My friend and I had dinner at the North Fork last night before attending a show across the street. We had a great experience overall and enjoyed the food and cocktails. For drinks we each had the Three Doors Down, which was really refreshing and not too sweet (beautifully presented as well), and for food we shared the kale and Brussels sprouts salad, fried artichokes, goat cheese dip, and pesto tagliatelle. Everything was delicious. I loved the salad so much. It was really well balanced with textures and the dressing was delicious. My only minor complaint was that the crostinis that came with the dip had gaping holes in every single one, so they weren't great for holding dip, but our wonderful server brought us some extra bread slices, which were much better. I stumbled upon The North Fork on my way to see a stage play @ the Lucille Lortel Theatre across the street. I arrived @ 6pm, and took a seat at the bar. There is a daily happy hour menu and I opted for an Old Fashion. The impressionable bartender said he was able to make a very good Old Fashion. He did his best, it was too sweet but he graciously topped off my glass to help remedy the sweetness. It was a steamy day and I did not have much time or much of an appetite. I decided to try the Cantaloupe Endive Salad (w/o goat cheese). The salad was lite and refreshing with an interesting flavor profile. The North Fork was a nice little reprieve for a cocktail while you escape the summer heat. They offer a full menu with some interesting options that might be worth trying if you are not press for time, like I was. I honestly had my eye on the octopus. We had a huge birthday party event with about 25 guests. The wait staff was very polite and definitely overwhelmed with the party of our size. We appreciated them very much!! The inside is fairly small/cramped but it's quaint. Several small dining tables with a bar in the middle. The entrees that we prepaid for $27 came with a drink but some of us opted for the $30 bottomless option as well. Their bottomless drinks were veryyy strong. I also liked that they gave us pitchers so we could help ourselves. The duck benedict was superb!! It felt like a generous helping of duck and the poached eggs were done wonderfully with the hollandaise with lots of flavor. Stumbled upon North Fork while looking for a cozy place for drinks and light bites. We stopped in during their happy hour. The happy hour can't be beat. $13 cheese plate and $7 wines?! Best deal in New York. The space is tiny but has two large bathrooms. I ordered a hot toddy which wasn't on the menu and they made it beautifully with cinnamon garnish! I also had a glass of Prosecco and my friend had glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon. Service was attentive and friendly. We stayed for almost 3 hours and had a great time. Noise level in the restaurant wasn't loud which was nice. They have a few bar stools but mostly have tables and booths. I also had a dessert which was raspberries in a sponge cake with a pistachio mousse. It was light and refreshingly good! Stopping in here was a pleasant surprise. I'd love to come back for their full food menu. There's so many overhyped places in the West Village that are packed on a weekend but this place is a hidden gem. Came across this restaurant on the Seated app for brunch and saw that it was ranked NYC Top 12 by Time Out and Eater Magazine. My friend got the Baked Skillet Eggs (2 baked eggs, harissa chickpeas, chorizo, charred cherry tomatoes, avocado, arugula) and I got the Crème Brûlée French Toast (challah bread, crème Brulee, home made whipped cream, fresh berries). It was a little watery for my liking, but the alcohol still hit. The indoor seating is clean and sophisticated. And there are few great tables facing the window, which get a lot of light. I walked in and was greeted by Randy, and he was great. We started with some drinks, which included an espresso martini, and it was so tasty. The place was cozy and romantic, with few customers. The staff were attentive and fast. They kept our water glasses full. We ordered a dozen raw oysters, which the server said came from Connecticut. They were a letdown, sandy and rubbery. We did not enjoy them at all. We also tried their Meatball Spaghetti for $21. It had three meatballs. If you like firm meatballs, this place is for you. The meatballs do have a nice unique taste to them, The spaghetti was cooked well. The portion was small, but may be right for this area. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere in a busy city. As a Long Islander, I love the idea of north fork representation in the city! Happy to support a restaurant that crosses cultures all the way across the East River (and Nassau County). In all seriousness, the brunch at North Fork was surprisingly good! I recommend the summer skillet eggs, the chorizo and sauce in that dish were phenomenal. Chicken and waffles were great, too! The waffles were a little bit too soft, but the fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a great flavor that carried the plate. Service was quick and friendly, and the indoor space appeared modern and well-maintained. I have a hunch that North Fork does dinner even better than brunch, based on the menus. My friend and I came to North Fork on a Sunday night. There was quite a few empty seats available so we were able to be seated right away. After being seated there was a lull in the service where we did not have any menus or drinks or anything and just awkwardly sat there. After that incident our server, Anthony, came by to take care of us and service was much more reliable after that. We ordered a: ROASTED SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP: Delicious dip with a great sourdough it came along with. My main issue was that I wished the sourdough was also warmed before it came. SPICY MUSSELS: Yummy! We've had this before. Great broth and nice plump mussels that it comes with. GRILLED LAMB RACK: Very well cooked and that red wine reduction was absolutely delicious. The onions and potatoes it came with were great. My only main issue as that the broccoli it came with were not well cooked at all. PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE: I am not a big pumpkin dessert person but I enjoy a slight accent of pumpkin on desserts during the fall and that's what I got. The cheesecake was yummy and was really pronounced well with the pumpkin. All in all, a solid restaurant and we will be back soon! read more

Found this place by a stroke of luck this past weekend, after reservations at catch didn't work out. We stumbled in at 9:50pm few minutes before the kitchen closed and the staff was pleasant, kind and patient. Nothing fancy but the food and service was amazing. For starters we had the calamaris and burrata with prosciuttos, and for the mains we had the 28 days dry aged NY Strip. All dishes were well made and drinks were strong. And the check was decent. The variety here is excellent and the service is great despite the number of staff working on a Sunday night. I came with a party of 5 and we all got a mixture of different menu items and we were all really impressed. The menu...or basically the North Fork restaurant itself... is inspired by the north shore end of Long Island called the "North Fork". Having grown up there, I was excited to see a restaurant in NYC inspired by the tastes of Long Island. We ordered a couple items for entrees including the duck breast, seafood squid ink pasta, burger and roasted chicken. We also ordered drinks and they were all super exquisite in taste and simple design. The duck breast was cooked perfectly while the squid ink pasta sauce was rich but not overwhelming. The fries that came with the burger had a perfect crisp and the chicken was moist and flavorful. The entrees themselves were decently sized and you did not feel bloated afterwards. Now as for desserts, we got three different things: hazelnut truffle, affogato and espresso creme brulee. They were all delicious, rich, flavorful and again, not completely overwhelming. The strawberries on top were a nice added touch that gave it an extra pop of flavor. The staff were really helpful despite there only being two people working the dining room but the food was able to get out in a reasonable time. The ambiance was nice and cozy and warm on a slightly chilly night. This place is very well deserving of the 5 stars here. read more

I have had a great experience at North Fork tonight 1) Calamari: crispy, right tenderness, it goes so well with the sauce, 2) Stewed rabbit with wine sauce: the sauce is very flavorful, grilled asparagus was cooked perfectly, 3) Fried seabass: I'm usually a picky eater but this one I have nothing much to complain about. I actually really like the mushroom side dish. Order the mushroom! (Quick comments are the calamari batter would be even better with a little more spice in the batter and the rabbit meat would be much better if it's more tender). Delicious food, great atmosphere and very cute location! We came here on a whim because they have outdoor dining and a very locally sourced menu. At the bottom of their menu they list where they source their meats, vegetables, wine etc and all are from NY! There was seating indoors that looked really charming and all the staff wear masks. They were actually filming a movie next door so it was quite fun to eat and watch the film crew. We ordered the wild boar Bolognese, the spinach fettuccine with chicken and the brussel sprouts with bacon. Everything was delicious! Our server, Antony, was very quick and courteous. He was very proud of North Fork's menu and recommended coming back as their menu is seasonal. For the area, entrees are a more reasonable price ($16-$42), cocktails $15 and sides are $8. We got there later in the evening (9pm) so sadly we didn't get to try the cauliflower, the burger or the mussels but we'll be back to order them :) They also have a very popular bottomless brunch. read more

Had dinner here tonight and had to review because it was spectacular! From start to finish, we had incredible service. We were served water right away and checked in on a few times before ordering. Started with the cheese plate- the menu description said it came with jam but ours didn't. I felt it deff needed it because it was a lot of dry ingredients (nuts, bread, cheese) but it was still very enjoyable. The steak was phenomenal. Cooked perfectly at medium rare. The seasonings were amazing. As was the peppercorn sauce. Wow. The pesto pasta was another winner in my eyes. Extremely fresh and vibrant. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected but it worked out because I was already full and was able to finish it all! Also tried a spiked warm cider drink- it was REALLY tasty. Major kudo points for the soundtrack because I rocked out to Abba my entire visit and wouldn't change a thing about it. Incredible vibe. How do you know you're a true New Yorker? When you enjoy bottomless brunch on a snowy sidewalk without cover or space heater. Due to abundance of caution, we chose the two-top on the sidewalk rather than join the crowd in the 3-sided structure. The two servers were busy but friendly and helpful. The hot honey biscuit lived up to the hype. I'm not a huge fan of chickpeas so the egg skillet was good except for me eating around the beans (I knew this going in but the other items in the dish were tempting). The hash was good for soaking up the sauce in the skillet. There is a time limit but the servers weren't pushy about reminding you of it.
