, and people have bad days maybe explaining the attitude from the lady who did my full set... but I don't think I will be returning. read more

First - I would like everyone to see how this "manager" responded to the first review I posted, so you can see how they handle their upset customers, so here is the manager's response to my first review. Please accept our deepest apologies for dropping the ball with Lisa running late on you. My only concern is with a "slight" inconsistency since this is read by the public. Surveillance shows Lisa arrived at 10:20 and started you at 10:21, but late is late. I think that, since it wasn't a good start, maybe you drew a blank but they apologized multiples times. I just got off the phone with everyone involved. The receptionist and the manager both confirmed they did in fact APOLOGIZE and also kept you in the loop as to their attempts to find out where Lisa was. Lisa mentioned she apologized to you 2-3 times during your service and once again at the conclusion of your service. She would also like to thank you for the generous tip despite your discontent. It was an unfortunate dilemma that the tech running late today happened to be the one you had an appointment with but I will further coach her so that we can avoid "false" appointments in the future. Valentines weekend is a bit more busy and we start off in high demand. With Lisa running late, the rest of the staff was trying to get everyone else situated. We try to respect that fact that when a customer REQUESTS a particular tech it is for a reason and we don't question it, like your appointment with Lisa. Our best effort was to get her there as fast and safe as possible. If that upsets you then I further apologize for you feeling "shoved aside". Everyone was already started by the time they realized Lisa was that late. We try not to stop a service once it is started as two wrongs don't make a right. Once again, I'm sorry for any misunderstand and especially with Lisa running late. I hope you have a better weekend. NOW, in response to your response, Tan: #1 Lisa did not start my appointment until 10:30, if you would like me to send you a copy of my text messages to my husband, with some time stamps on them, showing that I was running behind b/c the nail tech wasn't there yet, I would be happy to do so. For future reference, it doesn't matter if she was 5 minutes late or 30 minutes late - SHE WAS LATE for my appointment, but that makes sense now - because look how you defend that kind of customer service. #2. I don't need you to tell me it was VALENTINE'S DAY! That shouldn't make a difference! Another EXCUSE! If you guys can't handle a holiday then maybe you should try a different industry. #3. Lisa nor your receptionist or "Trang/Trane" - whatever her name is apologized. Of course they are going to tell you that they apologized - you think they want to get in trouble! I didn't "draw a blank," I was well aware what was said and not said. Trang/Trane's customer even asked Trang/Trane if Lisa was usually late and she replied, "yes she is late often." Not - "I am sorry" or anything equivalent. All she said (to the receptionist was) call Lisa and see how late she is going to be. Trang/Trane's customer then said, "This is what you call a 'no tip day' - she was the only one who had a clue what was going on or even acted like she cared and she doesn't even work there! ....Actually, now that I think about it - Lisa did apologize about 3 times for burning me with her drill while working on my nails, but that is it! Nothing more than that. She did not say a word to me otherwise. So maybe that is where she was confused. Tan - You need to not make excuses and apologize while accepting full responsibility. Your employees clearly follow your lead and unfortunately have no direction. Again, this is the second time I have had the same issue with your salon. Shame on me. read more

The only place I will go to in KC! My shellac has never chipped and lasts literally for over a month! I just go because my nails grow out! The staff is incredible and I always feel at home!
