I had the opportunity to try this restaurant that is based off of a popular salsa from the the Winter Garden Farmers Market! Tres Amigos salsa has a variety few different flavors that go well with their tacos available at their restaurant. The flavors for the salsas are, Original, Hot, Smoky, Verde, and their Kicked up Queso. What's interesting about their Queso is that they add their original salsa to their queso to apply that flavor to the cheese! These flavors were great, and the Kicked up Queso stood out majorly! For the dinner, there are four taco options; steak, chicken, shrimp, and veggies. You have the option to have your tacos on a corn or flour tortilla, and is paired with black beans and rice. You are also able to order these tacos individually, or in a family pack of four. I ordered a steak taco, and they cooked the proteins on the grill and gives the protein a nice char! They also grill the tortillas to give them some color as well! The tacos are a Tex-mex style, and you're given guacamole that has a tiny kick of spice, and some greens to top. This is good stop for a late lunch, and since it's a small place, it's best for takeout only. The owner did inform my group that they plan on expanding the restaurant and menu, to more options, which will also lead to a change of hours. This is a good stop a quick lunch and tacos. read more

I enjoyed my lunch at Tres Amigos. The restaurant is small but nicely done. They provide excellent customer service and use quality ingredients. I ordered a chicken stuffed taco. The meat was flavorful and I loved all of the fresh toppings. I tried the steak and really like that one too. The meat is tender and seasoned. It also tastes great with the fresh toppings. I have yet to try them but they also serve banana pudding and cookies and cream cheesecake that looks delicious. read more

My family and I stopped in around 4 on a Thursday afternoon. We were the only customers at the time. Chef John immediately welcomed us in and took time to walk us through the menu as this was our first visit. We had the ship stuffed tacos as well as the steak stuffed tacos. Both were delicious, perfectly charred, well seasoned, and generously served. If you are not a fan of a little heat, I suggest your h ask for the sauce on the side. If you dine in, you get salsa and chips. The salsa is so fresh, I can see why it does so well at the market. For folks that like to cook, they sell packs of seasonings like Memphis rub and a Jerk rub that I will definitely want to pick up next time I stop in. This place is from the guy who made amazing dips/ sauces from the winter garden farmers market. Great mission to reach people thru food. Owner is very nice. Food is amazing! Great flavor and char. Also nice to support local. The guacamole and salsa is amazing! Prob eaten to go from here 10 times I love the tortillas- heated up with perfect char marks. I've never had a bad experience here. Maybe the hype was a little bit too overrated. Came here on a Monday afternoon after it was recommended by one of our local friends who live around the area. The establishment was not what we expected at all. We thought it was going to be a sit down restaurant, but it's actually a grab and go find of quick service. The prices are reasonable and the establishment is clean. There are no public restrooms here. We ordered the street tacos of pulled pork and skirt steak. The insides of the taco was very delicious, but a bit over cooked and dry. They charred the crap out of our tortilla so it was more of a burnt taste, than meat galore. Maybe it was just the Monday leftovers. I'm sure the food lives up to its reviews... just not for us. read more

Soooo good! I had the Grilled Veggie Bowl. The veggies included zucchini, yellow squash, onion, green bell pepper and tomato layered on top of rice and black beans.The vegetables are grilled with just the right amount of char on them and a light smoky flavor. The dish is hearty and satisfying with great flavor however I would prefer less salt. The dining area is tiny but comfortable. The owner shared with me that the dining room opened in February 2021. I tried this place out last week and had the pleasure of meeting the Owner and his brother who offered exceptional customer service and made us feel very welcomed. I ordered the steak tacos that came with a side of yellow rice and black beans. The steak was super flavorful and was fired up to perfection. They make it a point to fire the meat up on the grill to add that delicious flavor and even the back of their shirts say "Fire it up." They are also known for their AMAZING salsas. You might have seen them before selling their salsas at different Farmer's Markets, but now they have their own brick & mortar. I was able to try all of their salsas (Original, Smoky, Hot & Verde) and their kicked up Queso which made picking just one for myself to order almost impossible. I ended up getting the Original which was really good but the Smoky one was my 2nd favorite. Whichever one you choose you won't be disappointed, it's just a matter of preference. At the moment they're only doing to go orders, but they do have plans in the future to offer seating. I look forward to trying them again soon. read more

We had tried their salsas before at a farmers market, and we're so glad they decided to expand into a brick-and-mortar with yummy tacos. We had their Skirt Steak Taco, and the meat was tender and seasoned perfectly. It was served with homemade corn tortillas that did not fall apart, pico de gallo, guacamole, black beans, and rice. My wife and I I were very excited to see that this taco place was in the top 100 across America. So we drove 30 minutes to try this highly rated restaurant. We cannot tell how much we were disappointed in the quality of the meat. We ordered the steak tacos because the ingredients list "skirt steak" and I can promise you what they cooked was NOT skirt steak but flank steak. Well how do I know this after 30 years cooking I know my meats. Skirt steak is fatty, juicy and easy to eat, the flank steak isn't fatty very lean meat which was in the steak tacos. I understand why they use flank steak because it's cheaper but lacks fat and flavor. Skirt steak is also more expensive than flank steak. However no matter restaurant should purposely defraud customers knowingly. Now maybe the meat distributor is not telling them the truth but either way they need to change the menu immediately to "flank steak". I am not sure how a company that misleads its customers made it into the top 100, really makes me question Yelps authenticity about their reviews and rankings. The salsa was good, the rice and beans were good but the flank steak was like chewing a rubber tire. Got 8 steak tacos and it was AMAZING (went back for more) , I've been looking for an authentic place to get tacos and this is the place. Love the ambiance of the lobby I love cozy small dining area. This is a hidden gem. I lived in San Antonio Texas for years while in college. So I know real TexMex food. This place is legit. Let's start with cleanliness. As a (retired) fireman, we did monthly inspections and saw some very gross restaurants. This place is spotless. You can see right into the kitchen from the order counter. Next is ingredients. They do everything from scratch. The purchase their ingredients from local farmers & farmers markets. Even their flour tortillas are made! They is the finest cuts of meat. Their inside skirt steak melted in my mouth! It's more of a take out place or small group seating. But the quality of food is outstanding! Customer services was amazing. The owner, Chef John, met us at the counter and explained his creations to us. They get their food fresh, and locally. Chef John has a passion for food, and a passion for people. He also uses his food as connection, and as an outreach to the community!! We ordered the locally-supplied skirt steak, "Signature Stuffed Tacos", And WOW! I've been eating 'tacos' for +50 years, and have never had such a delicious Signature Stuffed Taco.... and Chef John personally prepared it all for us! The combination of tastes and textures screamed Delicious! We also had his special Chef John created salsa, and again..... WOW! Delicious! Chef John loves people and loves good food! Really wanted to like it based on all of the other reviews. The meats were very good but I got chicken and shrimp and there were only a few very small pieces of chicken. Also, the rice was mushy to the point of being unappetizing. I love homemade flour tortillas so I added them but they were grilled to the point of being insanely dry and tasted like FL tap water. A hole in the wall Tex Mex restaurant that is pretty good. Food is very authentic and original and has a great smoky taste and smell. The dining area is nicely decorated but really small and can only accommodate three tables and a small bar top so this is not a place you'd want to eat in at with a group or family though take out seems to be a great option. Menu is limited to five kinds of tacos and bowls and a cooler holds bottled sodas to purchase. The restaurant is heavy in its faith focus therefore plays Christian music loudly in the dining/order area which may not be inclusive of all diners. read more
