The Old Spaghetti Factory has been one of my families favorite restaurants ever since I was a little kid in Tacoma, and it still is now that I'm grown up and have kids of my own. It's a crowd pleaser and always consistent. The Lynwood location is huge and sometimes the wait is long, so if you can get a reservation that's the way to go. It's not my favorite location just because of the area in general, but the food is just as good as the others. My absolute all-time favorite dish is the Mizithra cheese pasta. I've never found anything comparable, neither locally nor internationally, and I have not been able to successfully recreate it at home despite buying the specific "Spaghetti Factory" brand cheese from Costco when they had it. It is their secret recipe that will forever keep me coming back. The last time we ate here I mixed it up slightly and ordered the Chicken Piccata -. chicken breast topped with butter, lemon, capers, shallots, and tomatoes over angel hair pasta with mizithra cheese (of course!) and it was delicious. Might be my new go to meal. The OSF is one of the only restaurants where both my kids eat their entire meals, and all of us always leave satisfied. We'll always be back. read more

The Old Spaghetti Factory (renamed as The Old Bsghetti Factory by grandson Walter) has been a family tradition for years. Unfortunately the closure of the downtown Seattle restaurant impacted how often we get to visit. This is one of those restaurant situations where I always order the same thing, the Potpourri. Just as you should always have turkey at Thanksgiving, I like to have the dish that reminds me of all the family gatherings we have enjoyed here. Since my daughter had an appointment in Lynwood anyway I asked her to bring the Crumbsnatchers along and we could all enjoy a dinner together. I think that the pictures tell the story, everything was perfectly on point. Just what you would expect for a family dinner at The Old Bsghetti Factory! Side note, I used multiple trips to TOSF in Spokane to help familiarize and recruit an incoming freshman football quarterback at WSU to join our fraternity. He would order two dinners on each visit. He ended up pledging and after a very successful career in Pullman went on to win a Superbowl Championship and was named MVP of the game (Washington Redskins). read more

I have loved OSF since I was a kid. If there's one near any town I visit, I always try to go. I saw the 2.8 rating, but figured it was just people being persnickety. We went to the one in Lynnwood and were seated in the caboose. All was great so far. Enjoyed my favorite salad with creamy pesto and the spinach tortellini followed by spumoni. Our server was attentive and pleasant. But about an hour later I could feel my stomach gurgling. I didn't feel right the rest of the evening, so I didn't eat much else. At about 1 in the morning I woke up vomiting and with explosive diarrhea. It's a day and a half later I am still feeling poorly. I can't definitively say it was what I ate at OSF, as my boyfriend did not get sick, but I will be wary of going to this location again. OSF may have done me dirty. read more

Food is okay, at best serviceable. I found it old-fashioned, unimaginative and not exciting. Ravioli looks like it came out of a box...too industrialized. The Chicken Marsala was ok, but didn't seem to have any herbs and sauce seemed thickened with corn starch. The brown butter sauce tasted good. Went to try The Old Spaghetti Factory in Lynnwood WA. It is a huge restaurant , with handicap accessible for entrance and facilities. It took a while for the hostess to come to the podium. I guess they are short staffed. But lots of customers dining for lunch. West by the train, as we requested. Waiter arrived immediately and gave us the menu. We ordered the 3 course meal. Ordered a minestrone soup and was served hot bread with it. Bread was just ok. It looked like a mini baguette but the taste is just regular bread. No hard crust to talk about. Order came, mushroom ravioli and chicken Marsala. The ravioli had an Alfredo sauce and mushrooms. Nothing great. The chicken masala was just a sauce that had no herbs flavoring with the chicken. It was served with spaghetti with brown butter and cheese. Feels like the cheese was just not really Parmesan . Anyway, we did not have the dessert - either spumoni or vanilla ice cream, Nothing great. Would try another pasta place next time we crave for it. read more

Good ole home week. Visiting California one restaurant at a time The old spaghetti factory San Jose located at San Pedro Square. My husband and I shared many a table when we were young and dating. Our family has made many memories over the simple but delicious spaghetti. Nothing has changed in more than 40 years. The brick alley way with wrought iron accents reminiscent of the Nee Orleans French quarter. 2 large wooden doors open to a turn of the century Victorian style building. Stain glass, hardwood and velvet everywhere. Very picturesque. A full bar to enjoy a dinner waitlist. The 3 course meal includes soup or salad, spaghetti, hot bread and a scoop of Italian spumoni ice cream with pistachio ice cream and candied fruits. Along with spaghetti and a variety of sauces are lasagna and sausages. Just like we remembered. A definite place for an inexpensive, fun, romantic, family friendly meal! Another great experience - again, we don't come here for cutting edge Italian food, but this place is a Seattle institution that harkens back to simpler times - when your whole family could get a hearty meal for a reasonable price with friendly service. Overcooked noodles with too little cheese made me realize I could only chase memories so far. I am a big fan of The Old Spaghetti Factory from the first time I went in Seattle before it closed. Then I enjoyed the one in Tukwila before it closed. Neither of these went out of business due to poor customer turnout but due to landlord and lease renewal issues. I can't imagine a restaurant offering low prices for pasta has the largest of margins. Desiring Old Spaghetti Factory goodness we traveled a distance to this one where my memories didn't match reality. We sat at a little table with a courteous waitress who seemed very busy despite the few people present. Ambiance it had all the wooden tones but none of the Tukwila charm opting for more practicality. Everything was a bit slower than typical. While our waitress was nice she never checked on us or asked how we were doing between taking our orders and dropping off the check. It was a bit disappointing. I ordered the Mizithra with Browned Butter and have never been so crushingly disappointed in pasta. The noodles were overcooked and the pasta had way too much butter to cheese ratio. The cheese practically swam in pools of butter that gathered at the bottom of the plate. The toothiness I have come to enjoy was completely lacking. 'Soggy noodles are the worst noodles. read more

I wish I could have had the dining experience I had in my late teens when The Old Spaghetti Factory was open on the waterfront. I remember the ambiance, the brick building, and the entrance made you feel special. My family and I wanted to revisit some memories from our past and tried the Lynwood location. The service was slow, inattentive and there was a tall gentleman that appeared flustered at the front desk. Our server, a younger gentleman was doing his best to accommodate the 4 tables he was managing with our 4 top, a 3 top, and a two other two tops. Three tables next to us weren't bussed and I repeatedly had to ask for olive oil, silverware, and bread and salad. The food was pretty disgusting. It tasted like reheated leftovers from Marie Calendars with bread heated up from LaBrea but old. This dining experience was not great. I was at Olive Garden in Yakima and this location exceeded my expectations on a busy holiday rush and there was unlimited breadsticks and salad. I share this for price point reference. The only thing that stood out which was delicious was the salad and the dressing and spumoni which was nostalgic. I hope this review can be used as a learning opportunity for staff. What can you say about this place. It is a chain restaurant with only a couple locations left in the Puget Sound. I was not aware that you can make reservations online but indeed it is there. As promised our table was ready for our group and to my surprise on Thursday night, the place was fairly empty. The prices are a slight bit higher but the portions are still generous and the flavor is still pretty good. It is still a good value and I cannot say that about many other places today. read more

Had our annual organization dinner here this evening. This is our 3rd year here. Food seemed to be better than usual. For 57 people we had out choice of lasagna, Fettuccine Alfredo, or Chicken Marsala with spaghetti noodles with cheese. We were also given a salad and spumoni ice cream for dessert. Non alcoholic beverage was included. I had 2 glasses of wine. I must say service was great. Everyone sounded like they had a great time. I don't usually review large chains, but I think that the OSF is kind of a unique chain. First of all, I hadn't been to one in probably a decade and half, and in a different city. But I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice the ambiance of this location was, the wait staff was excellent and the food was beautiful, tasty, and filling. I like meat, but I inadvertently bought a pasta only with mushrooms, and it was plenty filling! The bread that came with the meal was unexpectedly tasty, so I took a bit of that home! What can I say, the last time I had gone in they were out of almost everything and then wanted to upcharge what they did have. The time before last they rang up our check up incorrectly and charged us $15 over, the manager didn't even apologize and acted bothered by HIS employee's mistake and need to correct. Tonight the waiter literally threw multiple things onto the table. That was even after I asked who had thrown the straw so hard, I thought it had been my INFANT daughter. I am not used to things being THROWN at me so I had to ask where that had come from and he admitted it was him but there was no apology and I was immediately bothered. Had it not been my brother's birthday, I would have asked for a manager and new waiter because it annoyed the heck out of me. Him being nice to the kids in my party at the end is the only reason they got the first star I don't even care that it was fake, the second is that it's great for large parties and they take reservations so there are shorter wait times. read more

This is our current go to for Italian food with our family of 6. The food is consistent here as you would expect from a chain restaurant. Service is generally good and the atmosphere is casual. Food is the same as their other locations. Noodles come out cooked a little more than we prefer but that's hard to complain about when comparing this restaurant to its peers. Oh! A childhood favorite eatery that was convenient for lunch meet up. We even sat in the train which was fun, idk. :) I like the oversized furniture. For a pace that hasn't changed much, imo, it's got a welcoming ambiance. I get the manager's special that is half meat sauce and half mizithra cheese on spaghetti. I like the Caesar salad and the white bean soup. This place is very consistent. The food is fine, but the service is super next level. I came to OSF with my kid for a random Wednesday afternoon adventure. We had a great time. I like that I can pop in here and be treated as a regular even though I am not a frequent visitor. The wait times were a little long today, which is uncharacteristic of the handful of times I've been here before. It wasn't too bad though because my kid and I were just hanging out coloring and reading. Everyone who checked in with me during the meal, including my waitress Andy / Andie, and the manager (didn't catch his name), were apologetic about the wait and generous when the bill came. This place has gotten more and more expensive in the last few years, but I enjoy coming here, especially during lunch or on the "off hours" on the weekends. They close at 2 on weekdays and reopen at 5 for dinner, but weekends they're open all day. read more

As a long-time Yelper, I hate to see places with ratings that seem mismatched to the actual food, and the low rating of OSF strikes me as one of those cases. Sure, the food is basic, no frills Italian American, but it's perfectly tasty. In fact, I would have let this low rating keep me from eating here, but it just so happened that some friends picked up and brought over a big OSF feast to share with us. I'm so glad they did, and I overcame the rating prejudice. Most of us had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. There wasn't an abundance of sauce, but it tasted good and the chicken breast was diced into small, very tender pieces. The broccoli was al dente but pleasant. Our dishes came with a choice of soup or salad. I had the salad--like a bagged mix with iceberg, carrots, and cabbage--with zesty croutons and the creamy pesto dressing, which I really enjoyed. They also brought some loaves of really divine, freshly baked sourdough! And some cheesy bread that paired well with a flavorful marinara sauce. My son got the spaghetti with meat sauce, which I tasted and quite liked. As we enjoyed this big meal takeout, I can't review the ambiance or service. (And indeed, our friends did note that one of our soups was left out and they often forget something in the order). But based on the food itself, I'd give OSF a solid 3.5 stars--better than the better-known but comparable chain even if it isn't fine dining. And we will gladly order from them again. read more

My daughter and I loved the old waterfront location. I had come here many times with her, especially enjoying the trolley they had. I took her here in Lynwood for dinner, to remember the good times we had in the past. Sadly, it just wasn't the same. The decor in this restaurant is now more of a Cheesecake Factory, not the old ambiance of antique decor like the former Spagetti Factory. A big part of the charm, was the decor of the former place. This location felt big and impersonal. Loved the hot sourdough bread with garlic butter. Their bread was served much more cold and the garlic in the butter was not as pronounced. My daughter loves their Italian sodas, so she got an Italian raspberry cream soda. She really enjoyed this and ordered another one. She got the chicken Marsala and I got the Chicken Parmesan. Unfortunately, both chicken entrees were over and tough to chew. The sauce was good. It appeared that both dishes had sat for some time before being served. My chicken Parmesan had hardened cheese and a bitter tomato sauce. My daughter's Mizithra cheese pasta, was also overcooked and had hardened cheese. Our server did not check in with us, to return the overcooked items. We did not finish most of our food. Spumoni ice cream was good. Sadly, just wasn't worth coming here. My kids love this place, and it's a guilty pleasure for me as well. The prices are decent for adult entrees, but great for kid's meals. All include salad, bread and dessert, which when factored into the total cost is not a bad deal. The service was good and the atmosphere was just okay for a Spaghetti Factory. It's a nicer atmosphere than the Southcenter restaurant, but both are not as great as some other Spaghetti Factory locations that have a lot more character. But overall this is a great place for decently priced italian food and great for kids. read more

My favorite is the myzithra cheese and it has maybe a quarter of the cheese and brown butter it used to. The noodles were overcooked and the taste was underwhelming. The food is overpriced and mediocre. I had the chicken marsala and caesar salad. The pasta was underdone, and the texture was off. I don't know how pasta could taste and feel so stringy. Sauces are lackluster in terms of portion and had little to no flavor. I don't know what kind of seasonings were in the sauces, but all I could taste was butter and salt and much more seasoning would've been necessary. The wine sauce in the chicken tasted like flavorless gravy and there were more mushrooms in there than chicken. We also had excruciatingly long wait times for our food and we had to wait extra long because the cooks messed up some orders from our group...
