The North Face in Freeport, ME has got to be my favorite North Face Outlet store! I swear every time I come here, they have 60% off all items in the store... definitely come here if you want some great steals! This store has two floors, first floor is mostly women's and second floor houses the men's apparel, children's, and items w/ additional discount. Workers are pretty helpful from what I've experienced and always super kind. They seem to have good inventory of all sizes, which is why I LOVE COMING HERE! Highly recommend! read more

This outlet is the ish! The ish is bananas b-a-n-a-n-a-s. 60% off everything in store and there were sizes to be found! They have women's on first floor, then up the stairs is a mix with backpacks and snow pants etc and they even had Denali fleeces. The further room upstairs is the men's section. This location has a stock of triclimates, Parkas, wind jackets, rain jackets... casual fit jackets hoodies and more. We managed to snag two light jackets on the way out. Great deals! Better than TNF outlets closer to home. read more

The exterior and interior look of the store is mediocre and they do very little to draw you in with window advertisements. My wife and I decided to go in because every other store in Freeport failed to carry girls jeans that would fit the step-daughter. For as big as they are their inventory for girls, right on the verge of moving from girls clothing to women's clothing, is very limited. We would ask about size 00 in girls and they had nothing. We looked at several styles and they said they don't typically carry it in stock and that you would have to order online. Well, the point to going to the store is to try clothes on to make sure they will fit before purchasing. Online shopping just results in return after return till we find the right look and fit which can take 10x as long. The staff was friendly, but the store inventory needs a lot of work to ensure they accommodate all sizes of girls and not just a select group of sizes. read more

For an outlet this get's 5 starts from me. Location center of Freeport - within walking distances (aka less than .5 mile) from many parking lots and the parking garage across the street. Warning if you park in the village you will need to walk up hill for a few feet. Staff - there were tons of staff when we went in December. We were energetically greeted as we walked in. The staff member could tell, I was on a mission. I only made brief eye contact with her with a smile to acknowledge her welcome and I started scanning around the first floor with my eyes. She quickly moved into "help" mode - asked if I was looking for something specific...Yup and I don't frequent the store, so her assistance was welcome on this pre Christmas shopping evening. She confidently informed me they had toddler clothes upstairs along with some mittens. She was about to lead us upstairs when the alarm was triggered by some customers walking out. She immediately sprang into action and apologized to us. And then a manager came flying down the stairs. The take loss prevention seriously - Complete Respect. I was glad to see how attentive they are to protect their business. We proceeded upstairs as she informed us and boom...toddler stuff right there with mittens. This took less than 5 minutes. So we decided to peruse the store. There were so many different options for outerwear. It was wonderful. I didn't need anything and neither did my husband...that was until he saw a jacket for $85 that was originally $150. Amazing. And he is a big guy (line backer size) so the fact they had his size coat and it was that deeply discounted we felt he did "need it" :) The check out process was so easy. A new crew member helped us check out and was pleasant and asked if we were helped. They do track, unfortunately we didn't get the name of the lady that helped us, because she was busy busting a perp. I highly recommend this store if you like North Face. My only bad experience was enough to drop my rating. Im from out of town to this store location, and I had purchased a bunch of items while I was there. Got home only to realize they never removed the ink tag on the white full zip track jacket I bought. And it was pinned on a pocket zipper. Called to explain, they said bring it back and they'd remove it. So I had to drive all the way back there, even brought the receipt for proof of purchase, and when I spoke to an employee and explained, I was immediately labeled a thief who was attempting to rip the jacket off. As if they couldn't believe they missed a tag. Even with my receipt in hand showing proof. Then once a manager had to be called and it was all finally resolved, no one ever apologized, and made me feel like I was wasting their time and they were doing me a favor. I like North Face jackets, but I do not like the retail prices. I was pretty happy to see this outlet store, but I was also skeptical because outlet stores do not always equal great deals. This store has a really good selection and, on the day we came, some great prices. I have been looking for a particular type of jacket for a couple years. I wanted a light fleece jacket with a smooth outside. I found the jacket at REI for full retail at about $140. There was no way I was going to pay that for a fleece jacket. UNBELIEVABLE DEALS!....but only if you hit this store at the right time. They always have outlet prices (typically 20-25% below retail), but sometimes you can find a sale that will save you way more. This past weekend they had a ton of winter gear that was 30% off retail, then an extra 50% off, and then ANOTHER 10-20% off. For example, you could have gotten a $600 jacket for like $125. We spent $300 and got an honest $600-$700 worth of gear last weekend. I think this is the ONLY north face outlet in New England, but I'm not positive on that... read more

One million stars for their sample sale. I needed some new fall and winter jackets and hit the jackpot with their sample sale. If you are a medium in men's or women's you might be in luck (if you aren't they did have some bags and accessories as well as a selection of sizes in a few things). I bought a heavy jacket with a zip out fleece for $60; 2 hats, a pair of gloves and a scarf for $10 each. A medium weight fleece lined jacket was $35 and I got a windbreaker and a workout top for $20 each. I really like North Face clothing and bags so I was thrilled to get these deals, which generally were 50-70% off retail. The sales person who rang me up said that this store gets the end of season sample sale stock periodically but the bounty of deals sometimes go to other North Face outlet stores. Given the quality of the items it might be years before I need to buy another jacket but when I do I would consider driving up to this outlet to do so! read more

Keep in mind when you buy from The North Face outlet there is no warranty. My lightweight rain jacket fell apart and The North Face Corporation would not honor their quality warranty on the jacket. It was a great jacket for the short time it lasted. read more

Prices are more than 50% off retail, which is still high considering Northface prices. It is quality and they have great jackets. Backpacks galore, kids stuff, shoes, shirts, pants, you name it at big discounts. Big stairway to second floor, no elevator, so be prepared. Spring 2017 : note the Tnf outlets Changed pricing recently. Now all items marked are full retail before discounts which are the same as before. No more great deals mostly half off retail at most. Used to be 70% off before the new pricing strategy. Also apparently there will be no sample sale for fall 2017. North face had also diluted their outlets with lower quality jackets made specifically for the outlets. Avoid and try Columbia outlets now. Much better pricing. I absolutely love shopping here. The prices are great, the store is clean and they have good inventory but.... the customer service needs some help. I returned a jacket that was too small that was just purchased. I had the receipt and all. Should be no issues however the associate that was training someone new was just plain rude to me. I was treated like old gum that was stuck on a shoe. Not sure what was worst, the dirty looks or her tone.. This trainer didn't have her mask on her face correctly. I've driven up to the freeport outlets from MA twice in the past 6 months. The first time I went they said they didn't have an elevator. We put my sons stroller behind the front desk and carried him up the very steep set of stairs. (Son was 3 months). The second time we went my husband and I took shifts going up. (Son was 6 months). When I went upstairs there was a black lab on the second floor as I was leaving the dog began to bark multiple times at me. I'm not a dog person so this frightened me. The employee didn't do anything. I went downstairs and told my husband what had happened. He said the bark was so loud he thought the dog was on the first floor. What annoys me is my child cannot roam freely through the store but an unruly dog can. They don't sell dog items in this store, they shouldn't be allowed. I won't be going there again. read more

After visiting LL Bean across the street and experienced sticker shock, we crossed the street to find a treasure. This store is true to it's outlet nature. We found a lot a great finds and values. For women and adults this place is excellent! I always come here for great deals on top quality outerwear. They will sometimes have sample sales and if you wear size medium (mens or womans) The deals are unbelievable. I did recently visit the Freeport store to purchase my son a fleece. I was disappointed by the very small youth department. There was only one medium fleece available for boys. I am gathering that this had to do with the season or they may be restocking soon, but with the size of the store I expected a better selection. There is way more available online and I was looking for more than just clearance items. I look forward to heading back to Northface this late summer fall to stock up on snow skiing apparel! read more

Located in the Freeport mall this store is filled with all your favorite north face gear & clothing. Everything is already cheap and most of the stuff is marked down 40% on top of the tags. Selection is very good. They had all sizes for most of the stuff they carried. The Backpacks were 40$ cheaper then I've seen anywhere including online and eBay. Extremely friendly staff and the store was ice cold air conditioned and clean. I love north face products. read more

Drove up from Boston on 11/19/16 to see what all the fuss was about. Wasted trip. Simply this: bizarre colors, no medium or large sizes to be found, (if you're an extra small size, you're good to go), and extremely rude, less than helpful staff. Rather buy online using discount codes, without paying the Maine State sales tax. Pass on this less than fantastic voyage. I am from the Boston area and recently visited Freeport. I purchased a jacket at North Face and mistakenly left the package, however I didn't realize it until I was back home in Boston. After an exhaustive search and many Prayers to St Anthony, I called North Face and they were incredibly helpful. I was so relieved when they told me they found it and would ship it directly to me. I offered to pay for the shipping and they wouldn't hear of it. In a time where good customer service seems to be lacking, North Face seems to have figured it out!
