this is quite the deal! for the dishes labelled "it's all included", you get bread, soup or salad, tea or coffee, and ice cream with it! i got the linguine with clams ($19.75). it was a bit too oily, like there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. this added to an overall heaviness after. however, they were very generous with the clams and the linguine was perfectly al dente. the soup of the day was clam chowder and it was nice and creamy! could not taste the different flavours of the spumoni ice cream - everything just tasted sweet. would come again though! read more

Classic establishment and we received a holiday gift card with bonus so decided to go there for Date night. We love the all included meals that includes the delicious sour dough bread with whipped garlic butter, salad or soup, entree, ice cream, and tea or coffee. Usually have a great time here but today's service and food was slightly off. We ordered the calamari to start and it was alright but a bit of a small portion for $12. My boyfriend ordered the lasanga with a coke and I got the linguine with clams and upgraded to the spinach goat cheese cranberry salad light on dressing. There's free refills on the coke, which was nice. Lasanga and linguine were average but big portions so we easily had leftovers. I wished they spaced out the timing of serving us the salad, calamari, and pasta entrees as they almost all came at once but was a bit of a wait for our tea and ice cream. By the time I finished the salad and calamari, my linguine was barely luke warm. Ice cream, as per usual, was delicious. Wish they would finally sell it on grocery store shelves. We also ordered a cheesecake to go and was a bit disappointed when we got home that it didn't have any of the typical syrup with fruit, as the photo at the restaurant showed. Looking at the online menu, it doesn't say it came with anything but the photo at the restaurant was misleading. I really love the nostalgia of the old spaghetti factory for big group dinners and celebrations. It is a classic staple because it's a family friendly area with very homey service. Comes with soup or salad (can upgrade your soup or salad for extra), entree (and freshly grated cheese) and tea/coffee with your dessert choice of spumoni or vanilla ice cream :)! prices are reasonable for portion. only downside for the star loss is for two reasons: overall location and party set ups. while it is transit friendly being at new Westminster station, the parking can be tougher and the area is a little rough. we came with 10 people and it was a very long table back to back to back with another group so food had to be assembly line passed down - which is fine don't get me wrong - just can be a bit awkward sometimes. read more

If you love pasta at great prices then you can't go wrong here. Food: 5+/5 - tasty food with great menu options. They offer a lunch special until 2:30 pm along with happy hour specials. I had the tomato pasta topped with cheese and a Caesar salad. Also included was freshly baked bread, salad or soup (I choose minestrone which was tasty), tea/coffee and ice cream. You can't beat their value considering everything is pricey these days. My gf had the pasta with Hunter's Chicken which was also tasty. We had great service and yummy food. Haven't been in a while but so glad we went back. Bread and salad were good. Pesto linguine with prawns ( actually small shrimp) was perfect. Rich and delicious. You can still get a 3 course meal including salad or soup, pasta and ice cream for dessert for $20-25 here and they also include bread on top of that! Food was fine I guess, apart from what I'm about to say below: I get it, is cheaper end, is pub style, is pre packaged, keeping costs low, all of that I get. But if there is only give or take 10 shrimp in the pasta, and 7 of them has intestines attached still, that's still unacceptable - is not snobbish, is just sanitation. The ice cream usually no complains, but this time you have this "mucus solidified thing" around the outer edges of the ice cream cup. Again, this is just sloppy cleaning. Service is usually questionable hit or miss scenario here, but today is bad. Everything was slid on our table, not put down gently, literally slid. Ambiance is what it is, classic, but now I don't know if the carpets are decent or filthy. read more

The atmosphere is quite nice, old/vintage but also cozy/homey aesthetic. Some of the pastas are a bit pricey and in my opinion I don't think the price is worth the taste. I ordered the Manicotti and it was not bad, 7.8/10, and I got a drink, I forgot the name but it was something like "Strawberry Italian Soda," And that one was okay but not worth the price, 6.3/10. I was in a large group and we all got complimentary spumoni ice cream 7.3/10. Only slight issue was the server took forever to take our orders, very rarely came to our table, and took forever to get the cheque, otherwise pretty worth it to come here all things considered. read more

Old Speghetti Factory is a classic. The menu is huge, and many dishes include soup/salad/dessert and a side of bread. Its a great place to come with a big group and young ones. Yes its a little loud, but they don't hound you for your table when your done and the service is good! Parking is tricky at this one, but thats new west in general. It has been many years since I've visited Old Spaghetti Factory and it was such a throwback coming back here! Everything was very affordable, and loved how most dishes had the "Its all included" sign beside it! (Its all included = all entrees come with bread, soup/salad, ice cream, and tea/coffee) We ordered: - Steamed Mussels $10.95 - Linguine with Clams $20.75 - Mushroom Alfredo Spaghetti $17.75 - Spaghetti with Meatballs $19.50 We loved the sourdough bread and the soup/salad! The sourdough bread was always served fresh and warm, and paired so well with the whipped garlic butter! Ice cream at the end was also the perfect way to end the dinner! Steamed Mussels (1LB): This was delicious - the sauce was flavourful and the mussles were big and juicy!! We dipped the bread in the steamed mussels sauce, and it was SO good!! The mains unfortunately didn't quite meet our expectations. All the pasta dishes were too soft for our taste; opting for an al dente texture would have been preferable. Additionally, the spaghetti with meatballs was served quite cold, leading us to believe it might have been left out while the rest of the meal was being prepared. Was great when I was 9 years old and it's still great now! After years of not going here, i decided to try it out again. First thoughts were, "wow this place really is old" it's not the newest, modern restaurant we are accustomed too but there's a certain charm to the place. Service was Great, our server whose name I wasn't able to catch always had a smile on his face and did his best to check up on us and our meals. A well deserved tip! The food was amazing. I wasn't expecting much, but everything was just so great and nostalgic. For starters we got the Calamari, it was well fried and had a nice seasoning. For Mains I got the Pot Pourri with added meatballs which is a definitely have to and my girlfriend got the Chicken Alfredo Ravioli. Both dishes were simply delicious. For anyone who can't decide what they want, definitely choose The Pot Pourri. Both dishes come with a salad or soup, and don't forget the Unlimited Bread with garlic butter spread. I am a frequent flyer to the OSF for their cheap pasta! I have tried a few so far but always go back to my tried and true: the pesto linguine (I add chicken to it for the gains!). Despite their name, I don't like their spaghetti with meatballs and marinara sauce. Love that it comes with complementary bread and butter, soup or salad, and a scoop of spumoni ice cream to end the meal. The servers are always efficient, kind, and helpful. Tasting an Old noodle... In the area so decided to give this old noodle a revisit. I think the last time I been here or any OSF was more than 6 years ago? This place is conveniently located right below the New West skytrain station. There are pay parking on the streets and the skytrain complex parkade. Inside is just like what its name said, "old" 90s vibe and atmosphere. I actually enjoy that cause it's more laid back especially when I am doing some lonesome dining (now it seems like I need to dial 1800-rent-a-friend now lol). Secretly this is the 2nd time I am back here within 2 weeks, this time around I got seated on a one person chair and table in almost a no man's land (maybe I was wearing my rags again lol). Here were the food I ordered the 1st time; 1. It came with its famous complimentary bread and butter but I opted out on it cause I would've been too stuffed. (When I said its "famous", I meant it's their signature thing?) 2. French onion soup. It came steaming lot with a good layer of melted cheese on top, the broth was rich and tasty. Simple to the point but good! 3. Calamari. I find it a bit dry and crispy without the calamari flavour. Maybe I am spoiled by the juicy and tender ones at some of the Greek places. 4. Steamed mussels. The broth; the tomato and white wine ratio is wasn't well balanced, giving it that bitter taste plus the broth being so watery it didn't help either. It almost reminded me one of those prepackaged ones you buy at the market and just reheated to eat. 5. New York steak. Surprisingly the steak was perfectly done (MR), the spaghetti texture was perfectly cooked (lived up to its name), but I wish the sauce wasn't so plain. If the sauce had a little bit more elements to it, it would've been a perfect dish. Here's the 2nd time around; 1. Clam chowder (New England style). It came hot and with a decent amount of ingredients. And it was smooth and creamy, basic but was good. 2. Steamed mussels. Yes tried it again, just to see if it was the same as the previous time. And it was (sigh). 3. Seafood fettuccine Alfredo. I changed the fettuccine to penne cause I personally like my pastas to hold the sauce more. A subtle light Alfredo taste, I would prefer it a stronger and richer in flavour. There were an okay amount of shrimps and scallops, perhaps more chunks of pan fried mushrooms would be nicer instead of a few thinly sliced mushrooms that were almost insignificant? (I don't know what it is, there's just something missing in this dish, it's just toooo plain visually and taste wise). The both times I went was during happy hours (2pm-5pm) which wasn't really my intention, I just wanted to dine peacefully without waiting in line especially when dining alone lmao. The service was a yes and no the first time? (Kinda forgotten about me here and there? And offered me ice cream and I said yes and didn't get a glimpse of it? lol, maybe I was wearing my hoodie with a bit of rips? Lol HEY don't judge a book by its cover lol). Second time around the service was more attentive but I got isolated in a detention one man table (I was okay with that, I prefer my private space anyways lmao). The foods were generally okay especially for the price nowadays, you get even more value for your buck during happy hours. I come here basically twice to three times a month for dinner. That itself says enough about my love for this restaurant. I'll start with the sourdough bread appy. It's amazing especially because it's baked in house! It's bottomless and I have never been more thankful. The sourdough with the milestone soup together are to die for!! Another appy I know is a restaurant-favourite is the mozzarella triangles (served with hot marinara sauce). I've been ordering this for ages and I cant say enough good things about it. For my main dish, I usually order spaghetti with marinara sauce. My other go-to is the pesto linguine. And dessert (literally the most requested one) is spumoni ice cream!! My one wish is that they'd include more vegetarian and vegan options. I'm trying to be vegan but it's difficult because of my love for Old Spaghetti Factory. This is the second visit to this location. Both times we were seated quickly. Service has always been good. This last time Kyle was our server and he was just awesome. He was attentive, but not over bearing. Polite, thoughtful, and had impeccable timing. We ordered drinks, a frozen lime Cadillac Margarita for my husband JC and of course a frozen Bellini for myself. We both went with the extra shot. For some reason this made my drink way way too sweet. JC mixed his drink with mine and the tartness of the lime did help but it still wasn't great. I love the Italian salad dressing they have ( I wish they bottled it and offered it for sale ) I really wanted a large mixed green salad with a side skewer if shrimp ( only 3.99! ) but the salad wasn't on the menu as an entree ( only as a starter ) I'm sure had I asked, they probably could of done it, but for once I didn't bother with my picky obscure ordering, and just went with the spaghetti with spicy meat sauce. Which was quite good. JC loved his Chicken Alfredo with Mushroom and Mascarpone Cheese Ravioli. He also raved about the ranch dressing on his salad. As always, it also comes with sourdough bread, the salad, and Spinoni ice cream. I haven't been to the old spaghetti factory for over a decade and I guess we should've made reservations on a weekend evening but we didn't know it would be so busy. It was packed inside as other diners were also waiting for their name to be called and we waited about 30 min before being seated. Drinks food and dessert all took a while to come cause they were very busy but it the food was really good and the server did the best she can and was attentive. Their clam chowder was surprisingly good and I missed the garlic butter and endless bread. I can't wait to come back to try the seafood fettuccine alfredo. read more

The food is average, especially if you take the lunch menu. The entree is slightly better. I like the Caesar salad though. Fresh and crisp. This is basic hearty food with extras (soup/salad, spumoni ice cream, tea/coffee) to make it a complete meal. The place is a bit charming kitschy with an old train carriage in the middle and stained glass windows and lamp shades. I used to love the Old Spaghetti Factory as a kid but now I'm just ok with it. Service is hit and miss. Sometimes I get served the complimentary tea and coffee (part of the meal), other times I don't (unless I ask about it), so I do find it a bit annoying. I've had this restaurant in the US and wanted to compare. I feel that this is close but leaves a bit to be desired. I had the lasagna and while I could see the spices in it, I could not taste it through the overpowering tomato. The prices were a bit on the steeper side for what was offered. Service was excellent. The ambiance is also nice but feels a little dated, which fits the theme of the restaurant. They could do with revisiting their menu to have tastes of drinks and food go together. Used to be a great place to eat, but they hired staff that are practically useless. It doesn't seem they train employees anymore. Had asked for bread twice. Whereas they usually delivered at the beginning of the meal before you ordered. Had to ask three times for cheese from three different servers, none of which were my server. Had asked four times for water from two servers, also, not my servers. Ask for the bill four times and finally got to see my server again after an hour. I asked her for water twice and still didn't receive water. It used to be your third water when you sat down now you have to beg for it. Also, it used to be you got a choice of cheese when your entre arrived, now you have to beg for it. Not sure when I'll go back. Maybe after a couple of months when they've had a chance to fire and train new staff. The food was good when they finally got my order right. Side green salad was a miss for me. I enjoyed the milestone soup more because I get to dip my buttered bread into it. I ordered spaghetti with browned butter and mizithra cheese on one half and marinara sauce on the other half. Both of them I can easily say I love it. The regular sized spinach salad was great compared to the green salad. The sauce and the goat cheese worked well together. Decent portion. The spumoni ice cream was good, especially with hot tea. Over the years, I've spent more than my fair share at The Old Spaghetti Factory. And it's not difficult to see why this place has remained popular by many patrons over the year. Their all-included menu is tempting with a price that includes appetizer and dessert along with your meal. The main problem that I have with this chain is the way it's gone downhill over the years. One of the things that probably draws most people here is the "sameness" factor. When you walk in here... you know what you're getting. Their menu rarely changes much (although they have jumped on the bandwagon and have started serving Beyond Meat items now). I started out my meal with a Spinach Salad (which has a small surcharge to your meal price). Then I moved onto my main course which was the Spaghetti with Browned Butter and Mizithra Cheese and added a side of Meatballs. They describe this dish as a salty cheese that's grated over the spaghetti and then drizzled with browned butter. Overall, I found this dish to be fairly dry and flavourless. I didn't detect much browned butter either. It's probably a good thing that I added the side of meatballs as the sauce from the meatballs did help somewhat. The meal ended with some Spumoni which was probably the highlight of the meal. While it's not like a traditional spumoni that contains candied fruit, I actually do like their version. Some of the things that I noted on this most recent visit is that we weren't provided saucers for our tea cups (this created a bit of a mess on the table when trying to pour the tea), service was a bit slow (but we've come to expect this considering how busy they seem to be and how few servers they have), and I still miss the bread that they used to serve a long time ago. On the plus side, they have room to fit large groups, the price point is fairly reasonable, and most of their pasta dishes are okay. read more

It's a cheap place for quick and easy Italian food, but I'm not sure if this small chain competes with other places. The taste of things are lacking, but I guess that's what you get for the price? If the place is going to name itself after a classic dish, you better expect it to be great. The spaghetti with meatballs had very watery sauce and the meatballs had no ounce of flavor. Basically it was just a crumbled ball of bland beef. My spaghetti with clam sauce could've been easily confused with alfredo sauce based on appearance. Where are the clams?? Few bits and pieces scattered here and there don't cut it, so the flavor was lacking. Only thing that saves this review is how the menu is arranged. There's complimentary bread for the table. Your meal will typically include a minestrone soup or house salad (upgrades available for the clam chowder or caesar salad), spumoni ice cream, and coffee or tea. The spumoni ice cream doesn't have the strongest flavor, but definitely was a nice treat at the end. Had dinner with other 4 friends and our experienced was good. Had a reservation so we got seated right away and ordered Friday Drinks special which is Bellini. The place is very busy and our food and drinks was very good. All food we ordered tastes very good. Staff are friendly but 3 different people approached us and keep on asking if we're still working with our food. Our server asked if bill are separate and gave it without even offering water or hot drink or if we would like to order more drinks which is what we did.
