Came here to meet three friends for coffee on a Saturday at 11 AM. We easily found a table to sit. were able to have conversation easily. The table sitting next to us was not very loud, which was nice. the table next to us sat three people and there is a countertop that sits about another 3 to 4 people. most people came in to just take out. I got myself a chai latte and my friends got cheesecake and a Madeline, which they all enjoyed. all of their pastries and baked goods looked very delicious, hoping to try more next time just a bit tight on cash at the moment. What a lovely little shop! I see a podiatrist around the corner, and I came here once afterwards to pick up a variety of pastries for a house warming I was attending the following day. They were the hit of the gathering and people couldn't stop commenting how lovely they were! Today after my appointment I dropped in for a little treat and a coffee and it was just as wonderful as when I came six months ago. I've been coming to this bakery ever since I discovered it 13 years ago . Every time I miss home I got there to get a cheese danish ! They have freshly baked goods ,baked on the premises!! Their sandwiches are insanely good and the coffee is all you need to get you back on track when the day gets harder! so I recently moved to the area I decided to try out the nest out of curiosity because they had so many desserts to choose from. First day I went I was treated very rudely by one of the staff later to find out it was the owner of the place. She was not very kind welcoming and it seemed like she just wanted to get me out the store. But I decided to come back another day because I get that people have bad days but it was still the same issue. I also noticed she wasn't very kind to her employees which I felt very bad for them as well. And just to add their fruits on their pastries taste like they were downed in pesticides!! The owner, Beatrice is very cordial and hardworking. Beatrice and her husband improved this cafe so much from their initial opening about 10 years or more. It is a warm cafe and the Albanians, Romanians and other Europeans frequent this cafe daily. It has become an international spot for all people. As I was strolling by Ridgewood on a saturday afternoon, I noticed this coffee & tea cozy sidewalk place, that caught my attention to have a cup of coffee and taste one of their beautiful pastries. As I walked in I was fascinating by their cozy interior decoration, fresh flowers smell and warmth welcome from the young girl behind the counter. They offer everything from morning sweets: ie varieties of croissants, danishes, muffins, turnovers, scones and biscuits, to desserts: ie gourmet slices of pie and tarts to a few things in between like spinach and cheese rolls, cookies and brownies. The few whole cakes/pies that they have on hand, look absolutely marvelous, but try not to get mad when the person in front of you snags it before you do since they only carry one of each of these picture perfect desserts. They also have a full coffee bar behind the counter to surely fill your morning caffeine fix. One thing I admire about this bakery is that they're a small establishment and they offer a lot, but not too much. Have you ever walked into a bakery (like Martha's) and took about 20 minutes to order because they offer literally almost every kind of dessert known to man? Lol Nest is not like that. Their display cases and shelves aren't overflooded and overbearing. The key is less is more, and they're nailing that right on the head. I love this little bakery! Came here on a whim one day and had a slice of their pecan tart and a macchiato. The pecan tart is so good. They actually but pecans throughout the filling so it's just not a sugary filling with a layer of pecans on top like most other pecan pies/tarts. I enjoyed it so much that I returned a week later to grab a pecan tart for thanksgiving. They have a wide variety of pies and pastries and everything looks so delicious. Delicious pastries and cakes. My favorite are the peanut butter and jelly blondies and the spinach rolls. The ice coffee always hits the spot. They offer a punch card promotion. After 10 coffee, ice tea, or mojito (non-alcohol) you get one large free similar drink. Important note. No decaf for regular coffee purchases. Decaf available on lattes and cappuccinos. The Nest is really great place with one major design flaw. They never have sugar containers available for customers to use. When I ask for light and sweet it is never sweet enough. A simple fix would be for me to grab an easily available sugar container and sweeten my cappuccino to my liking. Unfortunately they have no containers and force you to ask the nice lady at the counter for sugar packets. This gets very annoying when it happens on every visit and I have to cut customers to get her attention for sugar packets. NEST MANAGEMENT please leave some sugar and cinnamon containers out for your customers to use . Otherwise this place is great. read more
