Justina was amazing from the first phone call. She sat with us and went over all the details. She also gave our family time to process and was extremely compassionate. I was also able to briefly sit and meet the owner, Rayann. I know my daughter was in wonderful hands with her. We chose just a simple cremation prior to having her cremains sent home for the service. My girlfriend's grandfather recently passed. He lived up the side of a mountain and rather than finding a way to transport his body, Monarch asked her family to transport him themselves, adding another burden on their already grieving family. When they found that that wasn't an option they then asked her family to bring the body down in a gurney themselves to Monarch's vehicle, a mile from their home. This is insensitive at best. If Monarch does not have a vehicle capable of retrieving and transporting the body they should pay for a medical transport to do so, not ask the family to handle that as well. read more

Just went over there today to make a plan for my cremation. In the place is nice granted the woman was friendly granted. Keep in mind when you decide to take a pre-need plan that they have a set price that don't go up. I for one don't want my family to have to pay excess cost that they should not have to. My Mom was visiting NY from Denver. While she was here she developed major health problems and passed away in September of 2017. You cannot do better than Monarch! Our mother passed away recently. Monarch has been so professional, kind, responsive, and precise in everything they have done. From setting up arrangements prior to our need, to transportation of our Mom, to handling ALL the details and requirements at the time of our loss, their service was exceptional. We worked with Rayann and Justina. They were both amazing! We met initially with, Rayann, the owner. She helped us make all of the arrangements and decisions in advance of Mom's passing. It gave us such a sense of peace knowing that everything was taken care of in advance. Justina was our wonderful point person when Mom passed. She immediately corrected my errors on their on-line obituary, was diligent in getting the needed signature for the death certificate, and responded promptly to our emails (regardless of the time of day or night). She wanted to make sure that we had things exactly the way we wanted them, and in the time-frame we needed. It was so wonderful to work with truly experienced professionals at our time of high need. I am a former employee of Monarch Society and I have to say with a few holdbacks they are at the top of the industry. The building is beautiful and well maintained, there is almost a sense of peace and serenity within the mortuary. The owner is clearly dedicated to her business and her industry. She is a good employer who genuinely cares for her employees, though her management style could use a bit of fine tuning and her bedside manner can be a bit crass you can always tell she cares. The non public areas are always immaculately clean, well organized, and dignity of the deceased is well preserved. The one downside to this business, which I believe the owner would agree, is because of space limitations it is not really conducive for a memorial service. The facility is small and elegant and would make for an ideal space for a small viewing however due to parking and space limitations a formal memorial service can be challenging here. That said Rayanne and staff have solid community connections and can arrange a space with an outside church or event center. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend Monarch to anyone in need, the staff is caring and the facility is lovely, in addition you are supporting a small minority female owned business in an otherwise corporate and good ol' boys industry. It's always a sad day when you write a review about a funeral home. However I have to give five stars to the Monarch Society (I would give more if I could). When my sister passed they were a blessing, angels. David met us to remove the body, he went the extra mile to comfort me and assure me he would take good care of her. He was caring and personable, exactly what I needed in that moment. Rayanne was our second angel. She met with us the next day. She was patient, kind, caring and compassionate. How do you write a rave review about a funeral home? This is an unqualified rave. I had need of Monarch services in short order when my father died. We had two days to prepare before he passed, and it was over a weekend. From the time I first called at 3.30 pm on Friday, until the urn was presented to me at 3.30 pm on Tuesday along with multiple copies of the death certificate, the speed, efficiency, flexibility, responsiveness, courtesy, demeanor could not have been better. We lost our infant son at the end of April and we had him cremated at Monarch Society. We were treated very kindly with loads of compassion by the man who helped us (I feel bad but I can't remember his name, but I want to say it was Brandon maybe?) I felt very comfortable leaving my son here and believed they would not only take good care of him, but honor our wishes. The reason the are not getting a 5 star review from me is because we had specifically asked for his urn not to be sealed, and the woman who sent us home with his ashes, who we had never met before, decided she would over ride our decision for our child and sealed the urn. We had intentions of spreading him at a family plot and potentially having a memorial pendant with some of his ashes made by a friend. When I got home and realized it was sealed, I called her. She said she "just wanted to be sure nothing fell out" which is considerate, but that's why he was already in a sealed bag. She justified it by saying she "only sealed it a little". It was challenging, traumatic and incredibly stressful to have to break into my own child's urn, especially after everything we had been through in the short weeks prior. She took away the last decision I was ever able to make for my child. She had good intentions, but it was not her place to make the decision and it ended up causing even more heartache for us in the long run. Other than the last employee we dealt with, everything else was wonderful. It was a beautiful facility, we were able to pick out the perfect urn for him, and I appreciated the compassion we received. read more
