This nail salon is the best I've found in Rohnert Park, but I'm open for suggestions if anyone has any because if I have time I got out of town for my pedis! They are clean, which is important to me, but sometimes they rush you because they are so busy. Don't bother making an appointment because they will take whoever walks in before you. I've been to many places for a pedicure. This one is easily the best! From the simple things like how they know their clients by name to the lemon and rose petals in the foot soak. Their chairs recline too! They have a variety of options to choose from. They even wrap your feet in hot wax! All for the same reasonable price I pay at other salons. Must try!! read more

I came in to get a simple pedicure, and it was a less than pleasurable experience all the way around. Half of their polishes are empty or the cap has been "glued" on because the polish is so old and the threads have been damaged. I set my feet into a garbage bag of water that is scalding, and receive a menu of options ranging from pricey to outlandish for the services received. They get to work scrubbing voraciously and trim the cuticles on 3 of my toes to the point where they bleed, one of which remained sore for 3 days after. The paint I chose was a decent color, but she didn't wait long enough to start applying the topcoat and I watched her drag a whole corner of paint off of a big toe. Instead of fixing it she used her FINGER to pat it "back into place" and proceeded topcoating over the abomination. There were unwelcoming signs posted in at least 6 different locations suggesting (airing on the side of demanding, payment in cash.) I didn't have any, nor was I going to leave to find an ATM. I go to pay for the $25 service with a card, and there is not even a line on the receipt to leave a tip on the card. I ask about this and she said she would have to run the card again separate and how much did I want to leave - when I said $2 she responded "there is a $5 minimum to run the card" to which I said "it's $2 or nothing. You can cancel the original charge, add $2 and run it again." For some reason she couldn't figure out how to do that so she had to run my card a second time for the $2 tip they didn't deserve. We made an appointment and arrived a couple of minutes early. We weren't taken to seats for our pedicures for nearly 30 minutes. We were handed "menus" with multiple upgrade options several times, even after already having perused them and chosen the "basic" option. The woman who did my pedicure was extremely rough with my feet and it was painful at multiple times. I considered walking out several times as well. One of the employees dropped a utensil from a container marked "clean" on the floor, picked it up, put it back in and proceeded to use it on my friend's feet. Took two hours to do pedicure with appointment! Plus she hurt my cuticle on my big toe and didn't care after I complained (which I don't do often) kept scrapping and hurting it over and over.. All speak great english, do careful work and wonderful massage. 2) Beautiful, clean location. 3) Great massage chairs. Quiet and gentle. Went on a Sunday morning when it wasn't busy, so nice and relaxing. Did a mani and deluxe pedi, so worth it. I would say it was very reasonably priced and clean. That was what I liked the most, how clean it was. I received a gift card so this was my first experience here, I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to my friends. I will say they do have signs saying that they prefer cash tips, which I didn't have so I felt a little bad. But next time I will make sure to have cash for a tip. read more

I go in here periodically for gels. They do a good job if they are not super backed up. If you come in they always say "15 minute wait." I've seen people with appointments be told they need to wait. Otherwise, their royal pedicure is really amazing and Candy gives great massages.Clean and sanitary but horrible with respect to client's time. read more

Ok I started going to this place a while ago, and they were pretty good so I don't know if the staff changed or what but they do everything super quick and when I got my gel manicure there it chipped in two days... I have been here several times for pedicures and a facial. The salon is really clean and the foot spas are sanitary as they have separate bowls that are lined with plastic bags for each client. This was my first time at this salon and I really enjoyed my experience. I did have to wait 10 min for my pedicure, but they had really comfy chairs which was nice. This place is sanitary and clean!! I like the portable tubs they use with lemon slices and flower petals in the water. All utensils are cleaned and they use individual filers on each client. Made me feel at ease safety-wise. They have a full menu of options and upgrades, but I just got the basic pedicure. What I loved most is that she took her gloves off before the foot massage so I got some skin on skin action. I hate gloves!!! Anyway, the massage lasted 10 min, and they time it so I didn't feel jipped in any way. She did a great job on my toes, too. I will definitely be back! Generally speaking, I absolutely love this place. I have been a customer for 2 years, and have loved it most every time I have gone. I always have gotten a gel manicure. That being said, I have had two gel manicures done by Candy, and both times, I have left with bleeding cuticles on more than one of my fingers. Today, it was three fingers. She commented that I must have sensitive skin, but honestly, anyone is going to bleed if you rip at their skin, not cuticles with a cuticle clipper. It never happens with any of the other ladies, and it has now happened twice with her. She continued to clip at my cuticles while I was bleeding, and while painting my nails, stuck her fingernail directly into the cuts multiple times. When I would flinch, she would just comment on how sensitive I was. Like I said, I am a loyal customer of Nails Shop 101, but from now on, I will be making appointments in advance to avoid getting Candy to do my nails again. read more

I have been going to this salon for 3+ years. I've read some complaints about waxing and eyelash extensions however I don't know why people would get this service done at a nail shop to begin with. I would suggest sticking with the pros that offer those services. I would not assume for this to be a nail salons specialty. I've been to many salons where you get rushed in and out because of walk-ins. This salon takes the time to be with each client. They started my sisters manicure before me which was after waiting 20 minutes like they said and hour and 20 minutes later they offered to start my manicure. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I made an appointment the day before my wedding a week in advance. When I got there the place was busy so I sat and waited for a half an hour until someone finally acknowledged me and took me back to the pedicure chair. The leather was cracked, and the message function didn't even work. Then they had this older man come and put my feet in water. When I asked to skip all the sugar scrub and message they insisted and did it anyway. I think it was to stall until one of the ladies that actually do the work was available. When they were done with the message, I sat and waited another half an hour and no one said anything to me at all. I finally walked out without having anything done to my nails at all. Nails 101 has become my go to spot since I moved up here. It is a clean, large, well staffed shop with a relaxed vibe. The chairs are comfortable and have massage controllers that work. They have a pedi menu with several options one being the deluxe pedi with the scrubs , paraffin and massage. It is a good deal in my opinion for around $35.00. I am super rough on my feet and the polish never chips or flakes as I have experienced at other places. I got a full set here and was very pleased, no lifting and the fills looked great. The staff is very polite and don't spend their time chatting with each other while they work on you which I appreciate. When I have brought friends and have stayed longer than usual I haven't felt rushed to leave and they have a lot of over flow furniture to accommodate everyone while you dry if they do need the chairs. Great place for pedi! I have been here several times. The place is very clean. The massage chairs for the pedicures are so comfortable. For the foot soak, they use bowls lined with plastic which I love! No soaking where funky feet have already been. Another great thing is the file and pumice they use on your feet are yours to keep- they don't re-use anything. Customer service is always good and friendly. Prices are fair- pedi is $21. I have been coming to this place for years, even before the current owners took over. Recently they have upgraded the place, looks great, but along with that they upgraded their prices. In addition you have to pay $3 more if you use a credit card, plus if you want your nails buffed instead of polished that's another $3. That makes no sense since you're not using any of their product and it takes 1/3 of the time. This past time they said that they wouldn't charge me the extra to have my nails buffed but when I got the statement sure enough, they charged me. Frustrating because I really have liked coming here. Also of note, if you are the only one there they do dote on you, but if additional customers come in they rush you out the door. I'm not sure if I will go back or not. I haven't decided yet but if you do, pay cash and always double check for hidden costs. Updated...I decided to go back for a pedicure. It was good. I walked in because this shop is close to my house and where I work there aren't any prices listed anywhere but usually a walk in shop like this isn't too pricey so I wasn't worried. I sat down and asked for a full set of pink and whites which took me saying it 3 times for her to finally understand what I was saying. I have never seen a set done like this before in my life but every one has their own way of doing things so I wasn't worried... yet . one hr and 35 min in I noticed how the smile lines were crooked and misshapen on half my nails I asked her if she could fix it she said she would when she filed?.... after she filed and buffed she immediately without asking or having me wash my hands put on a quick sloppy gel coat and put my hands under uv light .. at this point she is also working on someone else's nails and I am running late for an apt. I asked if I could just pay and leave and come back the next day to have them fixed so she said ok it would be 45$ and pulled out a brochure from her desk that stated 40 for pink and whites and 45 with gel I told her I didn't ask for the gel and didn't feel I should be charged that or full price if I was going to have to come back and get them fixed when I already had spent over 2 hrs there! She graciously said then that she would only charge me 40 but I would have to pay to get them fixed tomorrow.... I was furious I will never go back in there and hope no one else has the same bad experience I did. usually ill go to star nails where its35 for pink and whites with gel my nails always look awesome and it never takes more than an hr and we both speak enough english to understand each other.. oh and endless summer salon that just opened from ssu only charges36 for a full set and do an awesome job... my friends nails look amazing... unlike mine read more
