I had seen the had some higher priced bottles (maybe someday) but i was sure I would find something i liked. I was also sure it would be one of there bourbons . . . . but I ended up leaving with 3 different corn whiskies. One made from red corn, one from blue corn, and a red, white, and blue corn whiskey (250th anniversary of the USA remember). I showed up around 4:00 PM and hadn't signed up for a tour but they were happy to give me a quick tour as well as walk me through every single whiskey. I had a sample flight and ended up taking hme one or two more than planned. Oh, and the guy actually makes wood hats too. You can try them on too. The one i tried on was a little small for me, so no laughing at the picture . . . . okay?

Definitely stop by if driving on 1-70!

The owners Don and Jeanne were so hospitable and kind. The tour was by far the best distillery tour I have been on so far (and I've completed the bourbon trail in Kentucky). You can tell Don has a passion for distilling! If you're in Hermann you have to check this place out. Even if you aren't a bourbon drinker, just go for the ambiance, it's so worth it! Oh, and if you do get a bottle of bourbon be sure to pick up a bar of orange milk chocolate and cherry dark chocolate (made for Copper Mule by Ricky's chocolate shop in Hermann) to pair with your bourbon...the sell them at the distillery. I promise it will be a game changer!

When we first arrived, we paid to do a bourbon and whiskey tasting. The lady was incredibly informative about how they make all of them. My husband was really surprised with how good their two year bourbon was. We sat at the bar and shared a brisket grilled cheese and sweet potato fries. Both were good. I also enjoyed a couple tasty handcrafted cocktails. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would return myself.

Sadly our guide Macy was less "passionate cave enthusiast" and more "reciting a script she's said a thousand times and stopped listening to herself." I still don't know how this part of Missouri used to be an ocean based on the tour. She gave the exact same intro four separate times. Not because groups were bumping into each other, just straight up robot mode, probably from also trying to work in the photo package pitch every single time. Ask a follow up question and you'd get a shrug dressed up as an answer. A kid asked about a mineral and got a confident "nope, not that" immediately followed by "I'm not really a gem expert," which, ma'am, pick one. Nobody could tell us where all the clay that used to be in the cave went (there's a lot of water now after the excavation), how the bootleggers pulled off their operation, or whether the cave's ever taken earthquake damage. Also they sell alcohol at the gift shop right before you head into a dark cave, which feels like a liability seminar waiting to happen. What indigenous tribe did the skeleton remains belong to? How did you know it was an indigenous person(s)? What is the difference between an arrowhead and a spear, and when did those relics be given to be on display? She said the stairs were built by child labor because there are child sized handprints in the concrete, but provided no evidence of truth or why. Was it his 18 kids? No one knows. At least it was cool inside while the weather was hot outside. The cave has a story to tell. Macy just wasn't the one telling it. Would recommend the cave, would not recommend Macy. She already told us she's had a bad Yelp review, and I'm sad to say I understand why.

The ladies behind the bar were both really nice and helpful, It started to get busy when we did our tasting so we did them pretty quick & it goes straight to your head but they had a water jug out which helped! Spoiler alert I don't like to taste my liquor but free tastings can't be passed up. I got the blackberry mule & it was very refreshing and yummy. The patio was nice even though it was drizzling they have a covered spaced and big umbrellas over the tables that aren't covered, we sat under the umbrella and it was a really nice morning! Will deff be my go to spot for a rainy day at the lake!

Made a stop after hitting the wineries to attend their anniversary party and it was so much fun!…read more The distillery, located in New Haven, is nestled between the railroad tracks and the river and both were more than adorable! There were special tastings inside and outside they had fire pits, bales of hay to sit on, fried food on sticks, live music and spiked warm/ cold drinks! They also had these fun fire games set up where you hit a target and a blast of fire lit up the sky - so cool! All of the drinks were amazing and they had a mug deal where if you bought the mug for $10 you could refill it for $3 - this was just for the party though. Everyone was super nice, even when my friend decided to make a hay angel after tripping in the drink line. It's also fun that Paddle Stop Brewery is across the street so we could choose from cocktails or beer. We kept saying that we felt like we stepped into Hallmark movie, with all the small town charm! This is an annual event and we can't wait to make the stop next year!!
