Since I'd never…read morebeen, I thought it was wise to engage professional assistance with the planning air & ground travel, lodging, & activities, as well as selecting appropriate insurances. She worked closely with me to find activities that were both interesting & fun, while staying within my budget. I think most agents would have encouraged me to take a cruise but I much prefer to spend my time experiencing the culture & the people, doing walking tours, kayaking, & spending time exploring. Gretchen really listened & built an amazing trip!! Although it's taken me quite a while to write this review, I think she deserves the highest recommendation for her tireless efforts to provide a smooth travel experience. She was happy to answer any questions & even provided me a detailed printed & electronic itinerary. Since I was traveling alone, I relied completely upon her expertise. I highly recommend her services!!

Gretchan worked with us for months planning flights, seats, hotels, location, tours, eurostar train tickets. Our trip was US to Germany to London and home. Gretchen made us an itinerary printed everything had it all in order with the exact airline seats, class of tickets/seats and followed any airline changes. She collected all the tickets for tours and any tickets we needed printed them and mailed them in a packet to us. She followed our trip via email to make sure we had everything, and things were going as planned. She made sure we had travel insurance and a checklist of everything we needed to take care of for international travel. She is very well educated and prepared. She truly cared that our trip was exactly as we imagined and dreamed of. I would recommend her to, not just anyone, but everyone! I am not a friend or family member. This review is from a real customer. I have already begun to plan a cruise for next year with her.

Our group included 10 adults ranging from our late 20s to early 60s, as well as a very curious 3-year-old toddler, and everyone had a great time. The tour was informative, entertaining, and so much fun--a perfect mix for all ages. Our guide, Lindsay, was outstanding. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and had a wonderful way of connecting with both the adults and our youngest group member. She made the evening enjoyable for everyone, answering questions, sharing cool facts, and keeping us laughing throughout the adventure. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Outer Banks who's looking for something unique and memorable to do in the evening. It's a great way to learn a little, laugh a lot, and enjoy the beautiful nighttime beach in a fun and family-friendly way!

I just came along for the ride and helped locate the little guys. At first, it seemed like it would be a project finding them, but every minute it gets darker, you realize you're surrounded. Between the beautiful sunset, kids having a ton of fun, and learning some about the local wildlife (we found a couple pregnant crabs!), it really was a great experience and we'll do it again for sure on our next trip. Fair warning though for my fellow mid-lifers -- if you're not much of a hiker/runner, walking through the sand dunes for a good two hours REALLY left me pretty sore! So plan a dip in the hot tub after if you've got one in the rental. :)

The captains on the boat were so nice and did such a great job! You definitely need sunscreen and don't wear a hat, you'll definitely lose it! They have cold water on board for $3 each, so convenient as it is hot! The tickets were about $35 each and parking was $10. The ride is one hour, 30 minutes at a smooth pace and then FAST for the 30 minutes back. I highly recommend this ride if you haven't done it!

Honestly, my kids had the BEST time. We had a group of 6 people and I'm not kidding, we probably caught 40 fish between all of us--mostly Croaker. We kept a handful to do the "biggest fish pool" challenge, but didn't win. My boys were disappointed about that, but has nothing to do with Rudee Tours. Really professional captain and crew--the first mates were super friendly and nice. They also were super attentive to my boys and engaged with them a lot, which made them feel very special. Had a fabulous time and will totally be back. It's worth the money and was beautiful watching the sun go down.

If you have a lot of people going along, it can get pricey, but for us, it was worth every penny and the hour long drive down from the northern end of the island. The kids start off with a pirate tattoo - our little mateys decided on "PIRATES!" knuckle tattoos and a seashell - and getting dressed up in pirate garb. There are accessories too for purchase, but we told our niece and nephew that we could do ice cream after if they forego the swords. Thank God, they chose wisely. At that point, adult chaperones, just sit back, relax, and take some picture, because the crew takes care of everything. They sneak the kids through town onto the boat and take them through an adventure complete with finding a treasure map, firing water cannons at Stinky Pete the pirate, and sharing the booty. In reality, you're driving around in circles, and the ship's captain will have a few fun asides for the adults, but the kids really buy into it, and the crew is top notch. They really get into it, which I believe is saying something for these guys putting on multiple shows a day, many times a week.

The mate, Jinx, and "Captain Blarney" did a great job! The music was spot on and they kept the kids entertained the entire time. I loved it too! The pirate costume to borrow and tattoo was a nice way to start the adventure! The cost is pricey, but we all had a nice time! They have a tip jar out (well deserved) and it was nice they didn't even ask for a tip or stand there at the end of the voyage with the jar. If you have a little one 3-9 they'd probably love it too.

Wow, wow, WOW! What a fascinating place! So much history!…read more My friend and I went for a ghost tour on a Saturday night. The woman who ran our tour is named Sarah and she is a direct descendant of one of the original families that lived there. Also assisting with the tour was a man named Kenny from a paranormal research group in Richmond. Kenny considers himself a sceptic. His organization (I can't remember the name), works to document data, analyze the data, and try to come up with a scientific reason for the "paranormal" incidents. Both Sarah and Kenny have LOADS of knowledge! They shared a lot of history and stories with our small group. They also provided K2 meters that detect energy fluctuations. The stories were absolutely fascinating, first-hand, and some very recent (including with Kenny the sceptic). While we were finishing our tour, we heard a loud thunk on the wooden floor of the landing where we were, as if it had been struck with a boot or solid-heeled shoe. Then the floor was vibrating in a progressing manner as if someone was walking across the floor. One of the light-up cat toy balls on the floor was lighting up like crazy and several of the K2 meters were lighting up. So how about that?! A tour WITH paranormal activity! What a fun experience! I cannot wait to go back!
