    Salmon
    Amanda M.

We ordered online to just pick up and go, and I would NOT recommend based on our experience. I ordered a salmon dish that was $31 and it was bland and just not it. It had herbs de Provence on top but it was like it was an afterthought and they weren't seasoned into the salmon, more like cooked the salmon plain & dipped it in the dry herbs after it was cooked. The parsnip puree it came with tasted more like butter than anything else so I avoided that. My friend ordered a burger done medium and she got a well done burger. What pissed me off the most is I ordered a jalapeño cheddar biscuit and when we walked in, I saw a piping hot one being walked to a table that was dining in. The girl who I was picking up my food with told me they didn't have anymore so asked if a plain biscuit was fine .. I was like no not really I don't want that and they had no idea what to do. I asked if they had bbq sauce and the guy said "I don't know". Like what? You work there ??? I just took my food and left and sure enough the biscuit was SO DRY. My friend took cheese from her dinner and melted it onto the biscuit which made it way better. My question is- why didn't the restaurant think to do this if they have cheese.... This place was an expensive disappointment. We both didn't like our meals. The ambiance inside was nice though but the food and service sucked

There's a new summer menu and it is fantastic!! Enjoyed Beautiful beet salad with goat cheese flavor bombs and an amazing crab + lobster papardelle with veloute sauce that is out of this world good!!! Goes perfect with a crispy sauv blanc chock full of fresh herbs, saffron and lots of lobster goodies: SOOOO good. Beautiful setting along the Delaware with excellent service and lovely dishes cooked with care. Passed by this like 100 times and so glad I finally stopped in. Hidden

The ambiance is incredible. A glowing fireplace on a chilly November day. The building was very cool. A very old place completely redone. The menu is small. My husband thinks there are too many burgers to choose from where other food items could replace. Saying that, he got the jalapeño burger and it was too large to bite into. It was one large pepper (which was breaded and deep fried) sliced in half and placed on top of the meat. He asked for it well done, it was medium well. He did say that the bun was great. I had the pub pierogies which were fantastic. I have never had pierogies with green onion, sautéed onions and apple purée with sour cream (I'm Polish), it was fabulous! Service was on point. A very clean establishment. We will definitely return for dinner!

I give a place a few shakes before I rate them unless they really stink then I come running to warn people. This place really is a toss up whether it will be good or not. I've had great meals here, bad meals, great service, bad service. All over the place. This was my gf's favorite spot up until the beginning of this year. We've come for brunch, lunch and dinner. Prices are always pretty high. I don't mind paying if things stay consistent. Well anyway last night was the tipping point. Went to see Burnt Mills Highballers after seeing them at local brewery. Sat down for date night, ordered octopus, burrata and lobster, crab egg rolls. Octopus was burnt, so hungry ate it anyway, didn't ask for a refund like a jerk. Honestly burrata was great on the little pieces of toast. Then the beer I wanted a refill on was tapped but it took forever to let me know it wasn't coming so I asked to cancel it. He still brought it to me and charged me for it. Then the final piece, the dessert. Ordered the donuts and they came out flat. Waiter dropped them and ran cause he knew it was terrible. Hate that this place isn't consistent. Prices should match the service and food. Also don't charge the band for drinks. That was incredibly wild to me seeing them get a check for drinks in the middle of a set. Wtf?

After two visits to this spot, and holding out hope because of the location, I can't say this is a spot worth stopping at. Both times we have had beers that have a funky taste, as if the taps are not being cleaned regularly. The mixed drinks are sugary and are highly priced. The food is overpriced. The dishes are overall poorly crafted and prepared, some of our food came out cold & are generally smaller portions. Our soup was cold on the first visit. My most recent dish, the pork pappardelle, had whole, uncut peppers intermixed with the noodles. The pork was stringy and overcooked. The location is great, which has inspired both of our attempts to dine here, but each time we leave we are left feeling very disappointed and a little jipped.

stopped in for lunch, sat outside and it was so nice! The staff is super friendly and the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. We got the wings with the BBQ sauce as an app (not pictured) and they were amazing! They make the whiskey BBQ in house and it was the best BBQ sauce we've ever had! For lunch I had the beet and goat cheese salad and it was PHENOMENAL! the fried goat cheese balls were so good, I could've eaten those on their own! My boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich and said it was one of the best sandwiches he's ever had!! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend and we will be back!

Stoped here for a beer and had the Cuban sandwich 19 bucks (although there site menu says 16 ? Smallest and thinnest amount of meat I have had on a sandwich. Basically bread left hungry wont return. I've been here in the past, I've always enjoyed , so like others say hit or miss my wife had something else which was ok at best, house wine is expensive and very very small pours

Great food, cool atmosphere, vibey staff, and beautiful view. I ate with three other diners and we all enjoyed it!

Beautifully cooked steak, amazing béarnaise and great fries

Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people. The food is good and the atmosphere did feel like it was from another time, but we had a good time, and it's nice to see a place like this still around.

The Cons: The service was horrific. If we hadn't already purchased tickets (no refunds...) We would have been long gone from there. The owner is totally missing the boat here. Granted the place is in the middle of nowhere but it's got SO much potential. We went for a music event (outside - Artie's "Summer Stage"). While we waited at the inside bar for the event to start (45 minutes late) we tried to get drinks, but couldn't get a drink to save our lives. The place was half empty, and there were two bartenders but they completely ignored us. Like puposely and specifically didn't make eye contact. We waited at the bar for 10-15 minutes without a drink while the bartenders chatted with (I'm asumming) the local regulars, cleaned and checked their phones. Crazy. Once outside the seating (iron tables and chairs) were pretty rusty and really hard. The outside was generally a little rundown, though the stage and the sound system were newer and nice. The outside bartender was more attentive, but the servcie was still bad. BAD bad. Only one bartender at the outside bar was simply not enough. And she had to keep going inside to get supplies, drinks, etc. So if you ordered a wine (my wife...) the bartender would dissapear inside for like five minutes, then come back with a glass of wine. There was a single waitress outside for about 20 tables - drinks and food - also not enough. We easily would have had 2x the drinks and food we had if the service was better. Also we got the same round of drinks each time, but were charged different amounts each round. Random amounts. Not sure I would go back unless it was an event i REALLY wanted to see. I would definitely eat first and not plan on drinking, The experience was was frustrating. Such a shame, this really could be an awesome place.
