When we first walked in we were greeted by two young girls (who looked to be the only ones there), and ordered a CBR pizza and cheese bread. We went upstairs to grab a table by the window, there aren't many seating options downstairs. The food took probably twenty minutes, which is about average. We were the only table though. The pizza was tasty but the crust was pretty dry. Honestly the cheese bread was better in our opinion, and you can add toppings to it. We will come back for some more cheese bread for sure, but probably will skip on the pizza. It was that good. read more

My wife and I are staying nearby so we stopped in here for lunch. We split a 12" sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza that was fantastic! Our beers were cold local crafts that we both enjoyed. We were cheerfully greeted upon arriving at this quaint little stop in the road next to Hope City Hall. We stayed in Hope over the holidays and resort staff recommended we try Old Ice House Pizzeria. The reviews were good so we decided to try it. The pizzeria is cozy and has a great view of the lake. We ordered the peninsula pizza. The pizza tasted average; the chicken was a little tough/dry and crust looked fluffy but was hard. Reasonable prices. Love coming here after watching the Salmon spawn in Trestle Creek. The beers are cold and a few of them on tap are local. We like to sit upstairs and enjoy the view of Lake Pend Oreille. The Greek Salads were tasty and plenty of goodness on the plate. The pizza was a little less desirable. We ordered the Scotchman's Supreme - the sausage was minuscule, but the rest of the items in it were tasty. However, the crust lacked flavor, was very soggy in the middle and slightly burned on the edge in a few places. Service was good, but when it came time to check out, the young lady taking our payments seemed a little blasé and we all had to ask for boxes even though we brought the pizzas down to the counter when it came time to pay. read more

Not super consistent with their pizzas. They skimp on meat a good bit. Sometimes the pizza is very dry. Other times it's cooked just right, you never know what you're going to get. I recently ordered one pizza on the phone, she said 35-45 mins wait. We showed up in 45 mins and they hadn't even started our pizza yet and we had to wait 20 more mins for our food. If you ever find yourself driving through Northern Idaho on a pretty day do not miss the chance to stop at this little gem for a cold beer and some pizza. The pizza can be ordered by the slice and is made to order. They half bake a cheese pizza and put the rest of the toppings on and finish cooking once you order. The result is a hot, fresh, pizza with a wonderfully crispy crust and fresh ingredients. The original pizza is cooked with marinara sauce on it but they can add pesto or barbeque or whatever you want. They also have calzones, salads and full pizzas. Save some room for the huckleberry ice cream though, you can't come through this area without trying at least 3 huckleberry flavored items! The view is outstanding. On a clear day you can see for miles on Lake Pend Oreille and enjoy the wooded mountains. There's even an eagles nest in a nearby tree, hopefully they'll be in on your visit. I am a huge fan of Pizza Hut, and this place wasn't better than PH in my opinion but the staff and service was far beyond. And the location is stellar! I could see loving to hang out here with friends. It's very homey, inviting and has a nice view. Upstairs theres a couch and games, and a porch. A great find in a small town. They try to source as much local and organic as possible, including using local wheat from Shepard's Grain in Eastern Wa which is local and tastes great. I often find myself fantasizing about my return and what I'm going to try next. Don't go if you are in a hurry or aren't prepared to relax. Each pie is hand crafted, and it takes awhile. Eat a cookie first if you're starving. No one will tell your mom. It's only open in the summer. Be sure you check the website before making the trek. The Ice House is a major step above anything else we've had. #1, the pizza crust is Fantastic, just the right amount of home made dough. It was crunchy but note wafer crispy . The home made sauce was excellent. I had the Hawaiian and would highly recommend it. Now, if that's not enough, the visual stimulation of the lake will want knock your socks off.
