Went in here to buy a couple cigars, since I was in Columbia. Figured that it would be good to support a local business, especially since cigar shops are very rare in this area. First: Not impressed with the decor. Crap stacked everywhere! Great if you are going for a shut-in/hoarder type of vibe. Second: Asked by owner what I needed, and I told him I was interested in getting some cigars. He then unlocked another part of the shop and showed me to the humidor, which he unlocked and then followed me into (I kind of got the impression that he thought I was gonna rip him off). Third: Asked owner for a recommendation and he said that a certain brand was their best seller. Since I already had some of those at home, I asked if he had another brand in stock. He then told me that he couldn't sell me anything if I didn't know exactly what I wanted because he wasn't feeling well. So I told him that I hoped that he would feel better and left. I will never return to this place! If the owner were feeling so bad then he should have had an employee cover for him, or close the shop for a couple of days! I got a "crotchety old man" vibe from this guy. I don't think he would know good customer service if it walked up and kicked him in the nads, and he didn't seem too concerned about doing business. My advice to you: DO NOT GO HERE! Spend your money somewhere that it is appreciated. read more

Nice little cigar shop! A kind and helpful older gentleman owns the shop, they have lockers for members and an extensive cigar and liquor selection. They are also next door to a restaurant which offers food and drink service in the lounge. Can't ask for much more! read more

They have a large walk in humidor with a wide variety of nice cigars. The smoking area is charmingly decorated with a wealthy, childless bachelor's touch: leather couches, Native american memorabilia, whiskey bottles, cigar boxes, trinkets, chatchkes, and a large flat screen. The real bonus comes from having the Grand Cru restaurant next door. You can order food/drink from this place while having a smoke in the Nostalgia shop. I have been going to the Nostalgia Shop to buy the occasional cigar for the past 20 years. They always have a good selection of quality cigars, and they will be more than happy to make suggestions if you name a price range. If you want to spend $20 on a cigar, they can point you to a great $20 cigar. If you only want to spend $5, they will still happily point you to a good $5 cigar. I will say that the current location does lack some of the charm that defined the old downtown shop, but perhaps this loss is somewhat mitigated by the fact that it is now easy to find parking. read more

My second visit to the shop. I was greeted by the owner. He iwas pleasant and friendly. The humidor was locked and he asked me what I was looking for. Once I told him a cigar, he opened the door. He stayed in the humidor and asked me what I was looking for. He was providing suggested smiles with alittle history . I was treated with a friendly feel. I was in town for an interview and had to kill some time. This place is awesome. I was smoking my rocky patel and a server came to me and asked if I wanted something to drink. I order a glass of wine and smoked my cigar. You can even order food from the cigar lounge. read more

I went in looking for a specific style of curved stemed pipe as a gift for my grandfather a while back, and the two men working there were very dismissive and said what I was looking for was probably at Aardvark's (which only sells the kind of pipes that are considered drug paraphernalia). Perhaps they're more polite to older gentleman, but they seemed to stereotype younger people as stoners, apparently. Will not return, the sweet older man at Jon's Pipe Shop was far more helpful. read more
