I have lived in Mattapoisett Ma for over 5 years now and am a coffee aficionado. I like trying different coffee cafes and for some reason this place was overlooked by me. I do not mind paying a premium price for a good cup of coffee and this place was AWESOME! Great atmosphere, cool decor, and very friendly staff. I ordered a Pain Killer and it was perfect! That nice bitter flavor mixed with a hint of sweetness. I chose almondmilk. Barista was very nice and even told me if I wasn't happy with it she would remake it as it was my first time trying one. Holy smoke, what a hidden gem. My foodie boyfriend found this cutie pie coffee shop on Washington Street in Fairhaven. This place is all about coffee. They also had green tea for me, a tea geek. My man, the coffee freak LOVES their blends and drinks. The carb treats look tasty. They also feature a chili which I am sure he will try soon. Absolutely the chillest place I've found for coffee and good vibes. Their coffee is superb, and their pastries are delicious! I just hung out there for about 2 hours with my friend and played Mario Kart on their TV! I will definitely be returning, not only for their coffee, but also for the great energy! The first time I went, the owner gave me samples of some of their coffee and their AWESOME apple cider! The owners are so friendly and the atmosphere is very inviting. If I could take any place with me from my hometown on my move to Staten Island it would be The Nook. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable about the craft of coffee and welcome all guests. I absolutely love that they play all types of music. Honestly, I can't stomach modern rap but if Paul was blasting it in his store, I'd be all about it. The owners love their customers and it shows; there is a reason this Yelp has a host of 5 star reviews. This little gem on Washington St. is a must visit place. Great clean place with the most passionate baristas around. There are quite a few choices of coffees and each cup is brewed to order, unless you would like a less expensive cup of perked coffee, which is still a fantastic cup. My family and I were visiting from Seattle and I wanted an iced coffee, so my in-laws told pointed me in the direction of The Nook because it was two blocks from their house. They'd never been in but had heard good things, so my guy and I wandered over. I'm SO glad we did. It was so good, that I came back a couple of hours later with my daughter. And we came back every day we were in town! I'm a coffee drinker, so the Blue Devil Brew was my choice each day: strong but not burnt. It was delicious black (like my soul...ahahahahah!!!) as well as with a wee splash of cream. My daughter - an occasional coffee drinker - tried a couple of the specialty blended drinks - including the root beer buzz! - but ended up loving the Local Buzz best. And my guy? He never drinks coffee because he doesn't like it. Until the Local Buzz. It kinda converted him, which is a problem because NO ONE makes anything like this is Seattle! So he's really bummed now that we're home. We also nommed various baked goods: the different filled rolls, a cannoli, and a chocolate croissant. They were all really yummy, but the linguica roll? Holy howdy, that was so so so good. Again, we can't find anything like that out here (hell, finding good linguica is nigh on impossible...). All of the staff were warm and friendly and efficient, and the space is small but really inviting. I guess if there is one criticism I have it's that cream and sweetener aren't available for customers to add themselves. Maybe this is a New England thing because the same thing happened at some other coffee places we went to in western MA, but man, it's awkward trying to tell someone just how much cream you want (I can't even imagine how problematic it'd be for someone who likes sweetener). Anyway, I really look forward to coming back to Fairhaven for a visit and coming by for my coffee. In the meantime, my guy has tasked me with trying to replicate the Local Buzz for him.
