We stopped by after dinner nearby for a sweet treat. This bakery is a small storefront with only a counter displaying the offerings. I got the Hot Lava! cookie. I was slightly worried that it would be too spicy, but didn't have anything to worry about. There is a hint of spice and nothing more. I like that with the spice the cookie wasn't too sweet.

Maybe it was the flavours I got? Just wasn't the best. I've always wanted to try The night baker. Randomly stumbled upon them, Got 3 cookies. The employee was super nice !! - Ooh bae (ube cheesecake) 7/10 not a strong flavour but it was good -Suman 6/10 too sweet and just tastes like cinnamon -Dubai Brookie 3/10 The dark chocolate over powers the cookie, not a very good mix. Only takeout! But can easily find street parking. ambiance was cute with, bright yellow interior with a showcase of the cookies

The Night Baker has opened a new location in the heart of North York along Yonge St. near Byng! They just opened recently on Nov 8th where they are in their soft opening phase. Currently they have a soft opening promo where all cookies are 20% off during the weekend only! The Night Baker is opened by Leanne and Mitchell, two chemists turned night time bakers and big time foodies. Since the beginning of their cookie journey in 2017, they've joined many pop up markets in Toronto and opened up their first storefront near College/Ossington in 2019. Their second location is on the Danforth with their third one being in North York. There is also delivery as well if you order online! The unique aspect of their cookies is that they create Filipino-inspired flavours (think Ooh Bae, Coco Pandan, Peach Mango Pie, etc.) but they also have classic cookie flavours like red velvet, campfire smores, and milk n' oreos. Like all their other locations, this location is small where it is take out only. Upon entering the shop, you are met with a display of cookie flavours. You can purchase one cookie but the more cookies you purchase the cheaper the price per cookie. I stopped by on opening weekend in the early afternoon. I've been to their College St. store and seen The Night Baker at pop-ups but it had been a while since I've had their cookies. I opted to just get 2 cookies - the peach mango pie and the coco pandan. Both cookies were delicious! The peach mango pie was freshly made and was warm when the staff handed me my cookies. The coco pandan had a surprise in the middle as it was stuffed with coconut. Overall, great new location of The Night Baker! Delicious cookies and friendly staff. Great new addition to the neighbourhood and I can't wait to return for more.

The Night Baker just opened in North York, a short walk south from Finch Station. They're offering 20% off, even for credit card payments, during this soft opening weekend. They have a fantastic mix of regular and creative flavours. The cookies are perfectly crisp on the outside and dense and gooey inside. I got a box of six -- coco pandan, nutty pumpkin, apple doodle, peach mango pie, milo cyrus, and ube tiramisu. My favourites were the coco pandan, which had a texture almost like marshmallow, and the ube tiramisu, with its rich, sweet ube perfectly balanced by a slightly bitter kick from the cocoa powder. The shop is small with no seating, so it's takeout only. The interior is eye-catching, with bold yellow and black colours. The art is charming too, with references to iconic Toronto things like the Raptors and a trash panda. The soft opening went smoothly -- the line moved quickly, and customer service was friendly and efficient. You could see so many people walking up and down Yonge with a Night Baker box!

So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed.

Delicious desserts, waffles ice cream, smoothies, and more. We ordered: Medium Mango Smoothie - $7.95 Simple Pleasures Waffle - $15.50 The waffle was light and fluffy and the toppings of fruit and chocolate were a great combination. I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. Their seating area is good for friends and groups to loiter. Also, if you plan on bringing a laptop, they have MANY OUTLETS!!

For items: we chose strawberry, banana, halal marshmallow, waffle bites, brownie bites, and Oreo with a round of cappuccino's ($5.50 each). The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. The only criticism I could have was it took a while to get our order. So, it's not one of those places you can be dipping into expecting to be done in 20mins! We stayed for nearly 3 hours and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

I stopped by Kream after seeing all the hype on Instagram about the famous Korean "Dubai…read morechocolate." When I saw the price was $9.90 per chocolate, I was honestly a little surprised, bc it's sold under 7 per chocolate in Korea. But they were running a promotion until the 15th -- 5 for $30 -- which made it much more reasonable. I've never had the original version sold in Korea, so I can't compare it directly, but from what I've seen and heard, it seems pretty similar to what's trending there. Korean reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and people say it tastes just like the viral version. The texture is definitely chewy, just like the name suggests, and it's very sweet. Personally, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's just my preference. That being said, I gave some as gifts and they absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy rich, sweet desserts -- or you're looking for something trendy and fun to share -- this would be a great choice. The shop itself is small and cozy, but very welcoming. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant. Overall, even though it's not exactly my personal favorite flavor-wise, I can understand the hype. It's a fun treat to try at least once, especially if you've been curious about the viral Korean Dubai chocolate trend. I'd recommend stopping by and taking advantage of the promo while it lasts!

The cube cakes are rich without being overly sweet, and you can tell care went into both texture and balance. They're also filled generously with so much cream!
