I wanted to like this place. Everything says I should. It's close to home. They are friendly. They have decent prices. It's tacos. But I was left unfulfilled and disappointed. This is a highly spoken of and talked about place near the house and I'm sure because of the popularity it was as a food truck, it had a good following. Tacos were flavorful but 2 inches in diameter. Never seen tacos this small and I frequent authentic taco places. $2.50 would be ok price except you need at least 10 to equal 4 normal Mexican size. This place is exactly what I was hoping for! If you want truly authentic Mexican food with fresh ingredients, look no further. You've found your place. I ordered a steak burrita based on a previous Yelp review, and their description of a Mexican-style cheese-steak-but-in-a-quesidilla format is on point. Maybe not as much cheese as a cheese steak, but more flavorful, and with the house-made table sauces, it becomes even better. Delicious. I was really hungry, so I also ordered a single 'mixed grilled meat' taco (because it's a new place, and I have to try more than one thing!). This was perfectly traditionally presented - on a small corn tortilla with fresh onions, cilantro and a bit of cheese. Again, add some of the spicy green jalapeno table sauce, and it's perfect. I washed everything down with a crisp Mexican (normal sugar, no corn syrup) Coca-Cola, and a glass of water. An ideal lunch. The interior is cozy - maybe 5 tables that sit 3 or 4 each, so it can get full quickly, but they do have outside seating if the weather is agreeable. I came on a Saturday at 4:15 pm and all 5 tables were full by 4:45. If you're in the mood for authentic Mexican, you'll be happy here! read more

I am always craving Ocoee Taco Company now I've always driven by right after lunch so when I finally had the opportunity to come I was absolutely starving. The lady who took my order was so sweet and explained everything on the menu to me so I could make the best choice for my lunch. I got 4 tacos for myself and a burrito for my boyfriend. While I was waiting for my food to come out, she brought me a glass of water and an extra taco so I could try it out with the different salsas. What a great find! I've had this place bookmarked for quite some time, but it just never seemed to be the right time to give it a shot; I'm glad that is no longer the case. My fiancé and I arrived at the small (cozy?) restaurant and were quickly greeted by the owner who just so happened to be manning the register. Their menu is a large poster on the wall which was great because each item was accompanied by its photo which was helpful. We settled on 3 Pork Tamales, 2 Quesatacos, 2 Gorditas and Chips & Salsa as an appetizer. I don't think the chips were made in-house but that salsa definitely was; it had such a deep and fresh taste to it, I loved it. The quesatacos, while somewhat small in my opinion, had a very nice taste. The meat had a nice grilled taste and the tortillas added a slightly sweet touch which worked perfectly with the sauces that were left on the table. Up to this point, my meal was very good but the gorditas (as well as the extremely friendly and social owner) were pretty much what ensured my return. Sadly, it was my first taste of authentic gorditas but it was worth the wait because they were great. The slightly doughy texture along with the crispy exterior just created the perfect pocket for the awesome fillings. The seasoned beef, crisp lettuce and cream sauce were exactly what I wanted. The chicken version didn't taste as great, I believe the chicken was a bit bland, but I'll ensure I order many more gorditas on my next visit. Inside is small w/about 5-6 tables- they have outside seating that is cute but I feel its time for an upgraded outside furniture pieces- the chairs were uncomfortable as I did sit outside. Ill called in my order ahead of time and the young lady was super friendly and informative for I had questions w/my food order. I had a burrita- which would be like a taco panini- they take a tortilla fill it w/cheese/onions/cilantro/choice of meat-fold into a burrito style then grill it to become melted together- it was so so good. The carnita taco was really flavorful and cooked so well I was impressed. And I guess im not a big fan of Barbocoa (google the meat pls) so I wasn't too impressed but believe if you do like it you would enjoy this taco! I will definitely return, wish I lived closer! Place is warm and inviting. Cozy (although it's another word for cramped) ; there are 5 tables so seating is limited inside, although once it cools off sitting outside offers additional spaces. Parking could be tight when the lot is full as we'll, although I had no trouble. I was instantly greeted by Julia who was smiling and warm, very nice and hospitable. She went through the menu and took the time to explain each dish. They did not have guacamole bc the avocados were not ripe yet, so that was a bit of a downer. I order fish tacos as well as quesadilla dorados, which were described as a Mexican hometown dish with chicken and mashed potatoes. The food was extremely fresh, you can smell it by just opening the container. The taste was above average, but not out of this world. Overall I enjoyed my experience and will return again to see if I can try the gauc and maybe a couple other dishes. Will revisit rating again read more

First off, don't mind the outside. Yes, it looks kinda like a trap house. But, much like the burritos, what's on the inside is incredible! And, for the record, they have a nice little patio area which you should be able enjoy for the two weeks a year the temperatures are sub-110 degrees. Just sayin'. Like other people, I asked the difference between a burrita and burrito. Size is part of it but the burrita is mostly just meat and cheese while the burrito has other stuff like lettuce inside. That mystery being solved, I ordered a steak burrito and a spiced pork taco. The taco's are street tacos meaning they don't have a ton of stuff loaded in them. Meat, cheese, cilantro and a lime wedge on the side. Honestly, if the meat is good, that's all you need. And this meat was incredible. Great flavor. It was apparent they use quality ingredients. If you want more on your taco, I would suggest this fancy little place around the corner called Taco Bell. Have fun with that. The burrito was huge. The steak was excellent and the fillings were not overwhelming. I ate every bite but I was quite full afterwards. They brought me 4 sauces to try. My favorite was the "hot" one. Yes, it had some good heat to it but it wasn't overwhelming and had good flavor as well. Any idiot can throw a bunch of Carolina Reapers in a sauce and make you question your life choices as you sit on the toilet praying for the lava god to make it stop but to make something that compliments the food takes skill. There was also a green chile sauce with a bit less heat, a no heat sauce with some tang (I'm assuming tomatillos) and a brown no heat sauce that was more savory than anything. Finally, the staff was incredibly friendly. I had a few questions before and after I ate and they were most accommodating. My only complaint would be that the menu is a la carte and the chips and salsa seemed a but pricey although since I didn't order them, I'm not sure how much you get. Maybe they literally bring out a wheelbarrow loaded with chips and a bucket of salsa, I don't know. I doubt it but it'd be pretty cool if they did. If you're in the Ocoee area, this place is most definitely worth a shot. Oh wait! One more thing. They now serve breakfast and open at 7:00 am. Yelp and Google still listed it as 11:00 so don't sit around feeling your ribs touching waiting for them to open like I did. OK, gotta go, love you, bye! read more

Husband had a quesadilla doradas-which was with mashed potato! I had the chicken quesadilla. Guacamole and chips was as good as Yaya's! Having been to Mexico, grown up in Southern California, and been raised in a Hispanic home, I feel comfortable saying that this place makes truly excellent Mexican street tacos. Sadly, that tiny 4" taco with maybe 2oz of fillings also cost from $2.50 for the carne asada to $9 for the fish. Not good. I've found other establishments that have food that's just as good for a fraction of the price in the nearby area. Shame too, because this one is right in town. Now, I do want to reiterate that the food here is excellent. There was not a single bite lacking in flavor, and they even added a few pleasant surprise ingredients I had to do the foodie version of a double take with. But, I just can't forgive that price tag. An afternoon snack should never be a double digit total when we're talking tacos. I'm in the unique position of someone who has made food most of his life in varying quantities (i.e. a snack for myself at home, food for the family at gatherings, and in several restaurants and resorts), so I most definitely know the effort and work and love put into good food, but that's why I had someone else do the books and help define pricing. If any cook in the world had their way, a good plate of food would be $100, minimum! But in the real world, that is never going to happen. At least not without all around inflation and other economic factors that would make that $100 a reasonable option. Rants aside, lower your prices. I've heard about you for months now, and it ALWAYS comes with the dreaded "but". I hope you read this and fix the one thing holding people back. I hate finding a great new place only to never return for the simple fact that I just can't afford to pay entree prices for snack portions. read more
