Prices have recently increased and food selection reduced. Incredibly loud. Used to be one of my favorite hangouts.

Absolutely horrible service, hope you don't have to stop and tie your shoe on the way in the door, people that walked in 5 seconds before us were immediately seated, as we were, they had completed their meal before we even had a hint we'd be getting our food. If you love creative burgers you're going to enjoy The Nyx! They have great service and wait staff that are knowledgeable about the food that they serve! The environment is dim, casual attire, they have a bar, high top tables, and regular tables. They have a pool table and darts. The drinks are good, bourbon selection is good. My drink of choice is Basil Hayden Dark old fashioned when I'm there. Gluten allergy? Lactose intolerant? Vegetarian or Vegan? No problem. They have options: they don't specialize in them but at least they offer some good options. They even make their own black bean burger! Which is delicious and you can get made any of the ways they offer their other burger options! Overall, I'd recommend them again! You get a lot of food for the price point! And it's a fun environment that's not "stuffy"! Try it out! read more

Outstanding neighborhood bar with great staff, drinks and food. Just finished their Blueberry Compote White Cake with Cream cheese icing that is amazing! Their daily dinner specials are always inventive and delicious, and the burgers are great. Charley, Sierra and Lisa are great people, and you are a friend the minute you walk through the door. i've never been moved enough to write a review but wow this place sucks!! we found two seats at the bar. & sat for a good 15-20 min without being acknowledged by any of the girls behind the bar. each party next to us was given their checks and cards back and we were still ignored. no one offered a menu, a drink, or even a "we'll be with you in a moment." overall a very weird, awkward experience to the point that the couple next to us thought it was weird too. needless to say we left without even having a glass of water from this place.. read more

I...idk what to say. The first time I had food here at the bar, it was 5 stars. The last 2 times, it's been a solid eh. Got the Berkin cause I was feeling a little ballsy and wanted to try something different. This isn't to say I haven't anywhere else or any other time, but it's the first time I've had banana on a burger and fried! I wasn't impressed at all. The burger legit had ZERO flavor. Z. E. R. O. The bananas were bland, no sweetness to them. More like a fried plantain in blandness and legit zero peanut butter in my opinion. It's like they scooped a single time in the jar and spread it as much as possible as if their life depended on it. I had requested it cooked medium well and legit came out medium rare. Second time in a row that it came out this way. Previous time was when I had ordered the Jodi and it came out still moo'ing. I also ordered my wife's Carmine burger medium well and hers came out well. Sad to say, I'm over the Nyx and will definitely stop recommending it. read more

Great little place just off State Street. Loved the Carmine burger! Homemade tater tots are amazing. We had wing bites and the brisket sandwich that was on special. Outstanding! Service was really good too even though the place was absolutely packed. Interesting draft selection as well. This place has a permanent spot on our rotation. read more

The owner is extremely rude & ignorant. She took everyone's drink order at our table except mine, not once but 3xs. At the end of the night when I asked for my bill she was mad cause I didn't tip her ... really!!! She needs a lesson in hospitality! read more

I've been going to the Nyx for several years. I just found out last week that they sometimes charge more for than the price listed on their menu. When I point out an overcharge last week, they gave me the difference in cash and said the price had gone up. That's crap: you don't charge more than what is listed on the menu. period. When I pointed an overcharge out tonight, the owner said oh everyone makes mistakes. That's crap. You don't charge people more than what it says on the menu. Period. So if you go to the Nyx check your bill because they don't seem to care whether or not they overcharge. They don't even apologize when you catch them, they just say oh everyone makes mistakes. Clarks Summit has a new bar! This is a big freaking deal, and I was SUPER pumped to try it out when I went back to visit. Overall, this place is bar the coolest bar in Clarks Summit. If I still lived in NEPA, I would be back here at least once a week. That being said, there are still a few things that they could improve on, mostly with their food. The decor inside is dark and kind of weird, and the area inside is very small. There's not a lot of tables to sit at, so that's not good if you come here with a big group. But the outdoor patio is very nice, and there's a lot of tables that you can combine together for all of your friends! They have a pool table inside too. The beer list is pretty good, and they have a lot of craft beers, another pleasant surprise for Clarks Summit. Their beer prices are also pretty reasonable, and their pitcher prices are downright cheap. Now, the food. Their menu is 90% burgers, so if you're not looking for a burger, your options are very limited here. I ended up getting the mushroom/swiss burger (sorry, I don't remember the name), which was dry and needed seasoning. A few of my friends ordered the burger with mac and cheese on it, and they seemed to really like it. The burgers are very large and the fries are pretty good and fresh cut. My friend liked the chicken strips. Overall, the food looks better than it tastes, but is really good compared to the other restaurants that are available in the area! The Nyx has been our go-to bar since we moved here two years ago. The food is great and they always have a great selection of craft beers. I always get their hummus platter and my husband loves the carmine burger. We'll definitely miss this place once we move! read more

They have an extensive beer list, pitchers are cheap and they a lot of craft beer available. It's a fun place to hang out if you're going out for drinks and has the space to accommodate a large group. Bartenders are relaxed and friendly. That being said, I gave them 3 stars because they don't have a lot of good vegetarian options- they have a black bean burger that I would not recommend. They primarily have burgers (and some other apps like wings, fries, mac&cheese etc) + apps are pricey for quantity of food (they're actually the same price as the burgers). read more

Unfortunately we were in Clarks Summit for a funeral, and we were looking for a place to eat before the long ride home. My wife chose the restaurants solely based on the fact that they had Bells Two Hearted on tap. We were hoping for a good beer and a decent burger, and were completely overwhelmed by how great this place was. The burger was one of the best I've ever had, (better than Good Dog Pub, White Dog Cafe, Shake Shack, DogFishHead, FiveGuys - all places that people rave about the burgers) and the fries were a perfect complement to the burger. "This bar does not allow smoking." Allow that to sink in. Then breathe in the literally "rare" air. I could go on about the fresh air, but that would sell the cooks and the bartenders short. The food is good (try the Carmine Burger - bacon & Mac and Cheese), the music is eclectic and the crowd is never rowdy. A solid pub that serves a good quality and quantity burger. Good beer selection with many domestics and imports on tap and bottle. Fries are fabulous. The old style homemade fries in lard- I think. The delicious kind not the red arches kind which are genetic modified potatoes that use herbicides fried in crisco oil. Prices are good Service was good. The nyx has excellent burgers. I had the carmine burger and it was very flavorful and delicious. I will get this burger again. The fried pickles were excellent and were a great app before the burger. My guiness was very fresh and tasted great. The only thing i was dissapponted in was i wish the iced tea had more flavor.i couldnt get the brew taste. Upscale bar food. Our son really like the sweet potato fries. We enjoyed the homemade hummus and veggies. You're going to need some veggies to go with your gigantic burger. My husband liked the burgers in principle, but felt like the one he ordered was not right for him, because it said fried onions and they were in fact sautéed. I got the black bean burger, which is above average for a veggie burger and obscenely large. Unfortunately It had the exact same spices as the hummus, so it was sort of a OneNote meal. I was here with a buddy to play pool. We had a blast because nobody was in this place. My friend got a burger and fries. They looked good but I didn't try any food. The wooden plates and chopping blocks they use to serve food are odd. Wood is difficult to get clean. I see people bashing them for having a limited menu. I think that could be a good thing. Focus bar food such as burgers and wings and knock them out of the park. I'm not sure if they are knocking them out of the park but I see nothing wrong with keeping the menu simple. If they started adding more items the quality might suffer and you might start getting frozen boxed items. I can see this place becoming overrun with desperate house wife types on the weekend nights. Like you get at State Street Grill. Just a heads up for all you common folk out there : ) read more

So looked forward to having a bar only blocks from my house. Unfortunately it is dead every time I've good which is Friday and Saturday evenings. The food was decent. They have pool and darts which is a huge plus. They need to turn the lights down and have more focused lighting, rearrange the seats, and have some live music to attract the crowds. If the atmosphere doesn't liven up the bar won't last long. Watch Bar Rescue! Came in today to try the Berkin Burger because I love peanut butter and bananas. It's the first time I was here but not my first PB and banana burger. I was very impressed. The peanut butter was lightly spread. While ideally there would be a little more PB, they didn't over do it which meant it didn't get sloppy as you ate it like you get at other places. The banana was fried and just the right portion. Again perfectly on there so as not to make a mess. The burger was cooked slightly more than medium rare but it was a true medium so no complaints there. It was sweet, but not too sweet and the cleanest PB and banana burger I've eaten. The flavor was excellent. I will definitely come back again for it. Then the hand cut fries. Those were also very good. Not too greasy and salted just the right amount. I did takeout but the place looked nice and they seemed to have a nice beer selection. I'll definitely come back to eat in. read more

This is a great place if you're a foodie who likes to try new things. A coworker told us about the mac and cheese with bacon (Carmine) burger, and my boyfriend and I knew we had to try it. I got the Smiegel and my boyfriend got the Carmine. They did not disappoint. I can't tell you much about the alcohol because we don't drink very much at all. read more

My son had a wrestling dual at Abington Heights... I was in the area early and needed a meal and a beer to take the edge off... Watching my son wrestle is an event that is makes me very happy but at the same time has me fending off a heart attack... Now for the review... This is a nice place, older crowd, quiet environment and a good craft beer selection. Upon entering, the bartender noticed me and seemed to read my mind. He knew I needed a beer and food menu and that I needed a beer immediately. I don't know if I looked thirsty, nervous or desparate... I ordered a 10pz stone double bastard, great beer! The bar menu is simple and typical for a bar... Everything you would need in a place like this... Mostly burgers... I ordered a Smeigel burger. The food came quickly and it was terrific! The burger was big, cooked exactly how I asked and covered with the perfect amount of onions, jalepeno's, lettuce and cheese.. The fies were hand cut and phenomenal... They came in a paper bag... Some of the best bar food I have ever had... I've been been to a lot of bars too... There were to bar tenders... They were quiet but attentive...
